Doug'sdinner was amazing from the beginning. It was very busy but it didn't take long to be seated,Then I found out why they was so busy. The place was rockin, very clean and the employees where on top of it all with making sure your visit was memorable. We was greeted with a smile and our waitress kaylie was the best, she made us feel that we were regular visitors . The drinks came so quickly and so did the food. Our waitress always made sure that we loved our visit and always had a smile on her face. We had rubins and french fries. Finally got a chance to try Dougs Day Diner with a friend for breakfast. It is very close to where I live and has been in business many years. The good was the server was very friendly and helpful. Without the sever the review would have been two stars. The menu has lots of options to choose from. The not as good was the breakfast burrito was mediocre. It is a very large portion so that's nice but the flavor was nothing special. It comes with eggs, potatoes, choice of meat (I think I did adovada) and smothered with Chile (I did red and green Christmas style). The coffee was also good but nothing to rave about. Perhaps other breakfast or lunch items are good. Just a bummer since this location is so close and has a big parking lot making it easy to get to. read more

I went with the Bison burger with sweet potato fries today. The burger had jelly on it and it was pretty tasty. It had a little bite from the jalapeño's. The fries were overcooked unfortunately. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally tried it out. Status: underwhelmed. I'm not sure if we didn't have the best server or if something was up with the kitchen as there were some misses. Our server got one of our orders wrong (along with the table next to us) and multiple items ended up not coming out so we had to enlist another server to assist. We got a cinnamon roll as a dessert and it was cold....both frosting and roll which made us sad. I got the big pig omelette which made my day kid dreams come true smothered in both red and green chile. Half a portion was enough for me so hello leftovers today! I came here on the recommendation of others ranging from friends to people from Nextdoor. Always excited for a local-ish place. The hostesses were friendly but that's really where the experience ended. Our waitress forgot a number of things. Also the food is rather tasteless and the turkey sausage is gross for both flavor and texture. Overall I just can't get past that. One of the people in our party ordered a dish and asked for pancakes on the side. Instead she received a side of scrambled eggs and nothing else. As if that wasn't a head scratcher our waitress forgot a number of things for the table next to us too. I don't know if the diner atmosphere is for her. She was hustling but not sure for what. I will not be back nor would I recommend this to anyone else. read more

Very hearty meals and priced well. My wife enjoyed her steak, of course she couldn't finish it. This was one of the first meals I couldn't finish either. We saved some for our kids when we got home. Service was on point. Coffee and water was refilled promptly, waitress stopped by periodically to make sure we were good. My only concern is the space. It's pretty cramped here. A very diner experience. I wanted a cinnamon roll, but wanted some protein with it, so I ordered the basic breakfast. Our server said I could get a kids meal and save $4 or something -- what I received was a plate with plain scrambled eggs (maybe not even salted), a piece of bacon and the potatoes they call "hashbrowns," which are lightly browned potato hash/home fries, not the shredded and fried/griddled variety. My husband got enchiladas and said those were good. The cinnamon roll was OK, definitely not the best I've had, but huge. read more

Such a great breakfast spot! HUGE portions of really great food. We always get a griddle biscuit and homemade jam no matter what we order. My daughter loves the sweet toast. Husband usually gets the hillbilly and I'll get anything that has their green chili on it. The menu has a lot to offer, theres a good variety of mexican inspired food and diner stuff. The coffee was not great. It doesnt have a strong coffee flavor, it tastes watered down to me. Im not sure if its always like this, but I like for coffee to taste like coffee. The pancakes weren't great either. They are HUGE, and I was high expectations for them, but something was off about them. They don't really taste like pancakes, maybe it was a bit denser than I'd like. The "hash" does have a good crunchy crust. The biscuit isn't as crumbly and buttery like most biscuits. Its a bit more dense, still good, but more like bread. The breafast sausage is good! Wow this is my new go to place. They have coffee bar, they have homemade biscuits, homemade cinnamon rolls, thick cut bacon - what else could you ask for? The eggs Bennie was wonderful - the Hollandaise is perfect amount of creamy and slight tang. The potatoes they call Browns are great not too crispy not too hard. The pancake was really good. The waitstaff is young I think more teens or just out of high school but they were nice. Will definitely return. read more

A little complicated review.... So leading with the positive, the food was really good, service was on point, and the rest of the staff was very kind. However, there's all this airplane/WWII decor, which, fine, but my place setting on the table included two planes with swastikas on their tails (the three other settings on the table were allied planes). A staff person told me the owner didn't want to get rid of it because "it's history". I personally love my brunch without Naziism, especially in this day and age, but that's also an evergreen opinion of mine. If Doug could expressly disavow the third reich, I'd consider going back. read more

Doug's Diner has the most delicious breakfast and lunch food. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, 3 eggs, over easy and shredded hash browns. Everything was cooked perfectly. Their pancakes were fat and plate size and the hash browns were done with a little bit of crunchiness, and were wonderful. Their prices are very reasonable. My only complaint was my waitress, Renee, who was abrasive and rude, at times, which did not feel welcoming. When I asked for her recommendation for a particular breakfast meal, "That's up to you." Seriously Then another waitress brought my food and I went to ask her about how much the hash browns were, she was responding and my waitress barged in and said "I'm the one to ask." But literally pushed the other gal away with the way she positioned her body! But I gave Doug's 5 stars, because the food was so delicious. read more

