Love this place a must have every time I am in Bridgewater,MA. I love their entire menu and portions for the price. Can't wait to go back.

We liked it! We were traveling in the area and were looking for a decent rated restaurant for dinner on a Monday night. The waitress took her time to answer all my questions and her English was accented but pretty good and very understandable. I wanted Panang Curry Chicken, but they didn't have it. I settled for the Massaman Curry with Chicken. I asked them to sub wide rice noodles for the standard rice. They did this for only a dollar more. That's the least I've ever been charged for the sub and it's the way it should be. My meal was very tasty. I didn't care for all the potatoes in the dish (about a full cup of them), so I simply removed them. My wife had a Teriyaki Salmon dish. It too was very tasty. We'd recommend this place. read more

This is an amazing little gem near Bridgewater State University, serving Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Malaysian food. We arrived at 9:00 pm for a late dinner and was surprised to see the place was 2/3's full. The dining area is small and casual. The menu is very large and rather overwhelming. They also have a full bar including Thai and Japanese beer. Now for the food: We had Lettuce Wraps and Korean Kahlbi Ribs to start. The lettuce wraps were a flavorful mixture of chicken, carrots, celery, water chestnuts served with hoisin sauce - delicious! The ribs were perfectly spiced and grilled - a little chewy but with excellent flavor. The Choo Chee Red Chicken Curry was packed full of fresh carrots, green beans, zucchini, snow peas, pineapple, tomatoes...etc. The curry had all the right flavors with a bit of heat. Duck Basil was excellent - tender duck with crisp veggies and a wonderful sauce. Spicy Crispy Beef and Rainbow Paradise were both amazing! Fresh veggies on all, cooked just the right amount. The portions are very generous, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices reasonable. I would go back here again and again - great food, great experience! This one's a keeper! read more

I met a friend here for some Thai Red Curry and Pad Thai to share. It was some of the best I ever had and service was impeccable. Portion sizes were ample and we had plenty to take home. The prices were a little high compared to other places I have been but the quality of the food was worth it! The ambiance isn't fine dining so I really expected the prices to be a little lower. Not super expensive though and the quality is great! Go for the great food and portions avoid if you want something more polished or to save a few bucks. read more

We had a pretty big group for dinner (about 8 people) on a week night. There was a good variety of menu selections available and we ordered many apps and dinner items. Our only complaint was the selection of drinks -- we wanted a bottle of white wine and there was only one and it was too sweet for most. read more

My friends and I are willing to drive 40 minutes to Bridgewater just to eat here. I always get the same thing-curry laksa mee-a spicy soup with noodles, tofu, and chicken. I want to try other things, but this soup is so amazing-I've never had anything like it-I order it every time. My friend loves the sticky rice and says it's the best she's had anywhere. I have posted about this place in the past and have always been pleased. Yesterday the temperature in the restaurant was too low and it was cold. A request for another 1 degree was not granted. I ordered the TumYum soup with tofu. I arrived with seafood. The waitress brought another bowl which arrived without mushrooms, The got it right on the 3rd try. I hadn't had good spicy curry since Seattle. Finally a place that has Asian food with actual flavor! The dinners come "family style" which is why everyone says the portions are huge. One order will feed two people just fine, but there are so many good dishes you'll want more than just one order. I had the chicken mango curry, and it was great. The dining room was a little small for how great everything was. It seems like they are set up for lunch, more than dinner. They were out of three things that we ordered. The broccoli in the vegetable tempura was burnt. The Korean Beef was so tough we couldn't finish it. When my meal arrived they had added vegetables to my meal that was not in the description of the dish. The waiter tried to tell me that it was correct, but once he looked at the menu, admitted that the dish was incorrect. The only reason we went there was because Sugar Cane was closed. Great place to eat or get takeout. The staff was attentive, food has good spice and flavor. I ordered chicken Gra Prow and a Sherry pork soup. Very comforting and delicious. I can't say enough about the food. My brother who is with me had crispy chicken pad Thai. Let's just say there was no food left over. The only knock I have is related to the cleanliness, wiping windows in surfaces, I don't want to see any bugs or any dirt near where I eat. They've never faltered on a catering order, eat-in order, or take out order. They offer the classic pan-Asian options like sushi and friend noodles while taking a little risk to introduce some lesser known dishes from Malaysia and Japan. So I've only gotten takeout from here, at friends' houses, but it is ridiculously delicious. I've got two words for you - Massaman Curry. It is SO insanely tasty - so good that I get greedy about it and want to eat it all myself. Everything I've had from here is nothing short of scrumptious - I imagine it's even better to eat in house. I have been going to Chatta Box since it first opened in Bridgewater, and though it no longer offers the subtle flavors it first did, the food has been tasty enough, so I have been loyal. But today's lunch shakes my faith in this restaurant. For lunch we ordered pork steamed dumplings, chicken satay and a main noodle dish, which I did not taste. The dumplings were largely dough without a lot of filling, though what filling there was was correctly seasoned. The satay was bad: the portions were quite thick and chewy, and it was clear they had been left on the grill too long: the grill lines tasted of charcoal. One of the four strips was really too burned to eat; I managed to chew one down, and we left the other 2 strips (half the dish) untouched. The satay's peanut sauce was separating, but my friend used it to disguise the taste of the noodle dish, which I would not taste at all: the noodles seemed to have clumped together. The waiter had served our dishes and then disappeared, returning only when it was clear we were not eating any more. At that point (about 35 minutes too late) he asked whether there was something wrong with the satay, which was clearly burned. We wanted to leave and were unwilling to accept his offer to have the kitchen "make a new satay" for us. I was unwilling to trust the kitchen to do any better the second time. We were billed for the satay. This is the second less than successful meal we have eaten at Chatta Box this summer. It's a shame, because I have had many wonderful meals there over the years. But I am unlikely to return until I start hearing things have improved. read more

