    Twin lobster Tuesday!
    Gabrielle C.

I absolutely adore, going to the anchor! My aunt and I went for the last twin lobster Tuesday, and it was a full house. The service is incredible. They had all hands on deck, and the lobsters were absolutely delicious. It is busy almost anytime of day whether it's 8 AM or 8 PM, but it is always worth the wait :)

Anchor Pub & Grille has become a destination for me in Boston. They usually have a twin lobster dinner special and on my last visit, it was Twining Tuesday. They offer a twin lobster dinner with one side for only $18.95 all day on Tuesdays!! What a deal! I had fries for my side, but their brussel sprouts were pretty good as well. So you can imagine it gets very crowded and packed on Tuesday nights with the locals. Not only is the price fantastic for lobster fans, Anchor Pub catches the lobsters in their own traps every day so it is fresh and perfectly prepared. Service is reasonably good considering on Tuesday nights, they do get slammed. They do not take reservations so wait could be as much as 1 hour depending upon your arrival time. They have both inside tables and bar seating and outside patio seating in good weather. They do also offer a great variety on their menu, but where most places charge $40 or more for twin lobsters, Anchor Pub & Grille is known as the place for their twin lobsters with the best price in town!

My favorite bar in the area and what a surprisingly delicious breakfast! My eggs benedict was perfect and the lobster was amazing, as well as my bloody mary. Always reasonably priced here with great service. Friday nights cash bar is always a blast and the bartenders are lovely! My friends and I love the dart boards and pool tables, and the tiki bar in the summers. Cozy and townie vibe and always a great night here.

Food: we came for the seafood special. But unfortunately we were 30 minutes early. They were still serving breakfast. So we opted to get breakfast because we didn't want to wait. A bit disappointed but it's ok. It's our fault for not checking first. So, I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict (I really loved how they made the corned beef hash), brother and sister got Corned Beef Hash and eggs, and friend got the Ultimate Anchor Breakfast (the French toast was good). Service: our server was ok. The staff weren't super friendly. Ambiance: the name of the restaurant matches with the ambiance and vibe. It's a "Pub and Grill." I'm not mad at the decor gave me a bit of an Island feel." Just a bit.

The bar was huge and packed with 3 bartenders and they were very good. The place is pretty cool with a tiki bar as well it's a casual place with friendly people. The food was excellent had a cheeseburger club done just the way I liked it everything was excellent .

The Anchor is a VERY popular hangout. The Tiki Bar has generous pours and prices on all the food and beverage items are very reasonable. They also allow well behaved dogs on the patio. The only ding on the ambiance is traffic noise. The shrimp Scampi pizza is excellent, and the specials vary, but again, you really cannot beat the prices for a seafood restaurant. Portions are big. Huge. Food service was great except a couple of items came out cold. Odd. Stuffed clams. Same order, one clam hot; one clam cold. 2 cups of clam chowder; one hot, one cold. I'm guessing maybe the regular chef had the night off. This place is always packed. With good reason. Very reasonable prices. Gargantuan portions. Servers are friendly and efficient. Oh, and did I mention they also have Keno and Lottery? Now you know.

Food is good, restaurant is very crowded on weekends with over an hour long wait. We had the seafood pie and fried clams.

On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar cheese, was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak tips were cooked to our liking, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes were comforting and satisfying. Olde Main Street Pub delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, genuine service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Salem.
