My husband and I went for lunch just to try someplace new. The bartender was wonderful, she could not have been nicer and she had a large area. She was great. I had a caesar salad with chicken, the salad itself was fine, but the chicken came on the side and was overcooked to the point of being pulverized, unsliced and I had a really hard time cutting it, almost comical. My husband had chili, that was OK, and a taco that was less than OK., he said the meat was not fresh, potentially store-bought like canned meat. Sadly, our recent trip to Fox Creek was very disappointing. Food seems to have gone downhill and quality declined. The waitress was attentive and friendly. However, the food was not good. First of all, the nachos did not have enough cheese, which is surprising because cheese is not expensive so why would you skimp on that? But even worse --had a short, black hair in them! So gross. I ordered the shrimp and lobster sliders and there was not even one bite of lobster in them. They were shrimp and imitation crab meat. Nowhere on the menu did the description state that they would have crab meat, nonetheless imitation crab meat! I can't imagine trying to trick someone into thinking imitation crab meat is lobster. So dissatisfying. My son ordered a regular burger and it was good. However, my younger daughter ordered a burger off of the kids menu and it was different from the regular burger - it was not made with the same meat. It was a gray color, and tasted off --very disgusting-- she could not eat it. Usually , a kids burger is made from the same meat-Just smaller in size. My husband ordered the chicken tacos and he said they were fine. The blueberry martini was good. Really enjoyed my visit here over the weekend. Service was friendly and prompt. My friend and I started with the bang bang shrimp which was very delicious (and shareable). For my main course I got a chicken Caesar wrap with sweet potato fries which was absolute perfection. I got the coconut beach margarita and the watermelon sangria for drinks which were delicious and both something I'd order again. Really liked the table my large party and I were sat at- in the corner with plenty of booth space. The service was delightful and our food came quickly. We all enjoyed our meals- highlights for me being the pretzels with beer cheese and the dumplings which I could've had a dozen or more of. We came here in November for brunch service, and the restaurant was moderately busy. Ordered the tater tots as an appetizer, as well as the stuffed french toast and lobster eggs benedict. The tater tot heaven was the best thing we had--definitely worth getting. The stuffed french toast was also tasty. However, the service at this restaurant was a bit lacking. We spent quite a while waiting for food and for the check. The eggs benedict came to the table lukewarm, which was somewhat unappealing given the room temp hollandaise sauce. Decided to go somewhere new and so glad we did! This restaurant was amazing. The starters all looked so delicious we had a hard time choosing. Ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and they were fantastic. Our bartender Amanda was so fun, attentive and made wonderful cocktails. I had three; Swimming with the fish, a drink that came in a a mini bathtub with a rubber duck l could take home and a bubbly blue champagne drink with a sugar rim. My husband had a beer and two rum punches that he said were better than the ones we had in Barbados. Met a wonderful regular who was so inviting and welcomed us to join the next Music Bingo on Tuesdays. The Fox Creek Tavern is going to be one of our go to places and I can't say enough that you should try it too! read more

I don't even know what to say regarding this review. I guess I will start off with saying that the experience we had last night was so ridiculous I can't even believe it happened. We normally dine for lunch and Jimmy is fantastic! We are also regulars at the Bradford Tavern which is the sister restaurant and have nothing but great things to say about it. We made a reservation for 5:15, three adults and my toddler, and upon arrival the restaurant and bar were almost empty with only a few tables in the whole place. Everything started out fine with prompt service and we got our order in, within a half an hour or so the restaurant and bar started to fill up and you could tell the waitress was getting a little overwhelmed with the amount of people being seated. My mother ordered the seafood slider trio which has three sliders one with shrimp, lobster, and haddock. She has ordered this multiple times in the past and it's been fantastic, especially the lobster slider. Let's just say whatever kind of sliders were served up last night, were not up to the normal standard of what we were used to. The lobster slider was not lobster. The "lobster" looked like pink mushy cat food and had a FOUL smell that instantly made my stomach turn. My father ordered the fish and chips which were bland, for me the tacos which were drenched in some strange cheese salsa and the chicken tasted like chewy rubber. Fries were the only good thing about this meal. Since there was such a lag for the waitress to check in on us my son was getting fussy as we have now been here for over an hour and were ready to go. Even more frustrating as we were one of the first tables seated before the dinner rush. Things took a major turn for the worst when our waitress kept taking new tables in the bar area when we were waiting for our check and boxes, there was a table in the back that seemed annoyed too that they had been sitting there for so long with no service. Working in the industry I totally get being in the weeds but prioritizing the tables that have been there first before taking any new tables is kind of restaurant 101. After witnessing the waitress checking ID's on a table that had just been seated in the bar area and then proceeding to take their order when we had asked for boxes and our check over 5-6 minutes ago, she came back frantic apologizing saying she was taking a valentines reservation... a little odd since we had witnessed her taking all these new tables in the bar area. I let her know quickly about my mothers slider, showed it to her, she apologized and said she will check with a manager. At this point we are sitting in our coats with a fussy toddler ready to go. After another 5-6 minutes of waiting for her to come back she then proceeds to say that the kitchen can make her another slider different then the lobster one. What?? You see we are ready to go. I said no, and to just take it off the check. She takes my cards runs away clearly irritated and frantic and comes back charging my card leaving the tip and signed copies and NO ITEMIZED RECIEPT so I couldn't see what was taken off. At this point we are all fuming and really confused on what is going on. I go up to the bar area to speak to a manager. The manager explains to me that they have taken 25% off the ONE slider, I ask for an itemized copy she prints it out and it says 20% was taken off. "Oh sorry it looks like she took 20% not 25%". So I question that and ask if it was 20, or 25% off? She proceeds to say oh it was supposed to be 25% and then takes my card and says it will be credited back the difference.... the difference was $1.12. WHAT? I asked if she was the manager and tried to explain what was going on with the delay in service and how utterly foul this lobster slider looked and smelled. She then started asking me more about what was wrong and if the food wasn't good why we didn't say that to the waitress, I then say the waitress didn't come back and she proceeds to tell me oh so you're saying the service wasn't good. Wait what?? I was at a loss for words. Unhappy regular guest and questioning me. She then proceeds to give me a copy of the receipt that wasn't the right total with the credited "$1.12". I don't even know what the total is and she hands me back to receipts with the wrong amount charged to my card. I crossed an X in the receipts signed and left. Working in the industry I have never done that in my life. You would think a good manager would say simply - I am sorry about the experience, let me take care of this for you and COMP the effing sliders. It was literally embarrassing how this went down. My question is where did the 20/25% off one slider come from? If there are 3 sliders wouldn't there be at least 33.3% off? I am just at a loss with this. We will never be back, on top of it all my card was swiped so many times and not even sure for what totals since again no receipt was given, my bank locked my card. Such a shame. DAMN! read more

