Grilled Chicken, Rice, Veggies so good!

The service, ambiance, food is so good. They know how to spruce up Bar Food into a 5 star meal. Coldest beer on tap, nice people and a must try in Gloucester.

Wow! A hidden gem...but it won't stay that way for long! When you walk into a place and are immediately made to feel at home, where there are both locals and vacationers in the place and everyone is smiling and chatting, you know you've found something special. Don, the bartender, was terrific; the owners were there and were awesome, as well. Oh! The food! My husband ordered the Reuben; I got the weekly special flatbread, and they were both amazing. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't order more; everything looked and smelled delicious! Highly recommend, you definitely won't regret your visit here!

I am shocked by how impressive The Burn is. Truly, it is outstanding on every level. The staff treated my family like we were VIP family members even though it was our first visit AND the restaurant was full. You know how sometimes staff gets overwhelmed and cranky when it's busy? Not these guys. The place smells great. Good clean cooking smell and beautiful, current style. And the food. Get outa here with that! They have my new favorite Reuben. I thought the best Reuben was on soft fresh baked brown bread but these guys have proven me wrong. It is best served pressed. And the pickle they serve with it is perfect. That's coming from a serious pickle snob here! My Guinness was delicious thanks to what must be impeccably clean taps. My kids were obsessed with their chicken fingers and fries. My husband loved his haddock sandwich. Oh my gosh and the dessert! All homemade! Do not skip the strawberry ice cream treat. It's as if a Fribble and a Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake bar made a baby. If we lived closer, we would be regulars and I would want to keep it a hidden gem. For a moment I considered relocating just to make that happen. And for the record, I have not been this impressed by a restaurant EVER. Even my six year old was floored. For the first time ever she said we should leave them extra money because it was so good. And as we were leaving she stopped us to make sure we did. I cannot wait to go back.

On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar cheese, was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak tips were cooked to our liking, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes were comforting and satisfying. Olde Main Street Pub delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, genuine service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Salem.

We sat at the bar both times and it just wasn't up to par compared to the Choate before new ownership took over. The service was great but... The baked haddock did not have the same delicious crumbs and the portion was too huge to finish and we know seafood doesn't really make for good leftovers. The fried haddock was done a little too much; the coating was too dark and again so much of it! The salads have grown to twice their size but served in the same tiny dish; much of our salad ended up in our laps and on the floor... The broccoli and squash were just okay but again the portions are HUGE! A bit disappointing really...we both would have preferred less, more delicious food of yore rather than the enormous portions of sub-par flavors. A lot of food doesn't necessarily mean delicious... Both visits left us feeling a little sad and nostalgic for the way the Choate used to be.

You can tell the regulars get priority attention from the bartenders, but we eventually got taken care of too - just be prepared to be patient if it's busy and you're a new face. The food was good with very generous portions that definitely give you your money's worth. Drinks were well-made and hit the spot. We loved the setup for watching football - great views of the games from multiple angles around the bar. **Important heads-up: This is a CASH ONLY establishment.** Make sure you stop at an ATM before you arrive, or you'll be making a quick exit to find one. The vibe here is very much old-school local pub - if that's your scene, you'll love it. If you're looking for something more polished or trendy, this might not be your spot. We enjoyed the unpretentious atmosphere and will likely be back, but it's definitely worth knowing what you're walking into first. Bottom line: Come for honest pub fare, generous portions, cold drinks, and a genuine local experience. Just bring cash!

We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites.
