So glad to see the original owner Dario is back at Che Pizza!!! He is really the heartbeat of this pizzeria. Quality ingredients at a great price. The branzino special, penne vodka and desserts were amazing! Thank you Che!!!

Update: July 10, 2024 We try to dine here instead of ordering take out. We ordered Fettuccine Tre Funghi and Crostini de Mare, appetizer. It's delicious. Friendly serving staff and the place is busy since there's the Yacht Rock Gold band concert in the Center Plaza till nine tonight.

is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I recently went here with my family and tried one of their specialty pies which was basil, ham, mozzarella, tomatoes, and garlic - oh boy it was yum! My mouth is watering. Super flavorful, thin crust, and extremely fresh. Ordered a salad - loaded with veggies and equally fresh. The service was fast, not busy, and polite. Clean place - you could sit there or do takeout.

The real star of the show is the food. When you sit down at your table, you're immediately served a basket of warm bread - olive oil is available on the table. This is a nice way to start your meal. The pizzas here are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and they're cooked to perfection. The Margherita is a classic Italian pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. We also ordered chicken parmigiana, spaghetti with meatballs, pasta and rice balls - all were not only delicious, but also very generous in size. One meal is easily enough to feed two people, and possibly three. This is a great value for your money, especially if you're dining on a budget. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Momma Mia! This Italiano restaurante was bellisimo. I couldn't leave New Jersey without trying pie ( aka pizza for you southerners). We ordered 4 pies as takeout and it was ready , hot and fast with pickup. Plus, an order of garlic knots with delicious red sauce to dip. Couldn't resist. I ordered a white pizza and the crust was cooked perfectly. Thin and lightly toasted with absolutely no burnt areas .Delicious. I asked for 2 instead of 3 cheeses and they easily accomodated. A margarita pizza with the right amount of red sauce without any extra oil on the pizza was " deliziouso". We ordered a cheese pizza also for the big guys and a 1/2 cheese 1/2 onion and you would have thought they hadn't eaten for days .They devoured the pizza and ate like Jersy boys folding it in half for fun. It was heavenly. The 7 garlic knots were also perfectly cooked and seasoned with the right amount of garlic for us.Those also were devoured in 5 seconds flat. We enjoyed the pizza pies so much we decided to return for a downtown walk at night since it was beautifully lit up for the holidays and made a return visit for dessert. Dario our server gave us exceptional service both visits in 1 night I might add for sfogliatelle. A light thin lobster tail shaped pastry filled with with a delicate candied Citron and ricotta cheese . My traveling partner/ yelpie and his family have Italian roots .His mom even said the red sauce was definitely made like an "Italian mia" The owners are from Italy, so no wonder the food was absolutely bellisimo and mouth watering. Thank you to Che Pizza Restaurante for making my 1st Jersey pie experience unforgettable.

Authentic New Jersey pie aka pizza. Bellissimo. I couldn't have thought to visit mia Familia without checking out some authentic Italian jersey pizza pie. A short walk to downtown Metuchen brought the most familiar and incredibly tasty pie I've had in years. Four pies for six people was enough to fill us up and have some for later. We ordered a margherita 16 inch pie, one half onion half cheese and one cheese pie. They were cooked to perfection. They have a great selection of specialty pies for every taste. This Jersey boy stuck to the traditional pizza pie and it did not disappoint. Beautiful new restaurant with an ample dine in area. They have additional stool seating to the right of the restaurant for those who just want to enjoy a slice or two or maybe enjoy a sfogliatelle. Dario and his staff were amazing!

I went here with a party of seven people. I am vegan and gluten free and the others are not. Our table immediately got baskets of warm bread assortments and bowls of olives. The bread looked so delicious but I am gluten free so I just looked at the bread and had a few olives. Everyone said the bread tasted good! I was pleased when I got served my side salad that came with my meal. The salad contained red peppers, cucumbers, artichokes and red onion. I also added on the assorted olives that came out with the warm bread. I never get a side salad that is detailed and delicious. My pasta was gluten free and simply made with marinara sauce but I had them add red peppers and it tasted delicious! Others in my party had seafood and sandwiches and all were pleased. Overall, we said we loved the food and service and would come back. We are actually returning this weekend with a party of 18. I would also like to note that they are very accommodating to large parties like ours. That day we had seven but this time I called and they said they can accommodate my large party of 18. Defiantly give this place a try!