Sunday Brunch First, I didn't expect the Mexican food theme for a lot of their choices. I went with the Tavern Breakfast. My bacon was barely cooked. The eggs I ordered over hard came back over easy and runny. The home fries are deep fried and so spicy they were inedible. (Note: they fry seafood in the same fryer so beware if you have a seadood allergy.) No one at our table could eat them even though two people eat spicy, Mexican food quite often. The English muffin looked fresh out of the package, untoasted. Initially, the waitress was rude, said they didn't have English muffins although the menu clearly stated it comes with English muffin. BTW no substitutions so if you don't want English muffin your out of luck. She tapped her fingernails on the table obviously wishing we would order faster. Came for dinner with another couple, their first time, seated outside on the patio by the music, 3 piece Irish band, they where wonderful. server was prompt with water and drink orders, we were in no hurry, just enjoying the music and company. Server was lookin for food order but we were not ready, we finally put in an app order for the Charcuterie which was very nice, one of my fav's here. Server was looking for dinner order, we weren't ready, he seemed put off by that but we ordered more drinks. We ordered our food which came out promptly but server neglected to take away app dishes or the multiple used glasses on the table coming quite cramped, server walked by and we asked to remove dishes and ordered a drink, took no dishes, the haddock sandwich, turkey blt and salmon where all good, not a fan of the fries. The haddock was a little dry and small served with luke warm green beans. We had a very enjoyable time but the service was lacking, the bill was dropped off with a table full of dishes and we would like to have stayed to enjoy the music and have another drink, c'est la vie read more

1st VISIT! Great experience, our server/bartender Kelly was awesome, super friendly and on top of her service game! Also spoke w/ Mngr. Catherine, also super friendly & helpful getting setup w/ rewards for future visits. As far as the food, started out with Pretzels & dip, Tavern Burger w/slaw, as well as a Meatlover's Slider Trio. Food was a 9.9 out of 10, only criticism was the Napa Slaw had too much vinegar, which I understand may be a personal preference! Overall, I will become a regular, especially finding out that the Ownership Group has acquired the #BradfordTavern in Rowley, my old Tavern hangout. The restaurant is realtively new, and the interior is clean. Service was not as attentive as I would like. Drinks were good, but small. Food was a little less than that. They served me a charcuterie board on a slate shingle, which was the most interesting part. The meats were thick-sliced, and not recently. Fresh mozzarella tasted like it came from the supermarket and had been opened yesterday. Each slice was missing a portion, which I assume had been cut off because it was dried out. Burger was nothing great. The flatbread crust did not taste fresh. Frozen? Shelf-stable? I don't know, but I doubt anyone in this place got covered in flour preparing it. read more

Went to Fox Creek Tavern with my son. We were really hungry so ordered the cheese and meat appetizer board. Then decided to upgrade and get 2 of the "Local Burgers". The Board to go: We were really upset to find the mozzarella with giant visible actual green mold spots, and profile fuzzy white mold all over, not exaggerations, the meat rolls browning in spots. The Burgers: The burger bun was slithered in oil? Butter? with a fancy logo brand. The cooked "medium" burger was well done. The well done burger was cooked correct but the burger in all was unimpressive for almost $20. I don't personally like when my burgers have texture white pieces in it. That is just me. I went in and brought back the moldy rotten platter and told them about the burger temp. Son was too hungry to wait for another and just ate it. They refunded the moldy plate. We went to Fox Creek for the first time the other night. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very very attentive right off the bat. I got the margarita flight which was delightful, only thing that was off putting was the dried coconut topping on the coconut margarita.... But that was a personal preference more than a taste issue. My husband got a cranberry mule and thought it was very good. Agreed upon starting with the Irish nachos and we were so surprised when they came out! Such a huge portion, but they were delish and the sauce on top was tasty too. We ended up ordering the jalapeño Rangoon and they tasted okay but they could have had a bit more spice. The atmosphere is wonderful. Not jam packed with tables, but a good amount of seats. Salad bar was great. It didn't have 100 toppings but it had quality toppings. How often do you see roasted asparagus as a salad topping?? Worth it and worth a $12.95 price for it on its own (you can get a protein for an extra charge and still worth it!!). Salad bar comes with every entree. Hubby got bbq tips, mashed tato and butternut squash. He did get some dinner rolls as they were all he wanted from the salad bar (not a veggie guy). He loved the tips. They had a nice tangy kick, cooked perfectly to his medium rare taste. I ordered the seafood Alfredo. Those who know me, know I'm keto and don't eat pasta. Their snickerdoodle martini (my desert) while delicious may not have been overly worth $12.00 but a nice indulgence is needed now n then Hubby had the lava cake.
