Came here after close to 5 years for a birthday dinner. Was very impressed about how open, airy, and modern the interior was. I just did pickup the last time due to COVID. We had reservations and were immediately seated even though our full party wasn't there--which was appreciated. Richard was our server, and he was extremely pleasant and helpful. It is BYOB, and there is a liquor store right at the next corner, so very convenient. And there was a decent amount of free on street parking. We ordered some apps --entrees (some ordered seafood boil) others plated meals.. dessert as well. Everyone loved the flavored lemonade. Standouts for me where the crab fries--omg, every bit of a fry in this place was so delicious... from the plain, crab, and sweet potato. They were all prepared perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. My husband was very disappointed in his wings... it seems as though the recipe or chef changed since the last time we were here for the wings and the garlic noodles--they were both very underwhelming. My Canadian King salmon was perfectly medium which I appreciated.. not very seasoned, but I really liked the texture. Some of the party didn't really like how spicy their boil was and with not enough sauce--and their boils are pretty pricey, so that was a bit of a bummer. I heard good things about the dessert, specifically the key lime pie. They were very thoughtful in playing Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday for our birthday girl.. it was definitely the extended version lol.. but it was really cute. Since the restaurant wasn't too busy at the time, we got to pick where we wanted to sit. For our starters, we got the crab fries. The fries were nice and hot and they were delicious. I definitely suggest the crab fries. My dad got himself a clam chowder and he seemed to enjoy that. For my entrée, I got the salad with a crabcake. We went here for my birthday dinner since I was craving one of their famous seafood boils! It did not disappoint one bit. I opted to create my own and had nearly every type of seafood they offered - lobster, snow crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, and corn! I added the nauti-crab seasoning and loved the garlicky-buttery goodness. Our service was prompt and friendly and she made great suggestions for food. We also had the soft shell crab app which I hoped would be crispier but was still tasty. From the moment we sat down, Carlos was incredibly welcoming, organized, and attentive. Managing a group of 14 people can be chaotic, but he handled it effortlessly with professionalism and a great attitude. He made sure everyone felt taken care of, remembered orders accurately, kept drinks refilled without us ever having to ask, and checked in at just the right times without being intrusive. You could tell he genuinely cared about giving us a great experience. The food was absolutely amazing across the board. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. From appetizers to main courses, every dish came out timely and exactly as ordered, even with such a large group. Depending on what you order, the dishes were either too much for one person or surprisingly small. It seemed like some items would've made sense as lunch portions or sides rather than full meals. The overall taste and flavor was just okay, though I did really enjoy my dessert which was probably the highlight of the meal for all involved. Our server was attentive and friendly if not a little awkward. Every time she brought a plate over she would say that it was too hot to grab ourselves but then couldn't reach across the table to actually do so making someone else have to grab it from her anyway. Overall, if it wasn't for the rough start with the calamari, I'd probably be open to giving the restaurant another try. I was not able to reply to the lies posted under my original review by this very unprofessional staff. This business should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat their customers. I would not suggest this place to anyone unless you want a bad meal followed by aggressive staff and legal drama. I have dined with this place on several occasions and spent a significant amount of money the last two trips were not great but the very last omg terrible. The owner does not return serious calls, there is basically no management or structure, and regardless of how bad your food or experience are you will either pay or they will file a false report with the police department and drag you through the mud. It seems they are very known in town and can make big problems for you legally if they choose. It is pretty mind blowing honestly and puzzling. Best term I could use is bullies. My mother, sister, friend, and myself were all very sick from the food and not as much as even a phone call from the owner to see how we were or anything just text threats for days as if they didn't want us to pay for what we consumed because they would rather file a false statement with the police and have them pick it up to make a bigger problem but now we will become even more vocal about this horrible experience and nightmare situation. My husband is sadly dealing with such a horrible situation after many attempts