Yay for the sushi, nay on the Chinese food... My husband and I ordered sushi & Chinese food for take out. Sushi tasted fresh and was a good portion size. For the Chinese food, I was impressed with the crab rangoon and beef teriyaki; rangoons were overstuffed and creamy as can be while the beer teriyaki was some of the most tender and flavorful I've had in a long, long time! However, the fried rice was not that great. It tasted bland like it was missing something. The major crime committed here: orange duck sauce! I prefer the brown kind. Anyways, I'll probably be back for more sushi in the future :)

Sushi was good, but the rice was a little too sticky so it was a bit hard to eat and the aawsabi was little spicy bit not too spicy. Came out quickly and was hot so service is good. A small shop in the middle of nowhere but very nice and cute.

Delivery took longer than usual, over 45 minutes, but food arrived hot and I appreciated being able to swap the chicken fingers out with an egg roll. When it arrived it smelled fishy though I hadn't ordered anything with seafood; upon opening the miso soup, I realized where the smell was coming from and still attempted to taste it which was a mistake considering how awful something so bland can be...honestly mind blowing. The soup put me off for a while and I wasn't in the mood to eat anything else ordered, spicy edamame, white rice, beef teriyaki, boneless spear ribs and an egg roll. At least it's Chinese food and will be good later. Honestly the soup is the first thing I've ordered that was bad and considering the subpar options for Chinese/Japanese cuisine in the area, it's not going to prevent me from continuing to patronize the establishment, I just won't order soup.

Sushi here is very good! Spot is small but my go to for sushi! I have enjoyed every roll I've had here! Service is alway fast and friendly!!

I ordered too much.

Holy cow, talk about the whole book/cover adage coming to absolute life with this unadorned, and otherwise missable walk-in in Rockland. Big ups to Yelpers for floating Spicy E to the top. Chirashi is a hefty portion of impossibly fresh fish. I swear there's some magic in cryogenics going on behind the scenes here because each piece of sashimi was expertly cut, buttery soft and clean on the palate. And the veggies - bright, firm and crisp, complementing the their textures beautifully. I also went angry dragon roll because I thought I'd be able to eat beyond the salad and miso soup that came with the chirashi donburi (spoiler: I couldn't. This review covers two meals), and it's spectacular. Mango offsets a melange of spicy tuna, crab and shrimp tempura in a fairly unique maki. Hell, even everyone's favorite grease tube - the egg roll - was hot, crunchy and with no excess oil. This place is awesome - excellent food, reasonably priced and with zero food coma afterward. Get past the storefront and trust your gut, Spicy Edamame is straight fire.

This was our first time back to GG in a couple of years - yikes! And not gonna lie, it was…read moredisappointing. We had takeout, which was packed carefully and packaged as neatly as ever - the hot items in one bag, the cold items in another bag -to make it home in a reasonable time. Where things went wrong: Chicken Teriyaki skewers had zero teriyaki glaze and instead were coated - WELL COATED - in a non-removeable green curry covering. There was absolutely no connection between these skewers and teriyaki. None of us cares for curry, so that was trashed since the cat sat back and said "absolutely not!" Pad Thai with the Chicken and Shrimp option had two (2) medium shrimp, so I guess that counts as multiple shrimp . . . the chicken was dry but at least it was plain, no curry. However, unlike the well coated curried skewers, there was virtually no Pad Thai sauce. The sauce that makes the bland rice noodles come to life was MIA. After much discussion and pulling the stuck together noodles apart, we did think that a very scant spoonful of sauce had been added to the very center of the container, making it a bit more Pad Thai-ish than the bare noodles in the other 2/3 of the takeout container. Pulled out the chicken bits and those two shrimp and trashed the rice noodles because I didn't even have a store-bought packet of Pad Thai sauce on hand to zhush it up! On the cold side, the go-to order of sushi Chirashi was good, fortunately because we were down two dishes out of three! Note to self: live and learn, keep to the Japanese side of the menu, and stop expecting a restaurant to do more than one style of cooking well, it never happens the way you hope it will!

It was really great. I am a white woman raised by white parents. In the 80s my dad went rogue into taekwondo for a black belt and immersed himself fully in the culture. He began making Szechuan food. I've eaten a lot of Chinese and Asian food and i don't usually go for it because there's so much bad and greasy. I prefer Japanese, usually, but when my dad started cooking Szechuan, we tried a wide variety of very authentic restaurants in Boston Chinatown, I know what I'm eating. This one hits the mark. We tried three things for range and shared. A beautiful rare black pepper and sesame seared tuna over salad, with super fresh fish, the level of pepper was on point. It was great. We had the pu pu platter for one which was a ton of food and delicious. The spare ribs were tender, the marinade on the chicken wings was so nice and the crab Rangoon were little fatties and fully stuffed with the perfect blend of crab and cream. We had the crazy chow fun (foon) with beef but without the spiciness so it was regular beef chow fun. Again the meat was tender and the wide noodles had the right amount of sauce. I had a scorpion bowl, it hit. I've seen some ugly reviews on here and honestly think two of the people whose last names start with S worked together on bashing this place, not cool Brian and Jen. Take out food will always be compromised by packing it, steam and travel. Don't judge food like that. This is the place for a fun first date, get a scorpion bowl for two. Get lit and share the Pu Pu platter to start. Check your compatibility on the old school Chinese zodiac placemat, love this. The ambiance is sultry red and dimly lit. People were definitely enjoying themselves. Gave me all the feels and memories of dark lounges, dens of iniquity, red lamps of my twenties. Ahhh...miss that time. I'm a hard sell. Gourmet garden is really good, and you should go. This is something I have should have enjoyed many times over by now.

