They only put one and a half grape tomatoes on the salad. It could have used more dressing too. The pot pie had a flaky top crust that was overcooked. Personally I prefer pot pie that has both top and bottom crust. This one had a lot af vegetables bot could have used a little more seasoning. Service was quick and food was hot. read more

Our experience at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was delightful. The morning started with a road trip home through Augusta, and we decided to stop for lunch. We first tried P.F. Chang's at 11:05 a.m. After seeing the restaurant opened at 11:00, we walked to the door, but the staff didn't seem interested in letting us in. So, we continued down the road and stumbled upon Cheddar's. We were greeted at our table with a basket of fresh, warm crescent rolls that were absolutely delicious. Upon opening our silverware packs, one of our comrades discovered a small piece of lettuce on his fork. We decided to call it a garnish and moved on. (This is the only reason a fifth star wasn't given.) I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and it was nothing short of delicious. Overall, it was a great experience, and we're glad we stumbled upon Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen off Walton Way. We'll definitely stop by again the next time we're passing through Augusta. read more

Service was slow because they were woefully understaffed. The poor bartender was making drinks, delivering food, ringing out customers, and bussing tables. The hostess was waiting tables so there was a wait to get seated. Food was absolutely tasteless--or it would have been if it hadn't been burnt. There was no salt or pepper on anything. They drizzled bacon grease over the dry burnt burger and bun to try to make it tasty. I ordered my burger medium well and it came out burnt on one side and dry. The food was also cold. I have eaten here three times since this place opened years ago. It will be another 5 years before I give it another try. If I could give this location negative stars, I would. While this franchise has several great locations, unfortunately the Augusta location is not one of them. My family and I stopped in for a late dinner around 10:04 p.m. after traveling from Rock Hill. We were seated immediately, and the hostess was welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our experience. Our server appeared completely uninterested in taking our order and asked us to repeat ourselves multiple times. The baked potato tasted stale, and the salad was far from fresh. To make matters worse, while I was in the restroom with my daughter, the server walked up to my fiancé, pushed the payment tablet toward him, commented that he was "just tired," and told him twice to "pay when you're ready." The interaction felt rushed and unprofessional, especially considering we were still finishing our meal. There was no manager on site to address our concerns, which left us with no opportunity to resolve the situation before leaving. Based on the poor food quality, inattentive service, and overall experience, I believe a full refund is warranted. Stopped by Cheddar's in Augusta and had a really good meal! I ordered the Trio Sampler and the Country Fried Double Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. The Trio Sampler was a solid start--everything was fresh and tasty. The Country Fried Chicken was crispy and juicy, with a good amount of gravy that pulled it all together. The green beans were seasoned nicely, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and satisfying. The honey buttered croissants are AMAZING! Overall, everything was delicious, and the service was friendly. I went to Cheddar's today with one thing in mind -- the Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad. It's been years since I've had it, since I didn't used to live near a Cheddar's, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. Instead of the pasta salad, I only received a Caesar salad. Simple mistake maybe, but when you've gone out of your way for one specific dish, it's frustrating to not get what you came for. The restaurant didn't look busy, and I was the only one waiting in the to-go area, so it shouldn't have been hard to get the order right. My co-workers agree the food is good and arrives at a surprisingly good temperature. What has happened to this place? Used to love going there. They had the best onion rings around and Ive never really had a bad experience there until today! Arrived there at about 3:45pm. The grandson and I just wanted a quick snack type meal. Seated immediately, it was not crowded at all. A server didn't come near our table for 20 minutes. We ordered the triple sampler with double chicken tenders and spinach dip, and an order of onion rings. We then didn't see our server again for about 35 minutes. We then received the triple sampler only. The chicken we barely warm and the spinach dip had apparently been sitting under a heat lamp long enough to dry and burn all of the cheese. It was literally burned to the bowl. I asked the waitress to take it back. After 20 minutes I had not received it, and I stopped a busboy at a nearby table to send a manager over. In the meantime the server showed up with the remade triple sampler. It was much fresher, but still no onion rings. The manager came and I explained what was happening. She apologized, said she had seen the previous plate and agreed it was bad. She then offered to comp our full meal. We ate the sampler completely, still no onion rings. By now it was almost 5pm, over an hour after our arrival. I caught another server at a nearby table and asked her to just ask our server to bring whatever check there was we didn't want to wait any longer. The manager came back and said that she had gone back in the kitchen and dropped the onion rings herself and please wait and she would make them to go. About 10 minutes later she came back with a go platter with the rings. We didn't have to pay. However it was about 5:15 when we left. Nobody let us know, we just realized while eating the soggy chips and spitting it out while gagging. It wasn't just water nope it was very much dirty water. Second time we waited 45 minutes AFTER being seated at our booth and never even had drink orders taken. I just came in and this was f-ing nasty I should've asked for my money back after reading the reviews. It seems to be a repeating pattern. Our server seemed to not care and we had to get up and get our own togo plates. The drink I had didn't have any alcohol in it what so ever nor did she ask for my id. My sister's chicken was more breaded than actual meat , my husbands pasta was chewy and quite disgusting it did not have that new orleans pasta taste. My salad also was brown , wilted, and had dirty on it no joke. The only thing that was decent was the croissants. We accidentally split drink on the floor and we asked for a towel which we received a dirty kitchen towel. Nothing more nothing less. We even had to ask for a refill on the drink ourselves. We wasn't asked if we wanted a dessert , a bag, or a receipt. I will never be back here I will drive a hour the other way for athens cheddars. We were seated immediately as there were not many people in the restaurant at the time. It was a Thursday afternoon. Our server was nice and friendly. We ordered salads but the lettuce was not ready. She apologized a couple of times but it was fine. I ordered the Chicken Tenders and Ribs with loaded potato and side salad. You can choose salad as a side for 99 cents. That salad is large enough to be considered a full size. You can have either house salad or Caesar salad I chose Caesar. I was impressed because it had shavings of Parmesan cheese. It was nice and fresh. I knew from the start that I would be eating the tenders only. When they come straight out the grease they are so good because they are crispy and juicy. No it doesn't have a lot of seasoning but so what. The potato was good and yummy. I took the half slab of ribs home for the next day. read more

