Imp G rox it pretty solid. Old school and phun AF 2 hang in. Phood and drink are quite good and prices are quite affordable 2. Admittedly, we just had a PuPu Pladder so I cannot comment on wok skills or soups or nothin' but this Pladder was not only wicked generous, but it was tasty and the Wings were out of this world and big as hell too making them the coupe de gras. The Pladder had the flame pot too. I am often astonished that many peeps don't realize that a flame pot is not merely a Festivus touch. It is meant to HEAT YOUR FOOD so it gets wicked hot. People just stare at it while eating their food. Hello, McFly?! Heat it up on the grill top or hold it over the flame! Duh! Use that thing! We also got an order of House Fried which was wicked scrump. The service was quite competent and the dood checked up on us a few times. Drinks were strong and cheap. It is phun to have a chinwag with peeps here as most all were quite social and regulars at this joint. They have Keeno and scratch tix which adds to the excitement here. The decor simply takes care of business being a bit on the spartan side. However, it is enough to make you aware that you are in situ in a Chinese place. The only reason it is lacking a star is that the drinks ain't got no garnishes. I do feel this is a big bummer in the Festivus department. I really enjoy a pineapple chunk and cherry on a plastic spear or similar such sundries. It means a lot and I do hope Imp G will step it up after reading this review. :) Anyhoot, peep out Imp G if you're in the hood of Hanover. Eat up! It's the Holidays!

    Deluxe mixed vegetables

Supper tonight with two dear friends. They ordered chicken fingers and chicken chop suey. They both really liked they're food. They both enjoy very much American style Chinese food. Me not so much. I got mixed veggies with tofu, and deluxe mixed veggies. As seems to be the norm rather than the exception. The portion of both my dishes was small. And on both dishes vegetables were very minimal. The tofu and veggies was just full of a sweet thick sauce... And the one thing that would have made the dish much better would have been more fresh vegetables. So both of my dishes were a miss. Iam vegan so all I can say is based on what I ordered I feel like it was not a place I would want to return too. So vegans let me know what you think..and share if you will..and if you find a great Chinese restaurant that offers healthy delicious vegan selections please share. The waiter was nice. Even came back a few times to cheque on us. The establishment is very clean and well lit. But no windows.

I must say it's really hard to find good authentic tasting cantonese food These days. If you're ever in the area and want fast great tasting Asian food they are one of the better places to dine in

Ordered…read morealmost $100 worth of food, made up of 5 combination dinner dishes. 3 of these were rice plates, with shrimp lobster sauce, and egg foo yung, all with fried rice. When I got home with these take outs, 30 min ride away, I opened my takeout boxes to have lunch. The two fried rice plates were spoiled, Not "not too fresh" or "a bit stale".. They had that outright spoiled smell, like when you leave food out un-refrigerated for about 3 days. I had to put these in the trash. Then I smelled the shrimp lobster sauce, which were packaged separately from the spoiled rice and didn't smell spoiled.. I had fresh white rice at home, so I added the lobster sauce to make my own lunch plate. Then I put the lobster sauce into my mouth and my head was filled with question marks.. The lobster sauce was SWEET! I've had lobster sauce from 2 or 3 hundred Chinese takeout places. Some are more salty than others, some have a black bean taste; it varies. But this is the first time when I've had lobster sauce where the dominant taste was sweetness. That's not what I wanted. It's like having coffee but instead of sweet someone added salt. Or having spaghetti but with maple syrup. It tasted weird, and unpleasant. I had to throw this out too. So, out of 5 dishes, 3 were spoiled, 1 was weirdly and inappropriately sweet, and the last one, according to my son who ate it, said it "wasn't very good". I write many reviews, and read them too. When I see a one star review citing horrible customer service or whatever, I mostly attribute those to the owners of nearby rival restaurants, trying to kill the business of a competitor. Here I am giving a one star review for the first time. If you feel skeptical, please feel free to read some of my other restaurant reviews. I tend to be very detailed and descriptive, and I call it like it is. I have no interest in artificially boosting or hurting a restaurant's ratings. I am just a guy wo eats out a lot and like to share my personal experience and opinions. So, for this time, my advice is to stay away from this very bad restaurant.

We had takeout, which was packed carefully and packaged as neatly as ever - the hot items in one bag, the cold items in another bag -to make it home in a reasonable time. Where things went wrong: Chicken Teriyaki skewers had zero teriyaki glaze and instead were coated - WELL COATED - in a non-removeable green curry covering. There was absolutely no connection between these skewers and teriyaki. None of us cares for curry, so that was trashed since the cat sat back and said "absolutely not!" Pad Thai with the Chicken and Shrimp option had two (2) medium shrimp, so I guess that counts as multiple shrimp . . . the chicken was dry but at least it was plain, no curry. However, unlike the well coated curried skewers, there was virtually no Pad Thai sauce. The sauce that makes the bland rice noodles come to life was MIA. After much discussion and pulling the stuck together noodles apart, we did think that a very scant spoonful of sauce had been added to the very center of the container, making it a bit more Pad Thai-ish than the bare noodles in the other 2/3 of the takeout container. Pulled out the chicken bits and those two shrimp and trashed the rice noodles because I didn't even have a store-bought packet of Pad Thai sauce on hand to zhush it up! On the cold side, the go-to order of sushi Chirashi was good, fortunately because we were down two dishes out of three! Note to self: live and learn, keep to the Japanese side of the menu, and stop expecting a restaurant to do more than one style of cooking well, it never happens the way you hope it will!

It was really great. I am a white woman raised by white parents. In the 80s my dad went rogue into taekwondo for a black belt and immersed himself fully in the culture. He began making Szechuan food. I've eaten a lot of Chinese and Asian food and i don't usually go for it because there's so much bad and greasy. I prefer Japanese, usually, but when my dad started cooking Szechuan, we tried a wide variety of very authentic restaurants in Boston Chinatown, I know what I'm eating. This one hits the mark. We tried three things for range and shared. A beautiful rare black pepper and sesame seared tuna over salad, with super fresh fish, the level of pepper was on point. It was great. We had the pu pu platter for one which was a ton of food and delicious. The spare ribs were tender, the marinade on the chicken wings was so nice and the crab Rangoon were little fatties and fully stuffed with the perfect blend of crab and cream. We had the crazy chow fun (foon) with beef but without the spiciness so it was regular beef chow fun. Again the meat was tender and the wide noodles had the right amount of sauce. I had a scorpion bowl, it hit. I've seen some ugly reviews on here and honestly think two of the people whose last names start with S worked together on bashing this place, not cool Brian and Jen. Take out food will always be compromised by packing it, steam and travel. Don't judge food like that. This is the place for a fun first date, get a scorpion bowl for two. Get lit and share the Pu Pu platter to start. Check your compatibility on the old school Chinese zodiac placemat, love this. The ambiance is sultry red and dimly lit. People were definitely enjoying themselves. Gave me all the feels and memories of dark lounges, dens of iniquity, red lamps of my twenties. Ahhh...miss that time. I'm a hard sell. Gourmet garden is really good, and you should go. This is something I have should have enjoyed many times over by now.