Respectable looking dining room with respectable looking Asian art, as opposed to heavy-duty tiki decor (not that there's anything wrong with either). Separate bar. Very deep and easy to navigate menu, most notable for combination plates being available around the clock and many of the classic items available in both small and large sizes. Egg Roll: Crisp shell with an interesting concoction inside, boasting chopped celery, carrots (not common), pork crumbles, and an unusual seasoning sort of along the lines of five spice but even more fragrant. A little crunchy, a little moist. Above average. Wontons: Crunchy. Nothing special but nothing wrong with them. Standard. Spareribs: Good sized bones with white cross sections, bright red glaze adequately applied, and some char in almost every bite. Juices trickling. Well above average to near-elite, but on a scale of how much it takes you back to the golden era of old school New England Chinese Food, it's off the charts. Chicken Wings: More crisp than they looked, with juicy interiors and a pleasing five spice flavor. Well above average. Sweet and Sour Chicken: A small order still netted at least a dozen large golden nuggets, perfectly crisped. A little heavy on the oil and very light on the chicken compared to the batter. Sauce was served on the side in a small bowl with a very small amount of it, enough for barely half of the fingers. The sauce itself was a little darker than most and very, very, very thick, like cold honey. Decent standard flavor, no surprises beyond the rigid sludgy texture. Two pineapple chunks. All things considered, a little below average, but doable. Pork Fried Rice: The moment I was waiting for turned out to be a little underwhelming. Yes, the rice was darker than most. No, the flavor didn't live up to that color, and neither did the moisture; it was a little on the dry side. Also a little less pork than most. It certainly wasn't bad; I'd say slightly above average. Lobster Sauce: Dark, smooth, strong flavored, not salty, and just a hint of gloppy. Good cling to the rice when added and very enjoyable for both flavor and texture. Definitely above average. Moo Goo Gai Pan: This is a dish I haven't had for at least 30 years, so I can't really compare to the competition. Sure, it was very subtle of flavor, but the chicken was of high quality, cut well, tender, and moist. Service was excellent. Value was excellent. Parking was easy. If I lived nearby, I'd go fairly often.

No parking. Run down food is just ok. Nothing to talk about. Staff was ok. Won't be back.read more

My son went in the restaurant to pick up the order. I did not notice until we reached home that he did not have the 2 cans of soda which I had selected as "free" items. I called the restaurant to let them know the mistake. The lady who answered was very rude and said I got free rice with the Pu Pu Platter for two. However the menu includes the rice with the platter. It's not the fact that I didn't get the sodas as indicated on the receipt because I could easily purchase sodas. The fact that the representative lied and was not concerned about good customer service and would not admit a mistake. My family has bought food from Cafe Asia for over 15 years as we live less than a mile away. But they are now on my "NEVER WILL I EVER" list from this day forward.

The ambiance is perfect - really cool decor, a classy atmosphere, Brazilian music playing, and lively but never too loud. Service is always prompt and very friendly. You can tell from the moment you step in that this place is where all the local Brazilians go, which got me excited to try some new things! I had never heard of Brazilian sushi before, so I was excited to try new things. I asked for recommendations, and everything suggested to me was absolutely delicious. The thin slices of salmon wrapped around lemon and passion fruit mousse were absolutely to die for. All of their sushi was so fresh and delicious! On my first trip to Space bistro, I ordered several sushi dishes a-la-cart, but on my return trip, I tried the all-you-can-eat option to be able to sample even more sushi dishes. Both were excellent options! My husband is not as much a raw fish guy, so both times he ordered the Brazilian steak with rice and fries. He loved his food each time and also had a great experience.

With very little social media presence, we assumed it might be a hidden hole-in-the-wall gem -- unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The menu was difficult to navigate, with most of it written in Portuguese and only vague English descriptions. It honestly felt like we were trying to study with a dictionary just to place our order. The AYCE option was also steeply priced at $60 per person, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. Service was slow and unhelpful -- there were no check-ins, simple requests like ginger and wasabi took a long time, and not everything we ordered even arrived. It also felt like we weren't particularly welcome, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. We also noticed that most of the guests dining there were European, and we were the only Asian customers in the restaurant, which added to the feeling of being out of place. Although their online presence did not indicate that reservations were required, we were told we could have a table only if we agreed to leave before the next reserved party arrived -- even though the restaurant was still more than half empty at the time. After nearly two hours, our group of four had only managed to receive about 12 pieces of sashimi, 5 hand rolls, and 5 maki rolls total. At that point, we gave up and realized we should have just ordered à la carte. The sushi quality itself was decent, but overly "bougie" in unnecessary ways -- the nigiri seemed brushed with oil and salt instead of showcasing clean, fresh cuts of fish. Additionally, many rolls contained cream cheese even when it wasn't listed, which is important for those who are lactose intolerant. Overall, we really wanted to like this place, but between the confusing menu, slow service, high price, and inconsistent execution, it fell short. Hopefully, they refine their process, because the concept has potential. We will not be coming back.
