Yikes. Best part of the experience was that we were seated promptly. After that, things went downhill. Server took a long time to greet us and get even our drink orders. As we had already had plenty of time to read (and re-read) the menu, we placed our food order with our drinks. Everything came out at the same time- drinks, food, croissants. Chicken pot pie had a thin, soup-like consistency. When we were able to flag down our server, she offered to have it remade. We were hopeful, but the second one was hardly much better. After several minutes again, we tried something different with the New Orleans Pasta. That, too, featured an incredibly runny sauce, but at that point we were both starving so we just ate it. Manager comped our meal, which was appreciated, but overall just an abysmal experience. Monte Cristo tasted like water or paper or paint, something like that. Not good. Had to send it back after one bite. Ended up waiting 30 min for a table during a "15 min wait" and we had eight entire families go in front of our group who had arrived after us, and half of them had parties of 6 or more, compared to our party of only four. We were only seated after asking about our place on the list, hostesses seem to have forgotten about us until we reminded them. I was also interrogated over ordering a single drink by both our underage waiter and the manager because I didn't have my ID, however I am well of age and was with all of age adults as well. We live in Heritage Ranch & always go to the "Corral Grill" in the clubhouse (open to the public) - but they were closed for updating. Cheddars does not accept reservations so I called an hour early & got on their Waitlist. We were given a table in the far corner. It was clean & we loved the wood & stone decor. Luckily we got Brittany as our waitress, she was very attentive and made multiple trips, serving us water, drinks , 2 spinach dip appetizers & their signature honey butter rolls, Yum! We had 9 different entrees so we kept Brittany busy. Everything was cooked to perfection & delicious- no complaints. Our salads were fresh & cold (best honey mustard dressing w/a little tang!). Our Fish, chicken & Baby Back Ribs & sides were delicious. My 1/2 order of ribs was so meaty I took a lot home. Brittany kept track of who was coupled & who was single & checked us out correctly. In general, I like Cheddars. Our food was fine. But, this location is soooo understaffed. They could not manage to deliver our salads until after our meal. We had asked repeatedly. Staff apologized for the many delays. My drink finally came after the meal. In getting ready to leave, our server went to get one item, but never returned. They know me and know what i like and they just do it! It's absolutely perfection! They are competing with most restaurants in my eyes. Even the high end lol cations such as La Hacienda Ranch! Cheddars have been the most consistent with my order and they make sure it s right. I adore them for their quality. Nevin the bartender, Brittany the kitchen manager and Matt the frond of house manager (also a shoutout to Josephine who helped me out at the bar! Im sorry im so late!) all these individuals help to make quality happen despite me asking more than whats on the menu! They're fantastic and I'm just a snob about my steaks. To get into the literal meat into it. i always get the fourteen ounce BLUE RARE cooked steak and this location always gets it right. Even if if super rarely come sout rare or medium rare, i cant stay mad at all. They do such a hard job that i turn the other cheek and make sure that they ate properly taken care of. Regardless with my steak, as a side i get the house salad, baked potato or the baked potato soup! Nothing wrong with the broccoli side of course! My beverages of choice are wither the top shelf sangria swirl frozen or the painkiller! Bar drinks but their prices are fucking fantastic! The desserts are going to be either the chocolate cake slice or the cup of dressed ice cream. One will be easier to handle more than the other after such a big meal! Seriously, focus ok what you want personally or share with a friend or two and the dessert with be yours! There are a few other items on the list such as the spinach dip, fried cheese or the ribs. Arrived at Allen location on a Friday night at 7pm and there was zero wait. Restaurant was filthy (you could feel grease walking on tile) and walked by booth with what appeared to be a tray of food dumped on carpet, left unattended with staff walking over it. Service was polite but VERY slow (we waited apx 30 minutes with no communication) and very inattentive (server was apparently not trained to pre-bus table). It's amazing that you can go in at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon and wait 10 minutes at the front stand and have numerous waitstaff walk by but not anyone to greet inbound potential diners. After the 10 minute wait I left and went to Uncle Julio's which far more busy yet I was greeted quickly and seated. Cheddar's has seen it's day apparently and needs to shut down. Ordered the grilled pecan crusted chicken salad. The chicken was fresh and tasty. Enjoy the multitude of large sugared pecans in the salad. I really don't that I am that difficult to please, but this is my second time attempting to enjoy a meal at this location. The first time I came about 6 months ago...I walked out. I waited at entrance about 7-10 minutes and nobody came out so I found my table. The hostess found me and told