The prices were a little high compared to other places I have been but the quality of the food was worth it! The ambiance isn't fine dining so I really expected the prices to be a little lower. We liked it! We were traveling in the area and were looking for a decent rated restaurant for dinner on a Monday night. The waitress took her time to answer all my questions and her English was accented but pretty good and very understandable. I wanted Panang Curry Chicken, but they didn't have it. I settled for the Massaman Curry with Chicken. I asked them to sub wide rice noodles for the standard rice. They did this for only a dollar more. That's the least I've ever been charged for the sub and it's the way it should be. My meal was very tasty. I didn't care for all the potatoes in the dish (about a full cup of them), so I simply removed them. My wife had a Teriyaki Salmon dish. It too was very tasty. We'd recommend this place. read more

This is an amazing little gem near Bridgewater State University, serving Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Malaysian food. We arrived at 9:00 pm for a late dinner and was surprised to see the place was 2/3's full. The dining area is small and casual. The menu is very large and rather overwhelming. They also have a full bar including Thai and Japanese beer. Now for the food: We had Lettuce Wraps and Korean Kahlbi Ribs to start. The lettuce wraps were a flavorful mixture of chicken, carrots, celery, water chestnuts served with hoisin sauce - delicious! The ribs were perfectly spiced and grilled - a little chewy but with excellent flavor. The Choo Chee Red Chicken Curry was packed full of fresh carrots, green beans, zucchini, snow peas, pineapple, tomatoes...etc. The curry had all the right flavors with a bit of heat. Duck Basil was excellent - tender duck with crisp veggies and a wonderful sauce. Spicy Crispy Beef and Rainbow Paradise were both amazing! Fresh veggies on all, cooked just the right amount. The portions are very generous, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices reasonable. I would go back here again and again - great food, great experience! This one's a keeper! read more

My friends and I are willing to drive 40 minutes to Bridgewater just to eat here. I always get the same thing-curry laksa mee-a spicy soup with noodles, tofu, and chicken. Just no. A hard no. Now my review is strictly on the food. After my brothers graduation, we were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite and stumbled upon this place on yelp. I wanted salmon but apparently they don't serve salmon before 3pm. Instead, I ordered the pad kee mao but it was made with thin spaghetti-like rice noodles and it had an overwhelming taste of soy sauce, as if that's the only thing it was prepared with...I hate soy sauce! So without tasting my sisters dish, I sent back my plate and ordered a shrimp and basil sauce with white rice and a level of 5 spice. My food tasted salty, oily, and gritty because it was full of non spicy pepper flakes. It was literally THE WORST thai food I've ever tasted in my life and the verdict was unanimous amongst my family members. It was almost insulting because it was so bad it didn't make sense. They were out of three things that we ordered. The broccoli in the vegetable tempura was burnt. The Korean Beef was so tough we couldn't finish it. When my meal arrived they had added vegetables to my meal that was not in the description of the dish. The waiter tried to tell me that it was correct, but once he looked at the menu, admitted that the dish was incorrect. The only reason we went there was because Sugar Cane was closed. I hadn't had good spicy curry since Seattle. Finally a place that has Asian food with actual flavor! The dinners come "family style" which is why everyone says the portions are huge. One order will feed two people just fine, but there are so many good dishes you'll want more than just one order. I had the chicken mango curry, and it was great. Their sushi is perfect. BD and LD go there regularly. We always get the Bridgewater Maki and the Crispy Cream Sushi. The Crispy Cream sushi is one of those things that you worry based on the description is going to be AWFUL but it somehow works so well together. We crave that sushi and every time we go back, we wonder if we've built it up too much in our heads. But, then we eat it and it's as perfect as always. I have been going to Chatta Box since it first opened in Bridgewater, and though it no longer offers the subtle flavors it first did, the food has been tasty enough, so I have been loyal. But today's lunch shakes my faith in this restaurant. For lunch we ordered pork steamed dumplings, chicken satay and a main noodle dish, which I did not taste. The dumplings were largely dough without a lot of filling, though what filling there was was correctly seasoned. The satay was bad: the portions were quite thick and chewy, and it was clear they had been left on the grill too long: the grill lines tasted of charcoal. One of the four strips was really too burned to eat; I managed to chew one down, and we left the other 2 strips (half the dish) untouched. The satay's peanut sauce was separating, but my friend used it to disguise the taste of the noodle dish, which I would not taste at all: the noodles seemed to have clumped together. The waiter had served our dishes and then disappeared, returning only when it was clear we were not eating any more. At that point (about 35 minutes too late) he asked whether there was something wrong with the satay, which was clearly burned. We wanted to leave and were unwilling to accept his offer to have the kitchen "make a new satay" for us. I was unwilling to trust the kitchen to do any better the second time. We were billed for the satay. This is the second less than successful meal we have eaten at Chatta Box this summer. It's a shame, because I have had many wonderful meals there over the years. But I am unlikely to return until I start hearing things have improved. read more

I would have my last meal here, it's THAT good. Despite the fact that I currently live 3000 miles away, each and every time I come home for the holidays, the trip is not complete unless we've been to The Chatta Box. The service is always really good...the staff always have a big smile on their face and are extremely attentive. The food is where this place really shines though. My husband is a really fussy eater and it speaks volumes that he can find things that he loves on the menu as well. Some favorites from the menu: scallion pancakes, vegetable tempura, pad woon sen, pad thai... but really, everything is pretty amazing.
