I understand they have to learn but customers should not suffer. 30 minutes is just to long of a wait. Ask for the manager. Caleb wasn't there. I wonder if he still work there. However this fragile old man came to address the issue. He told us what we already knew. OUR SERVER WAS IN TRAINING....GRRRRRRR. Visited Sunday of memorial weekend with a party of 8. Will was our server and he was amazing!!! He joked with us and took great care of us. We had to wait for our dessert for a while and he offered to pay for it. He had been so incredible we told him the kitchen was not a reflection of him...so he needed to keep his money. It's a decent place to eat and meet friends. Good food and good pricing. Love their drinks and they have so many good options to eat. Good parking. Good location. It's usually busy no matter what time of day. Nice staff. Very short wait. Order the honey croissants. So good. Highly addictive. I got the chicken Caesar pasta salad with crispy chicken. My family and I enjoy coming here. This is normally our 'go to' restaurant. We came 2 1/2 hours, from pooler to Augusta to do some shopping and decided to do dinner here. The waitress wasn't terrible but by far not the best one we've had at a restaurant. My daughter and I both ordered the same thing (buffalo chicken wrapper) and when we finally got our food 90% of the food that goes in it was left out. Apparently, the cook decided not to inform the waitress of it. Fine, so my daughter ordered the mac and cheese, which I was I unaware they put garlic in it, bc that even tasted horrible. She ate a little bit, considering we've already waited long enough for our food, then had to wait 15 minutes just for the waitress to come back and get a different order. The manager never came to speak to me at my table about the situation as well. We will just stick to the cheddars we have at home! They could actually take some lessons from them. One more thing: you should teach your employees to be better hostess as well. Price was suppppper cheap. Dinner for 2 with apps, entrees and beers came out to 26 bucks. That being said, the food was really greasy. The homemade onion rings had way too much batter, The chicken and shrimp was kind of bland, and my chicken was jerky around the edges. I visited Cheddars about twice prior to bringing my friends there. I enjoy the quantity and the price of the food and have had good service every visit. But my visit yesterday was incredibly shocking and disappointing. My friend is a vegetarian and she specified that she wanted the salad to be chicken free. The salad came out and it had chicken on top of it. This is a simple mistake and she asked them to take it back. The salad came back out, and it was flat on the top as if they had just taken the chicken off. She politely asked if they just removed the chicken without making a new salad. The waitress responded "no, this is a brand new salad. I stood there as they were making it." My friend trusted the watiress and started to eat her salad. She found 2 pieces of chicken after a few bites. I checked to make sure that it was definitely chicken and not tofu. We called the waitress over, told her what had happened, told her to get it off the table, and my friend did not order another dish. The waitress lied to our table. My friend who is a strict vegetarian ate some of the dish that clearly had chicken in it. I was embarrassed to have recommended the restaurant to my friends and have this happen. I am not sure if I will be returning considering they have waitresses that do not correct their mistake and lie to their patrons. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! My family and I went to get dinner 2-27-2021 the wait was 1hr 45min which we didn't mind ! We got to our table the server walked up and you could tell she didn't want to be there and that she had a long night. We didn't mind that at all because my mother and I are both in the customer service business! And we are all human at the end of the day ! We ordered drinks and they almost took an hour to come out my dad had to wait 15 min for a refill! The food came out completely cold and plus hair on the plate . The drinks finally came out and the glasses were disgustingly dirty. The manager you could tell had a long night. Plus we over herd him talking to a server about a table he was having a problem with ! ( "everything we send to that table she makes a problem") so he comes to our table saying " so I hear we're give my server some problems?" So we handled that by just getting to the point and telling him how we felt in a respectful manner ! But It didn't seem genuine at all because we over herd how he really feels about customers in the building ! I wouldn't recommend going here! My parents said it has failed so bad ! It's never been that bad ! ! Maybe they should try new management and retrain everyone in the building! The server also said the bartender left the bartender in training at the bar and she messed up and the manager was in the weeds ! Just excuse after excuse ! Came here with 8 co-workers, including my supervisor, for dinner. Arrived to a little less than half empty restaurant at 6:20. Got seated at 6:40. Our waiter took nearly FIFTEEN min to come take our drink order, and looked and acted depressed, barely speaking above a whisper. almost TWENTY min later we got our drinks. He left and came back about FIFTEEN min later to take our food order. It took nearly THIRTY min for us to even get salads. After another TWENTY-FIVE min (and yes I was actually tracking these times being that my last 3 consecutive visits to this Cheddars over the past 4 years were 1 star visits as well) My boss asked for the manager and when she arrived almost TEN min later, after hearing our complaints she "apologized" with a slightly condescending and sarcastic tone and said she'd go back and check on our food. Meanwhile, we continued to talk amongst ourselves about the horrible service while watching several waiters and waitresses walking around aimlessly with earbuds in their ears, on their phones, looking and acting as though they weren't even at work and could care less about their jobs.... Fastforward.. When we FINALLY got our food, ALL 8 of our plates looked awful. One of my co-workers had the Texas nachos which looked old with dried out chicken and burnt chips AND a spaghetti noodle in them! Another coworker had the chicken finger parmesan and it too had DRY chicken, barely any sauce and dry crusty noodles all around the edge of the plate. The rest of us had various issues, missing items, cold food.. COMPLETELY UNAPPETIZING... I believe that the manager ended up giving us half the bill.. THAT GROSS EXCUSE FOR A MEAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE... We left at almost 9 TOTALLY DISGUSTED.. This is my FOURTH consecutive bad experience at Cheddars and I will DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY not be back!!! Not EVEN if somebody else is paying!!! This place needs a COMPLETE internal overhaul, New manager, staff, training, EVERYTHING. Where are their regional or corporate managers??? NEVER AGAIN! So we start out by trying to book a reservation two days in advance because seating for 25 can be tough to handle the night of. Found out that reservations are not accepted and that we would need someone to show up an hour before our seating to secure our space. OK, an inconvenience but nothing too outlandish. Three of us show up at 5 p.m. to hold our spot in line. 6:30 p.m. they finally have space available. We are seated at no less than four different tables: one long table, two booths, and one table they brought in from the outside patio. At around 7:15 p.m. we finally were afforded the opportunity to order something to drink. Finally received our drinks 30 minutes later. It should be noted that the drink orders were only for water, iced tea, and fruit juice. At around 8 p.m., we were finally able to order. I order an appetizer for the table, a starter salad, and entree. I made the mistake of ordering a steak as apparently in this establishment, steak is something they don't know how to cook. Medium rare does not mean seared and purple raw. 45 minutes later, our appetizer, salads, and entrees arrive at the same time. I know that some people probably don't mind this, but where I come from, appetizers and starters come before the entree. The appetizer was cold, the salad was limp and wilted. Steak was raw. Never ordered a refill on my drink for fear that I would never see my waiter again. At 9:30 at night, after handing over my card to pay, the waiter cannot find my card when he returns from the back. Accuses me of not giving it to him in the first place. Turned out that he had given it to someone else in our party at another table. One of our party tried talking to management about the evening but he was in no mood to do anything resembling his job. DO NOT GO HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT! read more