me that a server would be right with me...5 minutes later we stood up and walked out. Round two, Saturday morning 11:55 am. I was greeted enthusiastically at the door by two very friendly young ladies. So far so good...The complimentary croissants were fabulous. I ordered the lemon-Pepper chicken. I believe they are precooked or at best frozen and microwaved? They were dry, really dry. Wait or was friendly...not observant. He brought tea with just about five ice cubes floating around the top. I asked him for a glass of ice and he brought one quickly. My son enjoyed the cheeseburger but the fries were heavily souses with salt. I am not sure why they do that when salt is readily available at table to season to taste. My family and I decided to try this Cheddars in Allen after we drove around and shopped a little. We had only been to this location 1-2 times before and it was always ok so decided to go back. It was a Sunday afternoon, around 2 pm, when we arrived. While we had a short wait ahead of us, I went ahead and went to wash my hands. Restrooms were clean so that was good but it seems after this, everything else went downhill quick. First, the table where we were seated was not wiped down and had some sort of sticky substance all over it. I had to ask the hostess to send someone over to wipe down the table. Then our waiter was taking a while to get to us. I honestly think they are short staffed because I noticed she was taking care of about 6-7 tables. When she finally took our order, we waited once again which seemed longer than our chips and queso came out. The chips were not good whatsoever. They tasted like they were left out in the open overnight and had no taste of freshness on them at all. I let her know how stale the chips were and she brought out another batch of chips. This time, the chips looked like they were all from the bottom of the pile. They were all little pieces of crunches... Our food eventually came out. I ordered the shrimp plate with mac n cheese and fries. The entire plate tasted like it had been sitting under the heating lamp for hours. The mac n cheese was barely room temperature and the fries were the worst fries I have had in a long time. What a day! I don't do reviews but I want to warn everyone!! This was my first time going to Cheddar's... the other reviews were right. Server was OKAY but the place was so dirty, crumbs everywhere and the glassware was not clean. I saw the croissants were good, I got them but they were raw in the center. My partner went to throw up in the restroom and left the restaurant with an upset stomach. We got the bacon cheese burger with fires, which was alright. There was no salt, it was just dry hard fries. At this point just go to chick fil a or a McDonald's. Overall it was a very bad experience. And left disappointed. Ps. The tablets on the tables to check out were disgusting. Great dinner last night. Anthony our waiter did a great job. Checked on us just enough and at the right time. Just as we were getting low on our drinks he was there to take care of it. No delays. Quick to be seated. Got here at the right time. Didn't take a picture of the food. That's how hungry I was after a 13 hr day at work. Had the sirloin steak with the chicken strips. This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had as customers. The drinks took a way too long to get to us, our waiter played 20 questions with as we tried to order, continuously interrupting, and our to go box took asking 4 times and talking to the manager twice for it to make it to us. It is absolutely ridiculous. And the people next to us, bless their hearts, it was a girls birthday and they waited an hour after ordering to get their food. The floors also are always a bit slick in there but it's only been our second time there. The food was really good actually, we enjoyed the food. But much like our to go box, our receipt was wrong and asked to get it fixed 2 times and same for refills. They charged us for every refill and for extra chips. Those were taken off eventually but it took a while, as everything did. Hire more staff, that will help. read more

They are just so filthy here. The two newest pictures are the first impression as you walk in. Their carpeted floors are full of food and wrappers once you get inside and they don't wipe down the tables or seats very well. Not sure why we tried to come back. FILTHY!!! This used to be a great restaurant. Things have changed! Charming hostess tried to seat us at a dirty table and grabbed dry paper towels to "clean it" for us. Not sure the employees are trained on Covid cleaning. Silverware had bits on it. No warm water in women's restroom. A friend and I came in around 1:00 for a late lunch. We wanted a drink so we asked the server what he recommended. His response was "I don't know maybe a margarita?" So, we had quit going to Cheddar's about two years ago because quality of food and service had gone down. Back in January, we decided to try it again. It was good and server was very nice. We continued to go about every other week. This last visit was our LAST. While our server was very sweet, the salad that I ordered had a live roach in it. To say that we were sickened and disgusted would be an understatement. The manager was horrified and apologized profusely stating they were trying to make some changes. The kitchen manager came out and apologized. The statement about making some changes is concerning as we were wondering if cleanliness has been a huge issue.
