This place has been open for a while now and the only Chinese take out near us. It's been a good year and a half since we've gotten Chinese, and I'm picky so I was skeptical, because I've heard mixed reviews. We will be ordering again!! Egg rolls are amazing, not like minced meat like most, it was legit distinguishable ingredients slightly sweet and super crispy on the outside. Hubs doesn't eat them, it only came with 1 it was amazing. Duck sauce was perfect. Not super watery thick enough to grasp onto whatever your dipping into it. Perfect sweetness. Crab Rangoon's, delish!! Crunchy and perfect. Lo Mien was great big fresh veggies in it. Hubs said the chicken wings and boneless spareribs were really good, I didn't try these. The only reason for 4 stars was the rice. Terrible. Dry and tasteless. Even with a bath of duck sauce it was bogus. Called in the order, man on the phone was very nice, and order was promptly ready in 20 mins!! Overall great experience! read more

Bartender was horrible, rude and disrespectful, would not make me a pot of tea as I sat at the bar to eat and play keno. Talked to the older gentlemen at the bar about her boobs. And breastfeeding. Never came over to me and my friend. Tried to speak to a manager to complain but keep getting told she's not there. The owner should know about the rude service by this bartender. I have avoided coming here for a while due to not-so-great experiences in the past but decided to give it another try. I ordered over the phone: a small chicken and rice soup, and a small vegetable chow mein. I asked about each dish to make sure there were no onions, because I have a serious allium intolerance. She told me twice, no onions. Surprise! Green onions in the soup(?) which *are* alliums and clearly were put on top of the soup right before serving it. The soup turned out to be 90% rice in chicken broth, with some bits of chicken at the bottom. It ended up tasting more like a porridge or congee, which was disappointing but mostly OK after I got all the green onions out. They didn't give me any crunchy noodles with the chow mein- the "chow" part literally means noodles. I had mein-less chow, and I was so frustrated with myself for not checking the bag before I got home. It feels like the restaurant has gotten careless and I miss the old location that used to be down the street, it was amazing and nothing has ever compared. When I called to place the order, I asked if they had tap to pay and was told twice, no. I picked up my food from the restaurant side but I am pretty sure their terminal *does* have tap to pay but was unable to confirm... Just a warning that you might need to pay cash here if you don't have a physical card! read more

I found the food to be very tasty and fresh, the portions were not so big, especially the rice, they don't give you enough rice. The waitress was a little snippy and rude. The restaurant was clean. I do want to stress the food was very fresh and very good. If your hungry order from the dinner menu, it's worth the extra money. I will go again read more

Experience at the bar horrible. Was there for a couple of beers and keno. Asked what beer was on draft, I was told "what's over there" Bartender not friendly at all. Only flirted & talked with the older men. She complained about getting tea for my friend and said "I have never had anyone ask for tea at my bar, I don't know how to make it, guess I'll be back in an hour" In all my years, I have not run into such a rude bartender. I felt compelled to give this review as a result of mixed emotions- Here's the main gist after several visits to this restaurant. Food: very good. Service: TERRIBLE! Never before have I known any restaurant where I could rave about the food, but the service is totally cringe. Our waitress here has all the charisma of a cross between a NAZI prison guard and a lady villain from a James Bond movie. Totally unacceptable- bad attitude. If it were up to me, I would have left no tip, but the other diners in my party were too polite for that. What's worse is she's apparently the only server available for dining room patrons. We tried Happy Dragon in Halifax near Walmart after a hiatus of a few months and some changes have been made. We placed a take-out order for dinner and are we glad we did! The food was great. All of it. Best Chinese on the south-shore. We started with hand made delicious, gingery, garlicky pan fried Peking ravioli for an appetisers, followed by Kung Pao chicken, Moo ski Pork and Eggplant with garlic sauce - all top notch and delicious. Our order was placed at 6 pm and I picked it up at 6:15, despite an estimate of 20 minutes. The restaurant is divided in two, the comfortable, spacious dining room on one side and the bar on the other. Nice to have that division for families' sake. Very reasonable prices, plenty of free parking and five star, delicious Chinese food close to home. We'll be back. Often! read more

To the not so happy old lady dragon behind the bar. Never speak of anyone's children ever. We were just there to celebrate a 10yo win to enter the finals and the game was over at 8. This lady decided to negitivly talk about our children being in a "bar" at 10pm. We were a large party of about 15 seated in the dining area. 6 being children. None of us drank. Nor had any prior interactions with the bartender. We had got there around 8:30 and were finishing up by 10. The comment was unnecessary expeciay when it looked as if there were about a handful of regulars sitting at the bar, it was dead. We were in the dining area. Unbeknown to the bartender there was also a another family of 4 with one player from the team also celebrating with his family separate from ours. No one thought it was weird. The comment was not needed. She single handedly just caused a large amount of people who we bring to there- a lot of businesses. Needs professionalism and class behind the bar. You can get better food elsewhere and don't have to deal with the judginess. read more

We have been to this restaurant a few times in the past 6 months. Ate in the restaurant twice this summer and it was great. We have also gotten take out one time in the past 6 months. Which was also great. Tonight is New Year's Eve and we really wanted to have the great food we had over the summer. 1 visit so far. Mixed bag. I want to give it 3 1/2. It might get up to a 4. We ordered a tidbit platter of appetizers, and the house special combo lo mein. Egg roll was exceptional, the best we've had in this area. Filling was nice and crunchy, roll was fresh and hot and not overly greasy. Chicken wings flavorful, one moist but the other somewhat overcooked. Chicken fingers, meat good but way too greasy. Pork strips, good taste but several pieces dry and overcooked. The lo mein was, overall, good, though we found it somewhat shy on vegetables. Portions were bountiful. For around $20 before tax and tip we walked away from dinner plenty full and with enough leftovers for lunch for two. Service was lackadaisical. The waitress never stopped back to ask how the food was, or to offer to refill our water glasses. Despite some negatives, we plan on a return trip to sample some more of the menu and see if they can up their rating. read more

The decor is almost identical to All Seasons, they didn't change much at all. The staff are not at all attentive, they took our order, Brought the food, and aside from the check, didn't see them at all. Most importantly, the food tasted OK, not really great or good. All the food had an odd similar flavor almost as if they cook in a little vinegar, just a very odd taste. Neither myself or my daughter wanted to bring our leftovers home. PRO First, let me say that I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food. I prefer Thai or Japanese. I have an elderly friend who likes Chinese food so we went out to eat one night at Happy Dragon. Both of us were very happy with our meals. The food was fresh and good, the portions were large and the prices reasonable. We enjoyed it so much we went again a couple of weeks later and had the same experience. Happy Dragon is on our list of favorite restaurants. CON After we ordered, the waitress visited us only once, when she brought the food to our table. She was not a particularly pleasant person. We did not automatically get tea with our meal as you do in other Chinese restaurants, but had to ask for it. read more