9/20/2018 - Excellent! We came here from Jacksonville, NC under a mandatory evacuation. We relied on Yelp reviews to assist us in finding good places to eat. We've avoided Cheddar's the entire week, due to its low rating. We finally decided to give in and give it a try and I'm so glad we did! After a week and a half of eating at restaurants and fast food and everything being a hit-or-miss, we just wanted some familiar food and good service and we got it! We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Our waiter came up almost immediately and was very kind and polite. He took our drink and appetizer order. He didn't waste any time and brought our drinks out right away, then took our food order. Our spinach dip was brought out very quickly and was piping hot and delicious. Our fiod came shortly after. My Mom got chicken tenders, shrimp, cole slaw, broccoli casserole and a baked potato and loved it. I tried something new and got the grilled chicken and shrimp, with a pineapple pico de galo, with mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and cole slaw...it was incredible! Everything was seasoned to perfection. I didn't even use salt and pepper. Our waiter politely checked on us a few times and immediately brought us our ticket and a to-go box when we asked for it, then took our dishes away. When we were leaving, we told the hostess' how amazing everything was and how much better this Cheddar's is, over the one where we live. They grabbed their manager so we could tell him as well. They all seemed genuinely happy that their hard work is paying off. It seems like it's under new management and they have been working hard to address the previous issues from earlier reviews. You can really tell they're passionate about making their customer's experience much better. Please give this Cheddar's a try! You won't be disappointed! read more