    Vegetable slice delicious!

I stopped by this busy pizza place in Metuchen today and bought 3 slices of pizza. One Sicilian topped with eggplant and tomato, 1 Melanzane, and 1 vegetable slice. The vegetable slice was the best one! It was delicious! It was well seasoned too! The Melanzane was very good, but the crust was very dry to that one. The Sicilian topped with eggplant and tomato was good, but I was expecting a little more flavor in the sauce to that one. The pizzas were overall very good and a higher quality than you average pizzeria. The owner was very nice too. I recommend Che Pizza in Metuchen!

The seafood is extremely fresh, the broths are rich and flavorful, and the selection of small dishes is huge. There are tons of options for sides, appetizers, and even BBQ items before the meal. The dessert selection is also impressive. One thing I hope they can improve is the ice jelly (冰粉). The current red version tastes a bit like Jell-O, which feels a little off compared to authentic Chongqing ice jelly -- would love to see a more traditional texture and flavor in the future. My personal must-haves here are the lobster, crayfish, beef tripe, and pork aorta (黄喉) -- always fresh, always delicious. Overall, amazing quality, super fresh seafood, and great variety. No wonder we keep coming back.

There is such a large selection of seafood to choose from, for the price of $63.99 per person, it is not bad especially considering how much seafood and meat costs. Ordering is easy as each table has their own tablet to place orders but my only gripe was that staff need to enter a code before you can submit to the kitchen. Drinks are self service and you can get as many as you like, from sodas, water, soy milk, green tea. There is also a sauce bar that is kept very clean. Decor is amazing as staff informed me that the paintings on the walls were hand painted by an artist from China. For every 2 people, you get an option of a lobster or another type of seafood. Seafood options range from mussels to class and even razor clams. Plenty of meat and veggie options as well. Although this is supposed to be a hotpot and bbq restaurant, hotpot is the only thing available as the restaurant does not have the proper ventilation installed for the bbq grills, although the grills are right next to the hotpot. That's unfortunate as I was looking forward to grilling some of the seafood. For dessert, they had durian which I tried for the first time. It was super creamy and sweet! I've been missing out this whole time! Overall, our entire experience was great and I would definitely return.

We had reservations and were immediately seated even though our full party wasn't there--which was appreciated. Richard was our server, and he was extremely pleasant and helpful. It is BYOB, and there is a liquor store right at the next corner, so very convenient. And there was a decent amount of free on street parking. We ordered some apps --entrees (some ordered seafood boil) others plated meals.. dessert as well. Everyone loved the flavored lemonade. Standouts for me where the crab fries--omg, every bit of a fry in this place was so delicious... from the plain, crab, and sweet potato. They were all prepared perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. My husband was very disappointed in his wings... it seems as though the recipe or chef changed since the last time we were here for the wings and the garlic noodles--they were both very underwhelming. My Canadian King salmon was perfectly medium which I appreciated.. not very seasoned, but I really liked the texture. Some of the party didn't really like how spicy their boil was and with not enough sauce--and their boils are pretty pricey, so that was a bit of a bummer. I heard good things about the dessert, specifically the key lime pie. They were very thoughtful in playing Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday for our birthday girl.. it was definitely the extended version lol.. but it was really cute. Love the music videos playing on the screen in the center of the room. Also a cute touch. Overall, there were some misses, but I believe the hits were spot on, hence my rating.. I would return to try the rest of the menu.

It came in a small casserole pot. Hubs love this place. He loves the presentation of the fish with sides surrounding it in a big rectangular heated platter. I ordered mild but my dish was very spicy. I can handle spice but I feel bad if anyone orders this who can't. I'll include a picture with the amount of Szechuan peppers in this dish. The menu says pork belly but what they actually mean is thinly sliced pork which is not the same. Additionally the menu indicated corn so I was under the impression I would get loose corn not corn on the cob.
