Epic fail from start to finish. We drove 25 minutes, paid over $6 in tolls, and got home only to discover our order was a complete mess. We were missing an entire rack of ribs, my husband's Chicken Fried Chicken dinner was replaced with chicken tenders, the sides were wrong, and we received only 2 croissants instead of the 3 that came with our order. Because my husband's meal was missing, we ended up having to make another trip and buy him dinner from McDonald's. To make matters worse, the food we did receive was burnt, overly salty, and honestly not worth eating. The biggest disappointment was customer service. We were promised a refund for the mistakes, but that never happened. Between the incorrect order, missing food, wasted time, extra travel costs, and an unfulfilled promise of a refund, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had. We expect mistakes to happen occasionally, but how they're handled is what matters--and Cheddar's completely dropped the ball. We won't be back. read more

Frank was amazing. We came in with 8 people at the bar and Frank welcomed us with open as. The food was good but the customer service was 5 stars. We came in after morning a family member and Frank made our night. He made us feel so welcome and got us everything we need before we even thought to ask about it. Considering the cost to go out to eat these days, I believe that Cheddar's has super reasonable prices and a great variety of food on their menu for everyone to enjoy something. Their service was quick when we dined in today and our waiter was excellent. He was very nice, attentive, and helpful. I ordered their fried fish and shrimp platter which was a great portion and tasty. Their buttered croissants that they brought out for an appetizer were also the bomb. I know I say this a lot , but yes out running errands. Cheddars, chain restaurants are luck of the draw in my opinion. Nice clean inviting atmosphere. Pretty busy, a lot of folks enjoying a meal. We came late afternoon today for our lunch/dinner after the North Dallas Toy Show across the street. We were seated very quickly and it didn't seem overly busy. Sometimes when's it's busy it's too loud but today it was nice and quiet. We waited a good while before our waitress approached us for drinks, it was long enough that we had time to completely decide our meal. So when she took our drink order we told her we were ready to complete the order with our meal choices. I'm hoping she was just having a bad day but a bad attitude was pretty obvious. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and a raspberry lemonade, my husband ordered a raspberry tea and the chicken fried chicken. She brought our drinks and immediately walked away. I knew as soon as I looked at the raspberry lemonade I knew it wasn't right. It was just water and raspberry syrup and not even much of that at all. Our food was brought out quickly but not by our waitress so couldn't discuss the drink. I finally found the call sever button on the kiosk and she came after a few minutes. I explained the drink situation and she took it and brought me a water with lemon. Buffalo chicken wrap was ok but would have been amazing if it had been hot. The cheese was barely melted which just didn't blend the flavors well. So back to the drink issue, we go to pay and the lemonade that I didn't drink was still on the tab. We call the waitress back over and explain that the drink was still on our tab and could it please be removed. She leaves and comes back and grabs the kiosk. She did take it off. While paying the manager brings me a strawberry lemonade, apparently our server explained what happened to the manager when she was removing the drink from our tab. The manager didn't want me leaving until I knew she was apologetic and that this is what a lemonade should taste like, I took this to mean the manager made it a teaching situation which impressed my Husband and I. We are regulars at Cheddars & have always been pleased. Until our September 30, 2025 visit. They weren't very crowded- we went for an early dinner. The hostess was glum- no smile, no friendly greeting. Either didn't want to be there or just having a bad day. Never let it show! She seated us in the bar area for some reason- our first & last time sitting there. For a "not too busy" evening, it took quite a while for our server to arrive- Moses. He was not attentive- he forgot my husband's salad & didn't offer drink refills when our glasses were empty. I flagged down another server, since Moses was talking to his co-workers behind the bar. He was much more occupied with his co-workers behind the bar- as customers seated at a table, we were not his priority. Our first experience with a disappointing server at Cheddars! My spasagna arrived dry & overcooked, with room temp garlic toast. Moses never asked about our meals- he did the minimum- took our order, brought the food. We completed the tableside survey, but it didn't ask about the food at all. That should be rectified. And the honey butter croissants barely had any honey butter, so they were very dry. When Moses was again flagged down to bring a "to go" container, he didn't offer refills to go. Other servers there have always done that. Disappointing visit, but we'll hope for a better experience next time! read more

We did let the hostess know that no one had come to the table and she didn't seem to care or offer to get anyone. We finally asked to be moved to a different section. When seated, the table was dirty with drink and food. The food was okay, which was expected as it's Cheddar's, not a fine steak house. It's no wonder they're rated 2.5 stars -- the rating says it all!!!! I'm honestly a little disgusted with the takeout food we were given. For the amount of money we spent, the quality was beyond disappointing. I wish I had taken pictures of all the food, but my family and I were so turned off that we immediately threw the food away. I even feel sick to my stomach as I write this. The kids' Chicken Alfredo pasta had a rubbery texture, and the New Orleans pasta tasted (and looked) like something straight out of a 1-star kitchen. The hamburger was not cooked medium well as stated and had a flavor more like an Impossible Burger than beef. Surprisingly, the only thing worth eating were the croissants -- thank goodness for those. Unfortunately, that was the one bright spot in an otherwise awful meal. We will never be returning. Cheddar's is just not the same anymore, and in my opinion, they might as well close the doors if this is the best they can offer. Such a shame! Save your money and make your own food lol. read more

