Called to let them know and see if maybe they delivered and could send it but didn't really expect them to, but then the Chinese lady started ARGUING that she put the appetizer in the bag and tried to tell me to keep looking for it??? I like to support local businesses so it saddens me to write this. I don't want another family disappointed. When I ordered, the phone app said 20-30 mins. The app isn't connected with a progress report because they use their own drivers. 30 mins became 60 mins so I called a couple of times to check-in and was told the food was "out" and it would be 15 mins. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but then the food arrived 2 hours after ordering and every meal for the family arrived cold. For reference it was a Sunday night. Awesome take out! Like so many families, we always order Chinese food on Christmas Eve. After trying to place an order at our usual spot and getting a busy signal or no answer for a while, I decided to trying calling a few other spots. China Gourmet picked up right away and we were able to order all our usual favorites. They initially told us the food could be ready in as little as 30 minutes but we asked for a 7:15 pick up time instead which was no problem. When we arrived the food was ready to go, but definitely still warm. It was one of the easiest and quickest Christmas Eve take out experiences we've ever had. We ordered chicken fingers, peking ravioli, beef and broccoli, pork fried rice, and sesame chicken. I was very impressed with the quality. The ravioli are bigger than most take out spots and had a ton of meat in them. The sesame chicken was large pieces of meat so that you didn't feel like all you were getting was sauce and breading. I will say the pork fried rice wasn't the best I've ever had. I think it was a little too salty (too much soy sauce used maybe) and a bit dry, but on the biggest take out night of the year, that's understandable. I'd give it another shot. All around, great experience. This is our new go-to holiday take out spot. read more

Absolutely love the food here. Yes, it is very similar to most Chinese food takeout places, but they have stepped it up a notch while not increasing the prices. We only get food from here from time to time but the food and quality are consistent and that's very important when you recall restaurants you don't visit every week. The staff is always friendly and the speed of getting things ready has always been very fast. Usually we order from the house and it's ready when we get there. (10 minute ride). Y'all must be crazy giving this place good reviews. I just got a meal here after work and it is without a doubt the lowest quality and most inauthentic Chinese food I've had in a while. They don't even have good portions, they split a chicken wing in half and call each half a piece so their 10 pc chicken wing is really 5. AVOID!!! ....STAY AWAY!!!...Wish I could give 0 stars!!.. working on a project close by we went for lunch one day last week and we're completely underwhelmed by the whole establishment... The place was so cold you needed a winter hat and gloves to just wait for your food... ordered a lunch combo, She seemed to have a little trouble understanding English so I tried to make it clear what I wanted... by the time we got back to the job opened up the food and it was completely wrong.. So one major strike I was only able to eat half of it anyway... so today since there's nothing else close by we decide to give it another chance... (everybody deserves a second chance) again freezing cold and we had to wait several minutes even after ringing the bell to have anyone come out and take our order... they literally had only been open for about 20 minutes and we put our combo order in... we both wanted to pay with credit cards and she tried to tell us that we should pay with cash and we insisted that we only had credit so she begrudgingly rang us up... when the order came up it was much higher than the menu price and when we questioned it she told us that she had put it through as a "dinner combo"... well it's only not even 11:30 AM so obviously we wanted lunch order but we weren't even given the option during ordering... we explained to her that we only wanted the lunch combo not the dinner combo for lunch... she told us that she couldn't cancel and redo the order because she "already put it in the computer"... this was the last straw for me and I told her to cancel my order and left and will never be back again!! obviously from the other reviews this place tries to scam everyone who comes in there!! read more

We haven't eaten here in years because our last experience wasn't great. Many people seem to like it so we decided to try it again tonight. Well, we got home with our order and low and behold there was a long black hair lining the cover of our take out container. Also, the order for white rice ended up with them giving us fried rice. We obviously brought this back and they did apologize. I would describe their reaction as "just alright". Folks, it's time to bring back hairnets and enforce use of them. There is no way to prevent this without use of them. Unfortunately, we won't be giving China Gourmet another shot at our business. read more
