Went there first time and was pleasantly surprised. Great food. Friendly place. Good prices. Now it's my go-to place.

Just passing thru, I have to catch the Bridgeport Ferry back to Port Jefferson. Before I leave New…read moreEngland, I want to have a hot cup of Clam Chowder for lunch. I'm driving and on a work call but all I'm thinking about is my Clam Chowder. Mmmm... Freshly shucked clams with oyster crackers! Give it to me now! I have a parking spot right in front and I'm scanning the soup board. There's no clam chowder listed? I approach the counter and ask the woman about Clam Chowder. A guy wearing a Red Sox Hat said to me, we only clam chowder on Thursday. We have Corn Chowder today. The woman behind the counter shakes her head in agreement. It's very good! I agree with them, I grab my corn chowder and head to a Tesla charging station in Rhode Island. Once I plug in the Tesla, I open my container of hot soup. The Corn Chowder is good! Very creamy and dreamy. Is it Clam Chowder? No. I kinda feel the same way when the Red Sox lose to the Yankees. So close. So close! Haha

Destination Soup is a small venue, but it's BIG quality and taste…read more Our first visit to Destination Soup was confusing with all the hustle and bustle around the ordering/pickup counter, and I was totally unprepared to order. But the kind counter worker helped me thru it. Our meals were great! G ordered the Wunderkind Salad with Tuna Salad. The counter worker said it was the healthiest salad in town . G said it was one of the best salads ever. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup (finally). And I loved it -- thick, rich, and tasty. But next time... a cup of soup and a mini sandwich.

"My grandma she can make a soup With a little a this 'n that…read moreBut with grandma cookin no need to worry! Just a little a this 'n that" (Pete Seeger) My final review of 2022 will describe the worst customer service we encountered all year. We had an errand to run in Sturbridge and figured we'd include a lunch stop in town. The Yelp app brought us to Soup to Nuts. #1) I love soup and #2) it's located inside the Sturbridge Marketplace, so we figured we'd do some shopping and browsing too. When we approached Soup to Nuts we saw a sign that said they opened at 11:00. The front door had another sign that said they opened at 12:00. Since the door was locked, and it was about 11:30, we figured we'd check out the Sturbridge Flea Market and come back. At 12:02 their front door was unlocked, and the sign announcing the 12:00 opening was gone. As we entered the restaurant, we were "greeted" by four words spoken (or more accurately snarled) in a very gruff and rude manner - "we're not open yet". Tone of voice matters, and I will look you straight in the eye and put my hand on a stack of bibles and tell you his tone was beligerant and angry (to the point of aggressive). It was beyond rude. It was shocking. So we turned around, left and never came back. Happy New Year ya filthy animal.

I will say that on our first visit we thought the owner was initially a bit gruff as others had mentioned but we quickly realized that's not the case and he is an incredibly gracious host. We've had both the corn chowder and sandwiches here and they are delicious! Keep in mind with some reviews that people are the problem and not the establishment.