The area we were seated only had 4 tables which included us. One waitress passed by us 2 times and didn't ask if we had been helped or let us know that she would be right back. I approached the young lady that sat us, don't think she was the hostess, started we had not been waited in. She followed me back to my table to see exactly where we were seated, there was a manager standing and witnessing it but she didn't offer to get our drink orders to assist the waitress; she stated let me go find your server. 5 additional minutes went by and still no one came. As we were walking out, no one including the young lady that sat us tried to stop us from leaving knowing we hadn't been waited on. Better customer service needed. read more

It's been a while since I've been to a Cheddar's. The last time I visited one was about 4 years ago and I found more than one long black hair in my food. Barf. After notifying the waitress who wasn't willing do anything about it, I asked for the manager who simply assured me that all his kitchen staff are wearing hair nets. Ummm, I certainly didn't put it there, and anyway my hair is blond. So Today I decided to go out on a limb and give them another try. Different location. They were busy but we noticed a couple empty high-tops in the bar. We asked how long the wait would be for that? Hostess said "No problem I can seat you now." She walks us over and notices dirty dishes stacked on both. She said, "wait here, give me just a moment" and walked off to what we assumed was to have someone bus the tables. We stood awkwardly in the busy bar area for a few minutes before deciding to just sit and one of the high tops to be out of the way. No one came to bus the table. Or offer us menus, drinks, nothing. I went back to the hostess stand to ask when the dishes would be cleared and when we can get some menus? Hostess suffered amnesia and didn't know what I was talking about but handed me 2 menus and silverware to take to my table myself. We waited a few more minutes before we saw a bus boy making his rounds and waved him over. He cleared the plates (without wiping down the crumbs on the table). We waited another 5 minutes, by that time we'd been there for almost 20 minutes total with no one waiting on us. So we decided to just leave. Maybe they were doing us a favor? To be fair before this starts, it is tax free weekend on a Sunday after church before back to school so it is a fairly busy time for all businesses. The cheddar bacon fries were delicious as you can imagine. Next were the main dishes, my mother had the chicken strip salad thing, the dressing was really watery and the chicken well fried but slightly dry but it was good all in all. The serving size however was massive, you almost loose money as a business considering you toss left over food product and don't turn a profit on the food waste. I have the New Orleans pasta and to be honest, it felt more like a Lafayette pasta. It was ok but the shrimp still had their tails which usually does not happen with a pasta dish, the sausage was mediocre and scarce in the dish, only had about 3-4 1/2 inch coins of sausage, the chicken was really big and bland, the shrimp were tough and chewy, the pasta was massive and the sauce was, well, it was just meh. It didn't stick to the pasta well and it wasn't spicy, it wasn't really flavorful either. The serving size was once again massive, was wasteful really. Simple dinner order of Salmon which came over white rice, red beans and rice and fries with water to drink. They were probably at 10% capacity at 5:00pm. It took 20 minutes to get my order. I got broccoli instead of fries. Waiter did bring my fries and very quickly. Salmon was barely warm, rice was almost cold. I'm guessing my order had been ready and sat for quite a while before being served. Red beans and rice were so salty I wanted to spit my bite out but I forced it down. Sadly I had only a quarter glass of water left - which never got refilled. The only hot item was the fries but these were not crisp but very "mushy" if that makes sense. Bad food, bad service and a terrible experience. I will not be returning. read more

We arrived at about 5:45 on Saturday, Sept 20th. We had a party of 6. The hostess asked if a booth was "okay" and I asked if we might have a table instead. We were with family we don't often see and wanted to be able to see everyone. She gave me what could only be described as a dirty look. She was incredibly rude, which I couldn't understand. She had, after all, asked if a booth was ok. A hostess is supposed to be a greeter, but she was an absolute turn off. If we hadn't had a group, I would have left. If the hostess/greeter is not friendly, it doesn't bode well for the experience. Fiortunately there was a tall man working who told her that a table was available. Perhaps the hostess just doesn't like elderly customers. I was very polite when I requested a table, but she still refused to speak again. She never once smiled. Five of the six of us were satisfied with our dinners. One had the Beef Tips, which were cut from a grissly meat. It was not edible. I do not plan to return. We used to love this place but tonight was so ROUGH. Our server was kind but everything was so slow. We spent an hour and a half there. I think it was a half hour in when we got our apps shortly after our drinks. I ordered the steak tips and they were so overdone they were hardly edible. My 6 year old daughter said it tasted like beef jerky and wouldn't even finish one. We kindly said something about it and then were served beef jerky again. It took forever idk if it was forgotten under the warmer. We expressed same/inedible but were just told sorry. I have had years of serving experience where we treated situations like this MUCH differently. Offering to cover that meal or a discount on it at least. It's the first time I think I've left almost an entire dish on the table uneaten after forcing myself to eat a couple bites because I was starving by that point. So I felt like maybe this needed to be warned on yelp. It's hard timers for a lot of us lately, and taking your family to dinner can be a really special occasion these days. This is usually my go to place for comfort food that doesn't break the bank. The soup was good. The cornmeal white fish was hot and good, but the fries and broccoli and rice casserole was cold. It's really sad how food quality has gone down since COVID. Someone should make sure food is hot before it leaves the kitchen. Of course, I will come back but it will be a while. I was shocked at the ratings as I have been to many different Cheddar's over the years with no complaints. Now I know why. Do better. read more
