GF Onions Rings
Caroline J.

Just go. Don't think. Just go. What a hidden jewel in Rockport, and we are so glad to have found it the day before they close for the season (or the holidays)! While seating is limited inside, there's plenty of sitting outside along with views for days of the shoreline! Our kiddo loved watching how the food was made while sitting at the counter. Having a gluten allergy has kept me from eating fried chicken sandwiches, onion rings, and fried fish. Here, all the batter is gluten free, so I got to partake in total gluten free fried food joy! The GF bun for the Larry Bird was so good! I love how light and crispy the batter was, and I didn't feel heavy after eating it. Solid coleslaw and pickles to give that nice texture and lightness to the fried chicken sandwich. I could have eaten these onion rings all day and not realized it. The batter is very simple, but it is GF and sticks so well to the onion rings! Crunchy, light, perfectly seasoned and crave worthy! The real star was the fish and chips. I haven't been able to have good fish and chips for over 2 decades because of my allergy, but l could have it here, and my goodness was it good. Perfectly cooked, light, crunchy, tender fish. Simple tartar sauce, solid fries, and just such a delicious dish. Huge pieces of fish that kept us all full for hours. Cannot rave about it enough! While the fries were solid, I would suggest the waffle fries and onion rings for sure! Add great service and a super friendly staff, and Little Sister is a great place to go to in Rockport! Stop on by and enjoy!

Ok I know there's so many burger joints out there it's tough to distinguish them apart occasionally but this newcomer to the Rockport food scene is probably in my top five for best burger I've ever eaten. With a simple menu of well executed casual eats. From the foot long dog to the perfectly seasoned fries along with friendly service this should be on your summertime "to do" list. Also Like the fact that fries come with the burgers,oh and don't sleep on the crunchy O'rings!

Stopped by Little Sister's per a local resident recommendations and it did not disappoint. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The burgers and fries were simply delicious- even though a bit chilly for a June day, sitting outside on the porch was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend stopping by!

Really none better

Burger is so often just a burger. Like 'Let's grab a burger.' This is not that. This is a destination burger. Amazing char meets onion, magic sauce, all nestled in a vaguely In-And-Out Burger wrap. Word to the wise is use the wrap to control the burger. Otherwise a 10 napkin deal. Exceptional.

Perfect golden crispy fries on the left, delicious Local Fried Fish Sandwich on the right

Last night I had the Duke veggie burger, which was great, and tonight I went with the Local Fried Fish Sandwich, which was even better. Perfectly cooked fish, expertly battered, with very tasty cole slaw and pickled peppers. So good. Very friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the second you step into the place - which is no mean feat in a fairly tiny establishment. It's laid out perfectly and abuts a lane overlooking the bay so it's a great place to dawdle while you wait for your takeout order. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. If I lived here I would eat here all the time!

Big Brother burger. DIdn't last long! Napkins required. Best burger I've had in years.

Phenomenal new burger joint! Excellent menu of mostly burgers, but also a solid fish sandwich, and a hot dog for old time's sake (they are located where Top Dog used to be). This is the latest venture by Josh and Ariel Smith, the owners/chef at Talise. It's a fun counterpoint, but has the same informal vibe with top notch food. The best burger I've had in years. I had the Big Brother, which is two perfectly seasoned patties and a special sauce of jalapeños and bacon. Son had the fish sandwich, wife had a simpler burger, and ... okay, I also had the Little Sister hot dog because I have no willpower. DELICIOUS! Killer fries also. Such a good addition to Bear Skin Neck.

This place was 10/10 the best find ever! Food was amazing, so charming, & great location! Crew was very nice as well! As a gluten free person, this place is the best! Dedicated gf fryer & gf fish & chips! I can't recommend this place enough!

Hot dog and side of fries.