Found this place in our forever search for decent brekkie places here in the Denver area. First off our server, Kaylie, was super awesome. Our first time here, she guided us through the menu and recommended items. We went with the Cowboy and Taos Pappas. Mounds of browns in each topped with assorted ingredients...and choice of red/green chile or gravy. I had mine on the side. Chile was mild but claggy...maybe due to the lukewarm temperature it was served at. And that's where the meal went South. Both of our dishes were lukewarm at best. My over easy eggs while cold were also overdone . The suggested stuffed tots side we ordered were frozen in the middle. Yuk. This is basic safe food handling at its worst. We asked for a reheat on the tots and picked our way through the rest of the meal. While the food was tasty, it's hugely offputting to be served cold food. Makes one wonder what other unsafe practices are going on in the kitchen. Oddly I had read this place was popular with health inspectors choosing to eat here, which I thought was a good sign. Hard to believe cold food would be served if that is indeed true. I have also read other reviews also mentioning similar experiences of cold food. Probably won't be back unless they can get it together in the kitchen. read more

Our friend up in Windsor told us about Doug's Day Diner up north of Denver. We stopped in to the one here in Centennial, Colorado last week to pick up a gift card for her and decided to try out their breakfast, too. It was every bit as good as she said it would be! I had the breakfast hash and my wife had the chicken-fried chicken. The servings were large, the service and food were excellent, and we even had some left over to take home. I'm a fan of Doug's Day diner in Parker, but this is my first visit to the store in Centennial. The menus are the same, with delicious breakfast and lunch items well priced. On this visit, I had the Mona Lisa two-egg omelette ($10.75), with extra crispy home fries, and one of Doug's famous huge griddle biscuits. I opted for mango preserves. There are a few differences between these two outlets. I find the parking here in Centennial is much more accessible, as the diner is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The space is a little different, too, much less industrial than the Parker store, which makes this restaurant a tad quieter. One thing that was the same was excellent service from a smiling server. Doug's definitely throws off a Diner vibe - including a counter and one lonely fly buzzing around. They were all decked out for Halloween and the only incongruous factor was the loud Spanish music. Because we came in after the lunch rush we had no trouble being seated right away. Our server (Chris?) was efficient and helpful without hovering. The menu is filled with homestyle favorites alongside Mexican inspired dishes. Tip: the green chili is great. I had an omelet with ham, bacon and cheese that was stuffed full of meat but could have used a lot more cheese. I tried the grill biscuit and it was huge but I would skip that in the future. The potatoes were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of saltiness. They make their own jam and today it was raspberry - I highly recommend it. I tasted the giant breakfast Burrito and it was good but the Carne asada was a little too chewy for me. I've been told they are packed for breakfast so I suggest going early or late. Wait can be long on some days but it's a true neighborhood diner. The only compliant I have is their hasb browns, some days it is crispy and delicious! Went here with son and DIL. Right away we figured it would be good as there was a good sized line. We were seated rather quickly and a nice waiter came over quickly to take coffee orders. The menu, like many in the area has a Mexican flair. My son got the very generous breakfast burrito. My husband and DIL got the breakfast quesadilla and I opted for my favorite breakfast - eggs Benedict. Good was prepared quickly and everything was delicious! Our waiter did not let our coffee cups get empty, and was attentive. Prices were very reasonable. There were lots of Air Force pictures and we asked about this and was told the owner was in the AF. Staff was friendly and kind . We ordered a lil billy breakfast which includes a biscuit with gravy on top of hash browns and 2 choice of eggs and we decided on bacon which was a great choice if a side . Super crispy and thick . Also ordered French toast or sweet cakes as they call them and comes with a side of meat , we choose turkey sausage and 2 over medium eggs and ordered a side of harsh browns . Love Doug's, fantastic breakfast burrito that is so big it fills the entire plate. Hash browns are done right, omelet's are delicious. Have been a loyal diner here for at least 15 years and have tried most menu items, never disappointed. It's usually very crowded on weekends with waits but moves quickly. Be prepared for leftovers to take home for lunch or a snack. I see a lot of the same faces on weekends and the staff are really great. I've probably eaten here about 50 times for breakfast. There's a counter for when I go solo, which is nice. Not an echo chamber but it can be on the loud side but not a problem, it's worth it. read more

This is my go to breakfast spot. There's just something special about Doug's Day Diner. The food alone is absolutely amazing and exemplifies homestyle cooking. More than anything, I think I just love the vibe here. From the cooks to the wait staff, everybody is super friendly and accommodates you for whatever you need. The portions you get here for the price are outrageous; but in the best way possible. Over the years the price hasn't changed much which as a consumer is awesome. You definitely taste the quality of each meal here. The highlights are probably their biscuits and their bacon. I've been in 3 weeks in a row for a late breakfast between 10 and 11am on Saturdays. 1st and 3rd time the service was outstanding, Kayla, I believe is her name, and Megan were amazing and I told them so. My coffee cup was never empty and they were both super nice and polite. I had the hillbilly and the Rancher on these visits and the food was excellent.