to speak to the owner and satisfy the billing he has been ignored, charges pressed on him, and now our lawyer will be handling this matter further. This business has also attempted to slander us because of our honest review. We have all text messages, emails, and phone receipts of our acts of good merit we have never in our lives had such a situation and as anyone can see from my reviews we dine out quite often and are known as great customers everywhere we go. You may cost us time, money, and aggravation but you will not get away with the lies you are posting or the false advertising and over charging you are doing ! The story from the business owner is not factual, we tried to pay for the food that was edible and the restaurant stated well "we aren't eating the bill" we said well we can't eat the food, so their is that. After arguing for several minutes, we felt that this was a stalemate situation and left the restaurant. Again we tried to reach the owner who has yet to respond so we can pay for the food that was able to be consumed as we offered to when we were at the restaurant, The rest of the food was ruined by as they claimed being "short staffed" and they expected it to be paid for even though we couldn't eat it. We are frequent restaurant goers and spend between $500-$1000 every time we go out, a few times at this establishment, never ever had a situation like this before, and never a restaurant demand payment for food they ruined or even offer to remake it. I got a pound of king crab (it's MP and is very expensive but I personally think it's worth it for the amount of meat that comes out), 1 snow crab cluster, 1 Dungeness crab cluster, half pound head off shrimp, and half pound of crawfish, 2 corn, 2 potatoes. Crab Fries was really good, it is French fries served with seasoned lump crab meat with house mayo. There was only one table being service when we walked in and one other couple showed up while we were eating. It's it a really nice area of downtown Metuchen. We parked in a parking garage for 5 bucks and it was maybe a 3 minute walk from the restaurant The ambiance is nice inside. Good music. Not overly loud. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the crab cake entree and seafood rice. The seafood rice was the best thing I've had in a long time. Sooooo delicious. My crabcake was a bit burnt. The shrimp and broccoli have zero seasoning. I cut the shrimp up and put it in my rice. My fiancé had soy garlic wings and a seafood bucket with lobster and king crab legs. The food here is excellent! But let's get the other parts of the review out of the way. We went on a Tuesday evening so it's not busy. The host(owner?) is friendly and sat us quickly. The server, a young man, was helpful. Seating is NOT crowded, a plus. Old and new school R&B played over the sound system. The restaurant is very neat and clean. My wife and I shared appetizers. Chicken wings and fried calamari. The wings are cooked perfectly with a nice crunch, not slathered in sauce. The fried calamari are some of the best I've had. Most places put in the batter and the flavor is the marinara sauce. Not here! The batter is seasoned with Italian herbs and a little heat. Dipped in the marinara and cooked tender (not rubber bands) it was heaven. For entrees I ordered the fried shrimp. As the younger generation say, OMG! Like the calamari, it was seasoned well with a little heat and the cocktail sauce was not even needed (though it was all good together. Seasoned fries were delicious too. My wife had a bucket (it's actually a round tray, shiny buckets are on every table for shells etc.). There was a nice sized dunganess crab cluster, shrimp, clams, potato, a small piece of corn on the cob. It was cooked in a lemon garlic mixture and it was killer. We'll be going back to try other things like the noodles and fried rice (both with seafood). A few notes, you can create your own bucket choosing what seafood and veggies you want included, or choose one of the preset buckets for for 2/3/4. Also, there is a municipal parking lot across the street that seems to only charge until 6 o'clock. Make this your next food destination! read more

This place was so good that I actually couldn't wait to write a review for it. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time on Valentines Day. It was pretty busy and got more packed throughout the night. The music inside was absolutely amazing, and made the night 10 times better. I loved the vibe and music was pretty modern. They have a fairly decent sized menu and combos you can choose from. We tried the Sea Lover combo which was the perfect amount of food for two and fairly priced in comparison to other seafood boil places . You get a big bowl of mixed seafood , choice of appetizer and garlic noodles and two lemonades . Flavors were pretty good and enjoyed our pre valentines dinner . Not only did I wait forever for my order when it came it taste like someone had watered down my meal. They forget two extra added items and when I told the manager he asked it he could bring the broccoli to me for no charge. He appeared 3 minutes later and it was uncooked, raw and wet. He offered seasonings for my food as I asked but the food was cold.