Ok let me start by saying I went to this place for a random date night with my boyfriend, after he read the yelp reviews and suggested we go somewhere else. I should've listened to him. First of all.. we were seated at a table and sat there for almost 10 minutes before anyone even came over. After walking by twice, a manager finally stops to ask if we've been waited on. We say no, she says she will get someone on it and takes our drink order. Shortly after a waitress comes over. She apologizes and says that the table is in a section that isn't technically assigned to anyone, and she was just told that she would be waiting on us. Which makes no sense at all. But she was nice enough. She verified our drink orders (which the manager had taken down wrong by the way so the waitress had to go and fix the order at the bar which slowed it down even more). We finally order and soon get our salads and appetizers which were pretty good. Not even 3 minutes later the entrees come. Which seemed suspiciously fast. My food was not only lukewarm instead of hot, but it tasted old! As if someone else had ordered it but canceled and they just had it ready to come out! I got the bourbon pork chop with potatoes and carrots. The only edible thing on the plate was the carrots. The meat was so tough my steak knife couldn't get through it. When I chewed it it tastes so old and disgusting I only ate one bite. The potatoes were the same way. The whole experience was terrible. Not to mention the patrons were loud and ratchet and no one seemed to be doing anything to keep the main party making the most noise settled so that the rest of the guests didn't have a bad experience. Cheddar's is a fun and fantastic place! You get a ton of food for a VERY decent price. It's a great place for friends and family to sit and visit for a while. The service is fantastic as well. As we were waiting servers went to the other booths, took drink orders but no one ever said anything to us. It was around lunch time and it was not busy at all that day and I really wanted to eat there while I was in town so I decided to wait about 15 min or so and still no one ever came to even take a drink order or even say hello. We stopped in for dinner and we were pleased! I had the ribeye medium well. It was cooked perfectly. My sides were green beans and a loaded potato. The potato was not hot and not greatest but the rest of the meal made up for the disappointment. My husband had a, full rack of ribs and boy oh boy the rack was huge! To my suprise they had a nice smokey taste and were simply delish! The kids were pleased with their selection too. Visited Cheddar's for a quick lunch today. Our server, Robbin, was very attentive to our needs and caught the missing parts of our orders when the food was brought out by a different runner. Hubs had the chicken tenders basket with broccoli and green beans. He ate every bite and was forced to share with the tot. The chicken was crisp and fresh. The veg was on point as always. I had the Dijon and mushrooms chicken, broccoli and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese went to the tot who ate it happily. The chicken was tender and juicy. Rice came with the chicken and was cooked well. The mushrooms and the sauce were not my favorite things. The mushrooms were over salted and the sauces was sickly sweet. The broccoli was good. We mentioned the mushroom were salty to Robbin. She mentioned that to the manager who came out with another dish of mushrooms. They were less salty but swimming in butter. The tenders will be ordered again. The Dijon chicken is off my list of foods to eat. read more

This restaurant does not accept reservations. So when we attempted to accommodate a party of 13, we were told that we'd be seated "first come first serve". The first members of our party arrived at 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon, hoping to be seated by 3pm or a little after. We were told that it'd be an hour and a half wait - which would mean we'd be seated by 4pm. When all of our party had arrived we decided to mention to the hostesses that all members of our party was here at 4:00 and waiting and could we go ahead and be seated? The hostesses casually stated that they were trying to find a place for us to sit. Meanwhile, another larger party (of 10) and other parties (5 and up) were continuously seated ahead of us! We then asked for a manager, who showed up 30 minutes later and agreed to seat us in booths divided into three tables. So, we basically waited for over TWO HOURS just to NOT be seated together! If we'd known we would have been divided into three tables in the beginning, we could have been seated much sooner. Once seated, we were given appetizers on the house, but the service was still very slow. Our waiter was great and very courteous. But the overall organization of this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. There is a reason why it had been several years since I had eaten here. And, honestly, it'll probably be another several years before I eat here again. read more

Decided to stop and grab a bite at Chili's on the way to Atlanta but I chose Cheddar's since I had never been. The service was promt and the server was knowledgeable and helpful. However upon receiving our bar drinks(top shelf LIT & mixed specialty drink) it had absolutely no alcohol, I mean tasted like pure juice or mixer. Needless to say we spoke with manager on duty (Eric) to ask if they could remake in his presence, but believe it or not the asshole told us they don't remove drinks from bill(as if that's what we asked for). Then manager proceeded to recommend extra shots although we would have to pay for them. So basically we were forced to pay for drinks we absolutely HATED. Even though we tried to explain to his dumb ass a Long island drink has the most Alcohol of any mixed drink yet we got a glass of sweet and sour he still refused to remake the drinks. He then explain that Cheddar's had the most competitive prices for drinks, but what the fuck is a drink deal when your missing the main ingredients ALCOHOL? If giving me juice instead of alcohol is the way you keep those prices lower that's not a fucking deal at all, more like a rip-off. I will never return and I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit. I should've stuck to Chili's, where I was originally going. I left Cheddar's with full bar drinks on my table that I was forced to pay for. Horrible fucking management!!!!!! read more

The food took time to arrive, however when I returned home to check their website, I saw the server's explanation was correct: "Scratch Kitchen, Handmade Food" tops the website banner. When a waitress finally arrived in the area, she elected to take 10 minutes to take the orders for a party of ten people that arrived 5 minutes after us. I noticed 3 tables sat in leaned during our entire wait. Two of those booths were never cleaned during our entire visit. Wait staff was lazy and slow, it took nearly twenty minutes just to get a beer. Our waitress had attitude and refused to look me in the eyes when asking about my extremely late beverage. Floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in over a week. Manager acted like there was no issue with any of this. Two tables near ours had issues as well and had management around and were obviously feeling the same way as us. I'll never be returning to this establishment and will voice my opinion of this place on multiple social media sights to try and get the word out.
