Cheddar's menu has a some very nice options, and the food was surprisingly good. My mom ordered the pot pie and the portion is out of this world. Same goes for the lemon chicken. So much that I was able to have take home (oh yay for leftovers!) The day we visited was decently busy but it shouldn't be so much that we waited close to 45min for our entree's to arrive and our waitress never bothered to get us the refills we asked for. It was a struggle to get the bill as well so because of this, we decided not to share a dessert and we went elsewhere. This may be odd but the front entrance is so very well groomed. The large Blue Spruce's are very grand and statuesque and the foyer was very clean. This impressed me as much as the dinner. For a party of four we decided to try out Cheddar's. We ordered a variety of dishes. We had chicken fries chicken, jalapeño burger with sweet potatoes fries, homemade onion rings, catfish and steak and ribs. First let me start with the onion rings. These were hot and delicious and just the right amount of breading. The side of ranch and chipotle was a great addition. Next the chicken fried chicken was delicious I had orders corn and mash with the dish, the jalapeño burger was flavorful and sweet potatoes came out crispy and hot. The catfish was as 6 strips of deliciousness with the sides of baked potatoes and coleslaw. The steak and ribs were excellent. Overall we will definitely be back to dine at Cheddars.. we did not order the hot honey butter croissant and that we will need to do. Service was excellent and she checked on us often. The restaurant was true to what they stated which is southern comfort food. We shared most of our dishes .. next time I will definitely tackle some salad, soup and desserts! They do a BOMB Monte Cristo & a good potato soup, but their "Legendary" - their words, not mine - Monster Cookie is just laughably bad. An Easy Bake oven delivers yummier results than this mealy, flavorless concoction. Cheddars is a good American bar & restaurant. We go to the location in Aurora at Cornerstar. It is almost always busy so take out is sometimes the easiest. The chicken tender platter is . You get six huge chicken tenders in a delicious yet light batter that has the best crunch. They are served with a tangy honey mustard dipping sauce and two sides. The regular French fries are good. The sweet potato fries are worth the upcharge and the perfect balance of sweet, salty and snappy. The other sides that are delicious are the broccoli cheese casserole and Mac n cheese. The broccoli is good when having something healthy offsets the tenders. You can get the chicken tenders in buffalo sauce; however, the sauce while tasty does take away the crunchy factor (was after being taken home in a to-go container) I have tried the Dijon chicken as well. It is two grilled chicken breasts over rice with a sweet tangy mustard sauce, mushrooms and two sides. The grilled chicken is offset by the sauce that is tasty but very heavy and almost too sweet. The last thing I've had is the Philly cheesesteak. It was good but not as authentic as other options in the metro area. Roll was fine and cheese melted on top. Still ate every bite. First time at the location. Tuesday evening, 6:30p order pick up. You pick up call in orders at the bar and I learned real quick that you cannot enter the bar from the side door, cause it was locked. I'm used to being able to use that door at Cheddar's but they lock this one. There was just one bartender and a full bar of customers. She was super friendly and did her best with taking care of everyone. I waited for just a few minutes before she greeted me. Then I waited about 5 minutes for my order to come out. But it was missing the sauces and the drink, So I waited about 5 more minutes to get her attention. She helpes get my order completed and that was it. I ordered the chicken pot pie which comes with salad and a croissant. I also ordered a kids chicken tenders and sweet baby carrots. The chicken pot pie is really good, They make it from scratch. I recommend it. The salad was struggling, the lettuce was not in good condition. But I do love their homemade ranch dressing and their homemade honey mustard dressing, so good! And if you don't know about them croissants, You better get you some because they are super delicious. Anywho, this location had plenty of business so they must be doing something right. Love how welcoming and cozy the entire place is! Many real plants, stone and wood walls, and the big slow fan in the main room really makes the restaurant lovely. AND it's very clean!!! Our delightful server was Maddy who was attentive and friendly and helpful. Her tactful timing was appreciated and we ordered our food. Dad ordered the chicken fried steak and loved it. Mom got the chicken fried chicken and really liked her food also. Hubby got the 6 oz. sirloin and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Rose was phenomenal! She was kind, attentive, and made sure we felt taken care of from the moment we sat down. She checked on us consistently, walked us through the menu, and was refreshingly honest in her recommendations, which we really appreciated. We hadn't been in a long time, and because of Rose, we're already planning to come back. It was my daughter's first visit and Rose made her feel completely comfortable and welcomed. We tried to get a table last night, a Sunday. It was busy as it always is. When we walked up to the hostess stand, the young woman told me to hold on while she answered the phone. Ok. Not that big of a deal, I guess. Then another (older woman, short hair w/glasses) walked up to the hostess stand and attempted to help us. She asked what a good name to use was and repeated it back incorrectly. She asked for my phone number and told us that it would be 10-15 minutes and made a face like she knew that we knew that that was a canned response. This place is kind of hard to find. I drove by it about three different times. It is located inside of an outdoor mall. We had a mixed experience. At first it got off on the wrong foot because we had to wait a long time to get anybody to take our order. I ordered the kale salad and it was