Solid Irish pub with good food. In town visiting, went for drinks the night before, had some mixed drinks and a few beers. Drinks were good, priced about normal, maybe $1 higher than other places locally. Went the next day for lunch, had a very good blackened chicken sandwhich. Would go back. Stopped by tonight after a play at the North Shore Music Theater; it was around 5pm and we were lucky to snag a couple seats at the bar. Service was outstanding. Best burger in Beverly. Potato skins are phenomenal too! Service can be a bit slow on occasion but is normally nothing too bothersome. Typical football bar feel, can be a bit overwhelming some nights and might not be for everyone. Would 100% recommend trying it at least once. read more

Picture this: Friday night, we planned to eat locally in Malden and when we pull into the parking lot of one of our favorite spots I look in the rear view mirror and the baby just fell asleep. Do we wake her up and have dinner or drive around for a little and try something new? The later of course! And since we have been thinking of moving to Beverly, hubby and I decided to pick a spot and go for it. So I drover very slow and called my sister to join us and we walked into Fibber McGee's. Any place that greets a party of 3 with a one year old with a smile is a plus in my book already and thankfully that happened to us! They were PACKED on a Friday (of course) but the server who greeted us was so nice and accommodating and we even got to sit in the back corner with lots of room. went in to pick up an order we called in. the bartender asked if we had been helped in a very rude tone. We explained we hadn't been. She seemed very annoyed with us and gave a very rude tone when we asked if they were positive that the order we were given was ours. We were very respectful and nice and gave no reason for the way she went about "helping" us. if you don't fucking like ur job don't fucking work there. not my fault ur miserable. read more

Check your bill BEFORE charging your card. Because we sat at the bar, there was a tab started and a card held. I had 3 beers and my friend had 2. We also had 10 wings and loaded fries. The bill came and it was $60-something dollars. We ordered one last beer and it popped up to ~104. I checked and they had added 4 beers, not 2. I politely let the secondary server know. She said let me check, then returned with an accusatory attitude and said that's what we drank, then darted off. This happened several times between her and the primary server. I'd say, "I know exactly what we drank" then she or the other bartender would say we don't know what we are talking about and leave. One said, "we ring them as you order them, so that's impossible." She darted off, so I couldn't even tell her that HER story is impossible and there's no way her process is real. I suddenly at the end got charged for 2 Maine Lunch and I hadn't had one of those since we arrived. Finally the bartender comes and says, "fine, I'll just pay for your drinks out of my own pocket!" And again darts off. Leaving me to say to my friend and the other befuddled customers nearby.... I'm really not looking for a bartender to pay my way, I'm just looking for some professionalism and competence. She came back and loudly announced that she took off two beers. But really, she took off one of the Mich Ultras for $5.50. The extra Maine Lunch rings in at $9.50 and we were still being charged for it. There was nothing more I could do. They had left and we were just sitting there in disbelief, so we gave a $0 tip and left. I mean, technically she got $9.50 for the beer I didn't order, but I imagine that's not quite the same. I believe there is a "throw some more beers on there" scam going on at Fibbers. There's no other way to explain the offensive behavior of the bartenders. And because it appears on a new bill after the card is already run, it may get overlooked by others. Btw, I asked to speak to a manager but she said, "we don't have managers here." read more

I was going through my Yelp page when I came across Fibber's and to my surprise, I never wrote a review for it even though we frequent it. I will say that we haven't gone to sit down there because it is always busy as busy can be. We order takeout exclusively. The restaurant has been there for ages and is a great local restaurant. Parking is a bit of an issue being right on Cabot Street. Most of the restaurant is a bar with booths on either side of the bar. It's a little dark and noisy so you need to take that into consideration. The takeout orders are in the back of the bar and we have been quick in picking up the food and paying. They seem well organized. In the past, I have ordered the Rattlesnake, Bacon Royale, burgers the C-3 sandwich or the turkey avo-ranch and have never been disappointed. The chicken parm sub was average at best. My son usually gets the Jacked up Mac' n Cheese and enjoys it every time. My wife usually goes for the steak tip salad. It is large enough to make multiple meals. She loves the sauce on the tips and finds the salad to be fresh and tasty as well. My older daughter usually orders the C-3, turkey avo-wrap or the buffalo chicken Caesar wrap and is happily content. We haven't had any problems with them and do order from them often. I guess if we actually went to sit down and relax we could be considered regulars. read more

As a person who doesn't like crowds, I was surprised how comfortable I was in the very busy atmosphere. Horrible customer service! I went there last night and the bartender was extremely rude when we questioned the bill. We had ordered 2 wines, 1 vodka soda, and 2 soda waters. When we looked at the bill it appeared to show 2 vodkas and 2 wines. When I asked the bartender to make sure we were being charged correctly she began to yell at us and accused us of trying to get out of paying our bill (If I was trying to skip out on the bill I would have just walked out, not tried to question the bill first to make sure it was correct). I explained it is showing an extra vodka soda and no regular soda waters. Instead of going over the bill, she became extremely aggressive and continued yelling and kicked us out. I was with my sister having a mom's night out, not some college kids that are just having a cheap night. We are both mid thirties who have both worked in the service industry, so would never not pay a bill/tip. We paid the bill regardless of if it was correct or not and still tipped her even with her being so rude. There's too many restaurants/bars in Beverly that appreciate their guests to ever make me want to return here! read more

Went here the other week and tried to order a drink. Was asked for an ID and I handed over my official Military ID (I'm 25 in the army , and not from MA) . Was told they couldn't use it because they need to be able scan it and was denied service. I'm all for the security and checking IDs to make sure everyone being served is 21, but not being able to accept an official military ID is absurd. read more

Food was good. Server was good. Some manager dude was rude. No host at door and no sign to say please be seated etc. We thought we entered bar area so went looking for the dining room. Ummm so ordered a steak tip salad... for $9 got five little pieces of steak had to pay .50 extra for one extra dressing cup and got a side of rice for $3.50.... the container was 1/2 full it was not even 3/4 cup rice.... this place has gone down hill and it's super sad because I used to love this place... I understand it's Covid but for $9 I totally expect to get a little more steak... $26 for a salad and a side of rice...??? read more

Wow!! Ok story time.... This is one of our favorite local pubs/bars. Pre-COVID we would cozy up to the bar and slam some wings and potato skins, watch football, drink cold beer and admire the bustling place. Tonight we were craving Buffalo wings (fibbers has the best ones around)... we order wings and a few salads. Went to pick them up, was VERY amazed with the covid set up, they are crushing it! We drove home and when we got home our salads weren't in the bag. No biggy, everyone is doing the best they can right now. I reached in my pocket to grab my phone to call them, but they were already calling me. They genuinely apologized and asked if we are close? Did we want to pick them up? If not they would refund up. I said I was super tired and it's totally fine, just refund us for the salads. The person I was on the phone with placed me on a brief hold and came back asking for our address, SHE GOT IN HER CAR AND DROVE OUR SALADS TO OUR HOUSE! Blown away by the hospitality and thoughtfulness of this gesture. These are the people we need to keep supporting. The woman that delivered our salads was so kind and nice. Thank you Fibbers for making our evening and crushing it as always! Absolutely amazing. Oh and the wings and salads were bomb, as always! read more

Went there with my family after a nice outing in Salem....What a disappointment. The food was fair, nothing great, and the service was horrible. The waiter had a tremendous attitude, and barley acknowledged us. Waited over an hour for our meal to arrive and asked where our appetizer was..."oh, there was a problem, it should be out right out".
