My biggest complaint about this place is that there isn't one closer to me. Service was very friendly-jovial even. It was a super cold day when I visited and I asked for a coffee. They let me know that they didn't serve it, but blew my mind in telling me that I was welcome to get some elsewhere, and bring it in... which is exactly what I did, while they made my totally fantastic tuna sandwich. As someone with a dairy allergy, I appreciated that they knew exactly what was in their food... even down to whether their multigrain bread had any milk in it...it delightfully did not! I love mustard and the tuna had a strong mustard base, so you should just know that flavor will be present before ordering. I really liked the community vibe in the restaurant and the ambience... Perfect 10/10 on the chicken Caesar wrap!!! I honestly am trying to think of anything I didn't like but the chicken was shredded and moist and very flavorful, the dressing had to be homemade because it was VERY tasty, just enough croutons to give it a nice crunch and the lettuce MAYBE could have been a tiny bit crispier if anything. All around a great sandwich, they said to try the Beast roast beef is their claim to fame I didn't try it it was the first and only time I've been but would definitely come back if I'm the area. We weren't starving and just wanted a small something to hold us over til dinner. My mom got a tomato soup and I got half a sandwich (the buffalo chicken grilled cheese). I was impressed by the size and price of the half sandwich. I liked the pulled chicken, buffalo sauce, and bleu cheese inside of a perfectly toasty and melty grilled cheese. My mom also liked her soup. We would both gladly eat here again. Service was friendly. Prices were great. I wish this place was located in my current state/city because I'd be here often. Really enjoyed this little spot for lunch! Parked at a parking meter a couple blocks away. The workers were very nice. Lots of soups, salads, and sandwiches to choose from. Very fair prices! Split a salad, sandwich and soup and I loved them all! The curry peanut soup was very good and filling, ~$7.50 for a large. The large was very filling and came with bread. Well, I don't; know how to begin to tell you how great this place is!!! I am visiting New Bedford and looking for a great salad and soup, and this place popped up on yelp. The Wunderkind salad goes BEYOND the name - delicious flavors so well combined that it is hard to believe it's as healthy as it is - but it is! When I wasn't sure what kind of soup to order, the kind gentleman asked a few questions and matched me up with the perfect Kale Soup. He also offered it hot or cold since i had shard I was getting it to take back to my hotel - how thoughtful is that?! I didn't have to Carrie hot soup that was going to go into the fridge until later - the best service. The beverages are also priced a a more reasonable price than most restaurants, and i was so grateful when (again) the gentleman asked if I would need something and made suggestions and I was able to get them all. The grilled chicken was seasoned beyond the buffalo sauce and the bread was a good crispy and chewy. After stopping at D.E.L.S. Nantuckets for a gift card in East Freetown, came down for some lunch at Destination Soups! Friendly staff. Had a cup of the white bean, turkey and kale soup and the marinated chicken sandwich with red pepper, spinach and chipotle mayo. Very, very good! Wife had a grilled cheese and tomato which was great as well. She thinks next time she will have a salad as those looked especially great passing our table. Very friendly people here make it a treat to visit. As others have noted, the grilled cheese is really good, and the options for additions are wonderful. Prices are really good, especially considering how good the food is. My only complaint is that I didn't like the cream of broccoli soup--the broccoli was overcooked, and there was hot spice in the soup, which makes me very unhappy when a dish is not noted as spicy. What a great little place for lunch! I discovered it recently while in New Bedford for a conference. We needed somewhere close by and fast, preferably healthy. Being lunchtime and a Saturday, a line quickly formed. It was handled with ease and there was hardly any wait before our orders were taken and our food delivered. I decided on the half sandwich and cup of soup combo, choosing grilled cheese with tomato and cream of tomato basil soup. The soup was thick and creamy, not overly salted, and piping hot. The sandwich was just right: grilled sourdough with a mix of cheddar and provolone. My fellow conference goers had similar meals and were very pleased as well. Prices were very reasonable.