We went to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen on a lark. Our first visit was highly unsatisfactory, so it'd taken nearly a decade before we decided to try again. Current vagaries of staffing made our initial wait necessary, but there wasn't a real reason why we were seated for 20 minutes before seeing a server. As it turns out, no one was notified we'd been seated.... While we weren't seated at the bar, the bartender jumped in as our server. She rescued us from a bad situation (seated by the exit door and subject to terrible drafts as people walked in and out), made some great suggestions for lunch, and took our orders. Although the delay in finding a server was disappointing, the speed at which our food arrived was not. It may have broken land speed records. The honey butter croissants were first up, warm, flaky, and delicious. DH ordered his 'standard' bacon cheeseburger, but he raved about the plentiful bacon and fresh veg. I ordered the Country Fried Steak platter plus a side of fried shrimp. I was so pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the juicy, hot, flaky steak I might not have spoken for a solid ten minutes as I dug in. My meal was good, chicken wasn't overdone. The broccoli and rice casserole is one of my favorites anywhere. Appetizers and drinks were fast to get to the table. The meals took a long time to come out but, it wasn't an awful wait. The waitress was very attentive and nice. All of our meals were correct and tasted good. They have a large menu and it made it a good choice for a larger than usual family dinner. Only downsides to our visit were some sections we passed on the way out were very dirty - floor with food and trash all over and the restrooms were very unkempt. I had been craving this place since it has been years and it did not disappoint, just as good as I remembered. I completely forgot they had the honey butter crosante which will change your life and your workout routine to burn those extra calories. We had the trio combo for an appetizer which was perfect so the kids could have the chicken strips and me and the Mrs could have the spinach artichoke dip and queso which was much better than I would have expected and is now probably in my top 5 favorite places for spinach artichoke dip. The food came out in a timely fashion and everything was hot and delicious, everybody left with a to-go box because Cheddars skipped recess and doesn't play when it comes to portions. This is one of the few places you get your money's worth of food and then some. The servers and staff were amazing. The complimentary honey butter croissants to begin our meal were appreciated and so delicious. My mom and I each ordered a salad which came out looking very fresh and nicely presented. I tried my moms crispy chicken which had a nice light batter on them but still crisp. My chicken pecan salad came with a honey mustard dressing but I got a balsamic vinaigrette on the side as well and couldn't decide which I liked better. I don't recall our servers name but he was great. The one thing I noticed a pattern of from a couple of restaurants in this area is that no one brings back coin change if if you pay with cash. The restaurant is very nice on the exterior and nice booths with very narrow aisles between. We were pretty grossed out by the thick layer of dust on the shades of the window at our table. We decided to stop by Cheddars for dinner instead of fast food, BIG MISTAKE. We got seated fairly quickly however that did not matter because we waited 15-20 minutes to even have a server greet us. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time because with how long we waited we had already decided. It took another 10 minutes for us to receive our drinks and by then we were already fed up. When we finally got our food we were not satisfied with our spinach dip, we usually love the spinach dip however this specific location it was watery and looked unappetizing. We sent it back and once we got it back it looked like they gave us the same dish but added cheese on top. The kitchen staff came out and said if it's not good he'll do it himself but very rude about it. While he was walking up to the table he was saying under his breath "I've been dealing with this all f***ing day". If that was towards us or not it is very unprofessional. By the time we were eating we were ready to go and we had lost our appetites. The management was rude, and overall was a very bad experience. Me and my sister are both waitresses in this industry so we usually are understanding and patient because we know how it's like, but this was just unacceptable behavior as a restaurant. We felt like we were being discriminated because we were young and the saying is "teenagers don't tip" but as stated before I am a waitress myself so I try and always tip good but this? The head chef came out and I overheard cussing before he got to our table saying, "I've been dealing with this all f***ing day." I have no idea if this was directed to us or the line cooks, but overall it wasn't great and had nasty looks from both the MANAGER and the cook. Our food came out, the soup was delicious and so was the steak, but the Alfredo was also watery and unseasoned. We weren't being picky, we were just asking from the bare minimum from the restaurant. Our server was new to this, I don't know if that's true, so we didn't blame it on her. It honestly looks like they maybe trained her for a day and threw her out on the floor, so could be a management team. My sister and I both work in the restaurant industry despite being younger. I don't know if we were being discriminated against or anything, but I would not at all recommend dining here.
