Depot street market is a hidden gem in Duxbury! The OMG chicken is out of this world it's so good!…read moreThe staff here are wonderful, knowledgeable, and considerate. I don't frequent this place often, but I have been here several times over the years. The staff and…read moreservice have been very friendly and helpful. If you call ahead, they will get everything packed for you, which is great if you are in a hurry. I strongly recommend this as it seems they are often short staffed and the wait can be long. I've tried their short ribs, lobster raviolis, chicken piccata, house made chicken fingers, cheese pizza, mac and cheese, kale and veggie dumplings, quinoa cakes, toasted broccoli and yukon mashed potatoes. Most of the items we have tried are fine, with the short ribs and mashed potatoes being the favorite for the family and friends. The one component that is missing from this dish is a sauce. It is sold "dry" so if you want a nice sauce or gravy to drizzle over the ribs and potatoes, be prepared to make it yourself. The cheese pizza was the biggest disappointment -- just not good. Their mashed potatoes and chicken fingers are also good. Their menu does not change much. This may be good for some as I am sure there are some fan favorites on the menu, but a little variety would be much appreciated. My biggest concern with this place is that it can be very inconsistent. I bought chicken piccata twice -- first was good, the second tasted off (like one of the ingredients was not quite fresh and it made the entire dish bad). Each time, I purchased two or three and not all of the ones I purchased had that strange taste (I think it was the capers -- a batch must have been past its prime.) Now, I've been there and have seen the staff assemble some of the entrees. The last time I saw them preparing chicken piccata, starting with frozen chicken breast. I can't vouch for whether these were prepared a head of time on location or whether they were purchased but it made me wonder "hmmmm..." Everything (unless you hit it at the right time) is frozen and can take a long time to re-heat (many up to an hour plus). While the convenience of not having to prep and cook is appealing on many occasions, I have reservations of the long reheating times, the inconsistencies of the food quality and lack of variety at this place.

This could be one of the most confusing groups of reviews I've read on a restaurant. Either people…read morelove it or hate it. I went with a friend for lunch yesterday (Thursday), and after trying pretty much all of the major restaurants in the Hingham/JNorwell/Cohasset area, this restaurant was clearly at the top of my list. We were served the Wagyu Beef Sliders and the Bacon & Carmelized Onion Arancini for appetizers, and the Pulitzer Short Rib Burger and Norwell Hot Chicken Sandwich for entrees. I say that we were "served" those things because we actually ordered the Bavarian Pretzels and not the Wagyu Beef Sliders, but because the sliders were so delicious, we figured that we'll try the pretzels on the next go around. All four of our dishes were absolutely fantastic. The sliders and arancini were absolutely top-notch. I've had so many average arancini that I forgot what it's like when cooked at a high-level. It's as good as any I've had anywhere. And the Pulitzer Burger is now my favorite burger ever. Just the right amount of char on the outside with the inside a perfect medium. The chicken was moist with fantastic seasoning. The unexpected surprise were the fries. The fries here are outstanding. And they achieve something that I've never seen anywhere else: their fries are "pillowy". They are crispy on the outside, but the inside is remarkably moist and fluffy. I'd have to categorize these as steak fries, but steak fries are usually a bit denser. Service was terrific, and the decor of the place is not "dated", as another reviewer commented. The place was clearly built to give off a classic and intimate vibe. I didn't try any of the fish offerings this time, but I plan on returning and checking them out. It blows my mind that I never heard of this place until a few days ago.

Unfortunately, the service felt rushed and somewhat impersonal. Our waitress was responsive when she was at the table, but she tended to disappear for long periods of time. As for the food, it was honestly just average. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and I'm sad to report it was a disappointment. The hollandaise was cold, the eggs were over-poached, the English muffin only was toasted on one side and the hash browns lacked flavor. Even the coffee I ordered with my meal arrived lukewarm. Surprisingly, the best part of the experience was the Bloody Mary I had at the start of the meal. Maybe the the food would be better during lunch or dinner service. I might give them another try in the future and hope for a better experience.

Little Sister not only has a veggie burger, but it is honestly one of the best ones I have EVER had (and trust me, I've had a lot). Their service is great, and the food comes out nice and quick. There is plenty of seating on a first-come basis, or you can take your burger to go and enjoy the beautiful views, because they wrap it SUPER nicely in a special wrapper that catches all of the sauces and bits that you might lose along the way. I'll be a fan of this place forever! Go check it out!

While seating is limited inside, there's plenty of sitting outside along with views for days of the shoreline! Our kiddo loved watching how the food was made while sitting at the counter. Having a gluten allergy has kept me from eating fried chicken sandwiches, onion rings, and fried fish. Here, all the batter is gluten free, so I got to partake in total gluten free fried food joy! The GF bun for the Larry Bird was so good! I love how light and crispy the batter was, and I didn't feel heavy after eating it. Solid coleslaw and pickles to give that nice texture and lightness to the fried chicken sandwich. I could have eaten these onion rings all day and not realized it. The batter is very simple, but it is GF and sticks so well to the onion rings! Crunchy, light, perfectly seasoned and crave worthy! The real star was the fish and chips. I haven't been able to have good fish and chips for over 2 decades because of my allergy, but l could have it here, and my goodness was it good. Perfectly cooked, light, crunchy, tender fish. Simple tartar sauce, solid fries, and just such a delicious dish. Huge pieces of fish that kept us all full for hours. Cannot rave about it enough! While the fries were solid, I would suggest the waffle fries and onion rings for sure! Add great service and a super friendly staff, and Little Sister is a great place to go to in Rockport! Stop on by and enjoy!
