I was hoping for a better experience. I ordered a Chefs Specialty General Tsos Tofu. The Tofu was the softer silken style not firm, which I don't necessarily mind, but they were extremely undercooked and the outside was too, dough not even cooked and still raw on many chunks. Several chunks also don't even have sauce on them they were just dry. I got only two sickly looking pieces of broccoli. I've been here a few times now--this is probably my third visit--and I always get the shrimp fried rice and lo mein. I have to say, it's consistently delicious! They serve a generous portion, and the flavor never disappoints. Definitely a five-star experience every time , nice lady at the front register every time I pick up. read more

If your like me and you see a place with only 1 or 2 stars you breeze past it and find something with a few more stars, but someone had told me about this place and raved about it, so when i looked at the reviews i noticed they were old, some were over 6 YEARS old! So we tried it tonight and i must say what we got was outstanding. Sweet and sour chicken was fried crisp (think chicken fingers) but still juicy, sauce was a little thin but tasted great. Vegetable fried rice was bursting with veggies, the beef lo-mein had so much beef that it was hard to find the noodles! Seriously looking forward to trying more here, shame they are tarnished with old reviews, but its under new ownership and take it from me, the place is well worth trying. read more

King Garden is the best Chinese food in the town of Bridgewater and surrounding towns! Delicious and generous portions. Important to note...that it has been under NEW ownership since January of 2021. The current owners are hard working and always very welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

Typical Chinese fast food restaurant with overpriced items and sub-par food. Fried rice was cooked with too much soy sauce (too brown) and seemed a bit stale. However, the BBQ pork and fried wonton hit the spot. The sauce for the wonton was a bit too sour and it didn't taste right. I enjoyed eating the wonton by itself. Other reviewers were right about the service. The lady cashier was not friendly or approachable. I understand that she could not speak English too well but even if they come from another country, they should still know about the idea of running a business and provide a good service no matter where they come from. I do appreciate that the chef stepped out of the kitchen with a smile as he gave me my order. He was pretty much the only good service I received at this establishment. Would I come here again? Nope! I liked it much more than I thought I would. I tried this place back when it first opened a few years back...and it was...not great. The other night, I was in the mood for Chinese and wanted it delivered. I thought to myself: "well, that place is still open - can't be that bad anymore". So I took a shot and was really happy. I got crab rangoon (great!), pork fried rice (excellent), lo-mein (a tad greasy but not too bad) and dumplings (really good). We have been regular customers of Mee King Garden (next to cumberland farms downtown B'water) for 16 years, got a coupon for this place and gave it a try-what a mistake. Went to pick it up, asked for 2 extra hot mustard and was ready to pay. The woman actually charged extra for this. Explained how we have been customers of her competion for years and that this was our first visit. She could care less and was rude about the whole thing. Quality of food-poor, smaller portions, less apps in the pupu platters, never included the standard 2 hot mustards and one duck sauce. Good chinese take out in the area. Always our go to guys! Their lunch/dinner specials are always overflowing with food with your choice of entree, rice (friend rice), and an appetizer. Visited King Garden with some Chinese friends and we were all pleasantly surprised. We ordered only traditional Chinese food; various beef dishes, dumpling dishes, rice dishes, noodle dishes, etc... sooo much food but soo tasty! Service was just alright. We will be back. read more

They were good when they first opened but after a few years, they are now terrible. Bad service and mediocre food (at best) and waaaay overpriced. I generally have an iron constitution but i can't eat there without having, how do I say this...? "issues" afterwards. Last time (and I do mean the last time) I ate there (take out - pu pu, house rice, egg foo young) something in the rice smelt bad. Chicken or pork, who knows? I've really tried to make this my go-to source for take out Chinese food since I moved to Bridgewater a year ago but I've given up. The food is better than average, but the prices are too high, they have no website to look at the menu. They can barely speak English and last night was the last draw; finale of "24" w/ some good Chinese food..doesn't get any better than that. Picked up the food at 8:45 & shot home just in time for 24. Chicken Wings were good, as was the Egg Foo Young. The rice was average & just needed one thing...duck sauce. I reached into the bag & let out a blood curdling high pitched yell Bruce Lee would have been proud of. You see, I spent the last 8 yrs in AZ, and their idea of duck sauce is this orange sticky crap. The chix tasted old and fowl, the rice was not fresh and hardly had any pork in it, the steak teriyaki was chewy and didn't taste like teriyaki. oh ya, the dumplings were burnt and chewy. I'm so disappointed in King Garden. I've been going there for years, but ordered from there tonight and it was TERRIBLE. I ended up giving my meal to the dog. Ordered egg foo yong - it was flavorless. Pork fried rice - bland and mushy. Crab Rangoon - still covered in grease - had to use a paper towel to soak up excess. Boneless ribs - full of fat and gristle. Out of the entire order, there were only two edible pieces. It's always been pretty good up until tonight, but I don't think I'll be going back...too many other Chinese restaurants around to take another chance on a bad meal. read more

This was the worst food I have ever had the misfortune of ordering. We spent $80 in take out got it home tried 1 bite of everything and it was all bad. We called to ask for some type of refund and the owner said no. $80 wasted. Save your $$$ keep driving. read more

I don't understand why King Garden got bad reviews. Personally, I have tried several Chinese restaurants in Bridgewater, amongst them one of the most well-known ones are Mee King Garden, and I think King Garden has the best food. I think it's a family run business since I see that the children work there sometimes. It is a little pricey but then again all the chinese restaurants are around the same price and I believe King Garden has the best food. The owner, the woman at the front, is really nice every time I go in. I usually order their peking ravioli (delicious), their chicken wings (crispy & good), their general gau's chicken (also good), and their house special fried rice (love it!). Ordered recently, for pickup as we had received coupons in the mail, had never tried them and figured we would give it a shot as my kids picked out Chinese for dinner. When I arrived to pick up our order, I was met with a handwritten sign on the cash register stating there was an additional $.35 for credit cards. Now, I will say that I can appreciate the cost of doing business and the struggles of small business owners, and that $.35 is small however, I do not appreciate the fact that these costs are passed along so blatantly to customers as an added cost. At this point, I was picking up with three hungry kids & did in fact absorb the cost, and thought ok well if the food is good, I will do it this once (& weigh the option of using them in the future because I really take issue with that policy). Food wasn't great at all - rice overcooked/dry; crab rangoon wasn't flavorful and tasted like a mouth full of cream cheese & overall food wasn't good.