basically a lettuce salad with about six little pieces of kale the size of a quarter each. They also offer a house salad. The kale salad looked like a house salad with almost all regular lettuce and had broccoli and shredded carrots. I commented on it a couple of times to the server and just couldn't believe it was really a kale salad and I asked them how that would be different than the house salad because the house salad I assumed would be lettuce and the kale salad was almost all lettuce. The next thing I knew, the manager came over and offered to make me a new salad, a true kale salad, and I accepted his offer. The replacement kale salad was fantastic. I had chicken pot pie. Fantastic. My friend had a burger and that was delicious. Sweet potato fries are amazing. They were barely warm, but at least they weren't cold. All in all it ended up being a terrific experience. I love the atmosphere of the Cheddars Restaurants and I like the food. And I think the prices are very reasonable. We had a sub par experience at Cheddars. It's actually pretty sad because we always choose this as our spot to meetup because of its usual high quality food and menu. Our service was really good despite it being a busy night! However, our food wasn't very good. The catfish was heavily breaded (more than usual) which took away from the taste of fish. The onion rings and the drinks were very good though. So this was a mixed experience. Hopefully next time it will be better food wise. Came here on a Tuesday night would a group of friends around 7:30pm. We were seating right away near the bar area. It seemed like two waiters running the show and being the bartender! Our waiter was great, very attentive even though he had quite a few other tables. We appreciated the fact that he made our table a milkshake even though it wasn't on the menu. The Texas Tea was amazing and beyond refreshing. Plus, the prices on these drinks are extremely reasonable. The food came out in 10/15 minutes or so and it was cooked perfectly! I had the BBQ burger and it was tasty. Nothing to write home about but definitely a well-cooked burger. The fish and pasta dish were fairly large portions, so we were able to take home leftovers. I was so pleasantly surprised with the bill when it came, our waiter was nice enough to split the check 4 ways and it was $22 for a burger fries and alcohol beverage! Great Deal! Review based on the visit of 1/9/25: I come to Cheddar's fairly regularly and usually the service is pretty good. Before we sat down, we were waiting for the rest of our party to come, so we got some drinks at the bar. I got the skinny margarita and it was pretty decent. My boyfriend got the shaker margarita, it was very watered down and not good. We finally got sat and it took about 30 minutes for us to get our order. The food didn't take too long, which was nice. But they were forgetting some of our food. Overall, the food was pretty good, but we had to keep asking the server for things that were missing. Cheddars has a great menu with a lot of selection and I've enjoyed almost everything I've had there. However, every time I have ordered or dined, I have not received the correct food. But I do keep coming back because I enjoy the menu so much when I receive what I order. I have ordered take out in the past that was missing or had incorrect items, which I have let go but it seems to be a common pattern here and why I felt the need to give only 3 stars. We dined in this evening and our server was attentive and friendly. I really enjoy the atmosphere as it's rustic and welcoming. When our food arrived, my loaded baked potato was missing toppings, and my grandmother received the wrong items for her order. I did not want to fuss on my dish because they were busy and it was minimal, but also my grandmothers order was corrected by our server right away, fortunately. However, I put in a to go order, and though I have to take responsibility for not checking before I left, it took FOREVER for me to receive my to go order. I realized we were there over an hour and I just wanted to leave at that point and I had already paid. I was so incredibly disappointed with what I received when I got home. I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap with the coleslaw and sauces on the side. I received chicken tenders in melted cheese thrown together in an open ended tortilla. I know I should've checked my food before leaving as this seems to be a common occurrence. Overall, the food and service is great, if you can get the correct food. Every time I'm in the Denver metro area, we normally have one stop to this cheddars. This time we came by for mother's days weekend which was a treat! It was busy and so we did have to wait as expected. I came with my kids, mom and husband and my two youngest kids were not on their best behavior. The staff paid no mind and was super kind and accommodating. We ordered three honey butter croissant which is a must in my book! So so so good! My mom and hubby had sweet tea and loved it. For our meals , I had the buffalo style chicken tenders with fries and broccoli and it was so good and filling! My mom got the fried catfish with coleslaw and broccoli and loved it. I give it an okay because it was. 11AM on a saturday I met a friend for lunch. She requested a table with chairs, sorry we can't do that because we only have 2 servers so you have to sit in the bar. At 11 am it was well air conditioned. We decided on the Monte Cristo and a Club sandwhich. Both come with an ample side of fries in one of those little metal cone cup things. The club was served on some nice thck bread. It was freshly made. Nothing complicated just a simple sandwhich. The Monte Cristo was very good. Servved with the traditional respberry jelly, cut into 4, batter dipped and deep fried. The batter not too thick and dusted with powdered sugar. The service was very relaxed as we let our server know we were in no hurry and were here to have lunch and catch up. Unfortuantely, he never did mention his name. Server asked small or large and I opted for small. When she brought it out, it was huge and thought she may made mistake of ordering large. Top rim was about 8 inches across.
