Wild Ginger has some of the best Thai food in the area. From soup to entrees', it's all really fresh and tasty. The servers are very quiet but very nice at the same time. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.. it's a bit of a ride for us but out shopping today gave us the opportunity to have lunch. My only complaint would be that they DO NOT offer luncheon specials on the weekends... still worth it.. just ended up taking enough home for us to have another meal. The fried ice cream is a work of ART and the crab Rangoon's were mouth watering. But they should put fried crab on the menu because they are so close to the water. Their service was vey fast and efficient. read more

If you're looking for lunch, this is the perfect spot. The food is very good. It's beautifully presented. We got pad thai (for a special diet), gra pow with egg and brown rice, and crab rangoons. The latter were fat and lush, with a thick tasty filling -- almost like a savory cream puff. This might have been the first time I've actually seen the rangoon filling. The gra pow with egg was amazing -- gorgeous in presentation and delightful to eat. Perfect balance of spicy and brown. The egg was textbook sunny side up. I stabbed it with my fork and it spurted all over the chicken and beans. So good! And enough to take half home. (And this was the lunch portion!) I didn't eat the pad thai but it looked fresh and tasty. The ambiance is clean and quiet, more suitable for lunch or a quick dinner. No table cloths or anything like that. They do a lot of carryout. Best Thai spot in the South Shore. Orders are always on time and they pay attention to special directions. The food is amazing- everything on the menu is extremely good. They also have large portion sizes (they really fill the whole container so I would say it is definitely worth the pricing). If this place was an album it would be no-skip. I ordered several items for takeout: * Thai Rolls * Drunken noodles (beef) * Pad Thai (chicken) * Crispy Chicken Basil * Crab Rangoons * Chicken Wings * Pineapple Fried Rice (tofu) * Crispy Duck Fried Rice * Massaman Curry(chicken) Portions were generous. However, I thought a lot of the dishes tended to be on the sweet side, especially the Thai rolls(w/o even dipping in the sweet and sour sauce). The crispy chicken basil was more sweet than spicy. This is a small and charming restaurant that once inside, you'd never guess was right off a busy main drag. Colors and lighting are soft and muted with attractiveThai design throughout. After a holiday weekend of too much culinary excess and indulgence with family, the lightness and freshness of this food was just what we craved. We arrived with friends a little after 9PM over the Memorial Day holiday . 9PM in some places can be considered a tad on the "late" side for dinner these 'burbs. We were therefore delighted to find there were still tables occupied by other diners and the mood convivial and not of a place starting to wind down for the night. We were greeted warmly as we were brought to our table. Our group shared a number of appetizers including edamame, veggie Thai rolls, fried tofu triangle and scallion pancakes. Each was hot, freshly made and sincerely delicious. For an entree I ordered spciy tofu with assorted vegetables. I wanted a real kick and I got one in this dish. I like spicy and when it says spicy, I expectit to be. As with the appetizers, this dish was fresh, clean-tasting, and not at all heavy. Others ordered pad thai (which comes in a vegetarian version), a beef salad, ginger shrimp, and udon basil with tofu. Everyone really enjoyed their selections and despite all the other weekend food festivities we all dug in with enthusiasm. I can't believe, with the proximity of this restaurant to our home, that we'd not been here before. We will most certainly be returning here on a regular basis. My only complaint was that the wait-staff didn't return to fill water glasses or to see if anyone wanted seconds on beverages. Nonetheless, the staff is lovely, clearly hard-working and cooking up a fabulous storm of Thai food. Had dinner here Friday night, first time in many months since I've been doing almost all cooking at home. Was so happy to see the place hopping, both with diners and take-out orders. We started with the Som Tum salad to share, similar to the Vietnamese salads we always start with at Pho 98 in Randolph. My husband had his favorite Superior Duck which is truly superior - a half boneless duck plated beautifully with sliced mango, a sauce laced with cranberries, and topped with crispy Thai basil. Where else can you get a half boneless duck dish for just $19? I was craving hot and spicy so it was the hot and spicy Thai chicken for me - a plentiful portion with a bounty of sliced chicken and al dente vegetables in a sauce just as spicy as I like it. I love this spot for lunch or take-out. Fabulous service at this smaller restaurant nestled in a small section of Route 53 - they strike the perfect balance between speed and attentiveness. My go-to is their pineapple fried rice (which is delicious!) so I don't stray far from that. I've tried a few other things and can't say I love their Japanese dishes (gyoza and crab rangoon weren't my favorite). My husband's a far more adventurous diner than I am and he's sampled a lot more of the menu, always giving a thumbs up to what he's tried. Parking can be a pain at the height of lunch hour but we've always been able to get a spot, even if we have to go around back. Takeout orders have been ready in 20 minutes or less. read more