Lazy Lobster Casserole: 4oz of lobster meat, baked with butter and breadcrumbs, quite satisfying. The lobster meat was firm and delicious, the butter was fragrant, but the breadcrumbs were too burnt, and the seasoning was a bit too salty. Fried Calamari: Just average fried calamari, too much batter. We should have ordered fried scallops, but my dad wanted calamari... Baked Potato: Another average baked potato. We discovered they served it with butter afterward Coleslaw: Not very good. The sweetness was generally right, but it lacked a clear, bright flavor. Side Salad: Sweet and sour, very refreshing!

Not even fifteen minutes later, the space filled up with people asking for window tables. Street parking right outside was easy since it was a weekday pre-lunch rush, but I wouldn't bet on it during busier times. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder to share, the fried haddock basket with a side of slaw, and the fish tacos with a side of fries. The one unfortunate thing was that our fries had a strand of hair embedded inside, but they were able to replace it for us. Otherwise a pretty decent meal to start off our day strolling around the neighborhood.

There are restaurants that serve exceptional food, and then there are places that remind you why…read moredining is an art form. My Place by the Sea is unquestionably the latter. Tucked into a quaint, shanty-like house perched at the water's edge in Rockport, this extraordinary little restaurant offers something increasingly rare: hospitality so genuine, humble, and gracious that you feel less like a customer and more like a cherished guest in someone's home. And then there is the food. My goodness, the food. The homemade focaccia was beautifully fresh, the kind of simple perfection that speaks volumes about a kitchen's devotion to its craft. The seafood stew was nothing short of sublime, with a broth so profoundly flavorful that I would have happily enjoyed an entire bowl of it alone. The locally sourced mussels, bathed in white wine and garlic, were delicate, tender, and wonderfully evocative of the Atlantic just beyond our table. A seasonal fruit and pecan salad offered a beautiful balance of freshness, sweetness, and texture. And the wonderfully unapologetic, horseradish-kissed Bloody Mary? Effin' magnificent. What impressed me most was the absolute integrity of the experience. Seafood this fresh needs no theatrics, no unnecessary embellishments, and certainly no pretension. Just exceptional ingredients, a gifted chef who respects them, and the kind of thoughtful, personal hospitality that cannot be manufactured. There is something profoundly moving about enjoying seafood prepared with such care while sitting mere feet from the very waters that provided it. I've experienced beautiful restaurants, but rarely have I encountered one where the setting, the cuisine, and the people felt so perfectly in harmony. **My Place by the Sea doesn't merely feed you. It makes you feel something.** And to me, that is the highest compliment a restaurant can earn. An unforgettable little treasure on the edge of the Atlantic. I would return to Rockport for this experience alone.

We dined this past weekend, and the crush of tourists were gone, and had no problem choosing a table of our choice on the patio. Service here is super friendly and efficient. While there are no "lunch" specials, there are a variety of lighter offerings and sandwiches to try. I had a chicken and brie sandwich, served on a baguette. This was quite good, but nothing exceptional. Cocktails can be a work of art and are very good. I think no matter what you try, it all tastes better when served in such a beautiful atmosphere. This was our second visit, and may be our favorite in Rockport.

The hostess could've been a lot friendlier, didnt say hardly 2 words but seated us promptly. We got a windows seat which had a spectacular view. Our waiter (we unfortunately forgot his name) we enjoyed and was very nice and was patient as we were a bit indecisive. We got a SoCal cocktail, delicious! And also a canned downeast apple cider also very good. My husband had the shrimp plate which was good, but for the price, high for not a large serving of shrimp but they were tasty. I had the buffalo blue marscapone sandwich which was delicious. The fried could use seasoning but were fresh and crispy. Everything came out hot and fresh. We did end up ordering the coconut shrimp appetizer as well as my husband was still a bit hungry which you only got 6 but they were delicious and the sauce was amazing. Pricey for what you get but we enjoyed our meal and our waiter, the views were great and it was convenient while walking around town. We would've loved outdoor seating but didnt see that it was offered while we were there if they have it.