I would have my last meal here, it's THAT good. Despite the fact that I currently live 3000 miles away, each and every time I come home for the holidays, the trip is not complete unless we've been to The Chatta Box. The service is always really good...the staff always have a big smile on their face and are extremely attentive. The food is where this place really shines though. My husband is a really fussy eater and it speaks volumes that he can find things that he loves on the menu as well. Some favorites from the menu: scallion pancakes, vegetable tempura, pad woon sen, pad thai... but really, everything is pretty amazing. Had a nice lunch here with some girlfriend this past weekend. We are always looking for new places in the Bridgewater area since it is a mid way point for a lot of us. This was our first trip to The Chatta Box and we enjoyed it. I had the sesame chicken which is strange because I love thai food but nothing really struck my fancy that day. It was good, and I loved the crispy noodles it was served over. A large enough portion, but not crazy huge. The others tried the mango chicken which was served in a mango shell, the basil fried rice and a few other dishes. Everyone enjoyed them, but I would disagree with others who said the portions are huge. At least for lunch they were just the perfect lunch size portions, and the lunch price was just right too! We also ordered scallion pancakes (there are 2 per order so the six of us ordered 3 orders). We enjoyed them, but they were nothing like the typical Chinese food restuarnt scallion pancakes - not surprising since it is not a Chinese restaurant but we thinking really think about this before we ordered them. Two of us also ordered the Mango Tango drink which was really yummy. All in all the food was good, and it was a good place to all meet. My biggest complaint was the atmosphere which felt cold and not super welcoming to me for all the hype about it being a place to hang out on their website. But it was still an enjoyable meal and we will probably use it as a meeting place again. read more

I absolutely love this place. That said, I've never even been there. But I work right down the street and, especially with few delivery/take-out options in the area, we frequently order from Chatta Box. The menu is INSANE. The first few times I had to choose something to order, I think I had to study it overnight to actually review all of my options. Trust me, if you can't find something you want to eat at Chatta, you're out of luck anywhere. My two favorite menu items are the Pad Thai and the Hokkien Mee. Both are noodle dishes that have amazing flavor, are enough food for (at least) two meals, and are excellent quality. I also really like the Vietnamese Spring Rolls as an appetizer - they are super light and refreshing. I've never gotten the sushi here but it's on my list. Co-workers who have tried it have said it was really yummy. But I can just never pass up my favorite noodle dishes when we order from there, so someday I will have to give that a shot. Delivery is also always very fast, efficient and friendly. I will continue to go back over and over again. and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Bridgewater area. read more

I'd read lots of good reviews for this place, so I was pretty excited to try the Thai food there. Well, to put it plainly, I was severely disappointed. I've had way better Thai food elsewhere (like Sweet Lemons (Weymouth) or Bangna Gardens (Kingston)). To start off, I got a thai iced tea. That was okay but could have used more cream, the cinnamon flavor was much too strong for my liking. For an appetizer, we got the Veggie Tempura. The Veggie tempura was too greasy, overcooked (batter was just so thick) and lacked the freshness of other places I've had it at. The vegetables themselves lacked flavor. It was just plain heavy. The peanut sauce we asked for, on the side, was the worst peanut sauce I'd ever had in a Thai/Asian restaurant. It lacked the spiciness I've tasted in the past at other Thai restaurants and it was more like they microwaved plain peanut butter in the microwave. The two main dishes we got were the beef garlic rice and the chicken yellow curry. The beef garlic rice dish was okay but the yellow curry was awful. I guess for a curry it wasn't the worst thing I've ever tasted but in regards to yellow curries I've had in the past, it didn't seem like or taste like a yellow curry in my opinion. It lacked the sweetness of coconut and the veggies were overdone and mushy. I know that this place serves more than just Thai food and that Thai food is probably not their specialty, but it surprised me at just how disappointing the meal ended up tasting overall.
