We came here on 10/28 for our first wedding anniversary dinner. Starting with the bread.. the butter that they give you is amazing and creamy. My lobster bisque had me wanting more. My husband got the pasta and ate almost the whole bowl. The steak bites had a mesquite flavor to them but they were good to. I felt like our server was stretched a little thin but overall good place.

My visit, with a party of 3, tonight was AMAZING! Our seat was so cute. We were on the edge of the patio with perfect view of everything. We sat and listened to piano bar style music. Lots of American standards with Tony Gallo singing a few songs. Our waitress, Polly, was great. She gave us our choice of water, ( which I loved the choice)explained the cheese and charcuterie plate and oysters. The food was incredible. We started with the bacon clam chowder. It had the perfect smoky taste with clams in every thick spoonful. The chicken was great. It had a very crispy skin with a honey lemon sauce. It was served with potatoes, and arugula. The whole think had a perfect lemon taste The crab cake cake sandwich was very good. Seasoned perfect. There were good size chucks of crab. The coating and fry was perfect. It was served on a brioche roll. It was huge. I ended up only using 1/2 of the roll. The sweet potato fries were very good. They were almost double with fries. Crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. I forgot to ask for tarter sauce. But it had a aioli with a slight kick The Lobster Flatbread was amazing. The fig jam was my favorite Desert was my favorite. We split the Molton Lava cake and creme Brule. The custard was perfect temperate the crunchy sugar crunch was the texture my tongue needed to finish my meal. The cake left me speechless. I can't wait to go back and try the rib eye

I was there this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day out and so we wanted to sit outside. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon. It was not crowded, at least not outside and it was near the end of brunch. The hostess was lovely and the waitress was really nice too. We ordered a cheese plate to come out 1st and then 2 meals, 1 was a salad one with eggs. The cheese plate came out and we had no plates or silverware or napkins so we started eating with our hands I finally was able to flag the waitress over and ask for silverware which she promptly gave us. I had to ask another waitress to find out when our meals were coming out. We ended up waiting over an hour for our meals which I think was absolutely absurd given that it was not busy and towards the end of brunch. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee, which was served luke warm. The food was mediocre at best. The eggs (huevos ranchero) were warm, not hot and just OK, nothing special at all. Beans tasted like they were right out of a can. My mom had the salad and she said it was ok. So not coming back any time soon. This was my 1st time.

The Piano Bar at The Beacon. Always a good time.

There's no other place on the north shore of Boston that offers nightly entertainment with a menu that rivals anything in the city of Boston. The cocktails are creative and delicious with just the right amount of booze and the staff bends over backwards to provide excellent service. Enjoy!

Our server was good. They were out of four entrees. Avoid the desserts. The live band was fun.

I took a seat at a high top table next to the bar. The server came over in a couple minutes after I settled in. I requested an ice water and immediately placed my food order. For a starter, Fried Calamari ($16 plus tax) served in a bowl had flash fried calamari rings & tentacles with a light coating, very tender to eat with lemon wedge for zest and a pomodoro sauce for dipping. For dinner, the Southern Fried ($17 plus tax) was stacked with lettuce, tomato, red onions, thick crunchy fried buttermilk chicken, pimento & pickle chips on a toasted bun. The side of thinner cut golden fries was salted and firm, ketchup cup on the side. I very much enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich with the crisp fries. After I was done, the server dropped off the check, which was $35.31 with tax and before tip. Overall, a great tasting fried meal in a noisy pub, NBA finals on TV, and adequate service.

On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar cheese, was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak tips were cooked to our liking, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes were comforting and satisfying. Olde Main Street Pub delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, genuine service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Salem.

The pork was well-seasoned and the bacon was thick, crisp, and tasty. The bun was also good. I feel like buns are often an afterthought with sandwiches, but not here. It was a high quality Kaiser roll, and it held up to the toppings (pork, bacon, slaw) well. The house-brand root beer was also good. When we arrived the place was nearly empty, which come to find out places aren't as busy on a Monday. There was one other table finishing up in the main dinning area, and one other group arrived at the same time we did. We were greeted and sat quickly, but that's where the speed of things kinda came to a slow down. I'll start with some of the positives - our waitress was really nice and she had a helper who also was nothing but polite and friendly. The decor is really cool! There was no one in the entire back room of the restaurant, so I went and took a peak back there on the way to the bathroom and it had old cameras, typewriters, cool pieces of art, the main room also have some great scales of justice, and other fun features. They also had all the Halloween decor, if anyone needed to use the restroom we were told to go towards the large mirror, and I would always add on to my friends "with the creepy doll on it". After about 2 to 3 minutes my entire party had and water was brought to the table and served in plastic cups. Which at a place with white table clothes felt a little strange. At some point after our waitress returned to take drink orders and an appetizer of the calamari. She then asked "have I offered you all any bread yet" we said no, but we would love bread. She said "okay it will be $3" and walked away. We all kinda looked at each other confused, because the phrasing seemed like it was complementary bread but we were really hungry at this point and the bread ended up being really good - but it was a small portion for $3. I think 6 thinner slices in total. We waited a while before she returned for our food order. The menu has what you expect from an Italian places but also has a large section of Mexican dishes, which feels mismatched, it wasn't fusion style it was just Italian and Mexican separately, it just feels really disjointed. I went with the bolognese and one of my friends decided to order the tacos because it felt so silly to do in an Italian spot (and who doesn't like tacos generally). The calamari came out at some point after the bread, but we finished the bread, the calamari, and all our waters at a causal pace after that. We were sitting for a while before anyone came back to the room where we were seated. At this point there were maybe 3 or 4 tables sat in our room and possible one other couple up towards the front area. As many of us were out of water, I headed up towards the bar area or host stand to see if I could find someone. I ran into the guy who was assisting with our table and asked if we could get some more water - which happened promptly. About 5 to 10 minutes after that our waitress returned with even more water and told us food would be out soon. The food arrived maybe 10 minutes after that, so it had been a while since we ordered. The bolognese was fine, the pasta wasn't overcooked, the sauce lacked some depth and the meat was a little firmer than anticipated but overall it was still okay. They did offer some Parmesan cheese to be added to any of the pastas or tacos. The total for 5 people, with no alcohol, one soda, one order of calamari, the $3 bread, and the already added gratuity (which they did mention was already added in at 20% and it was also stated on the bill) ended up being $208. Overall, the food was fine, nothing to make a special trip for. Service was friendly, but very slow. The vibes were a little mismatched - Mexican food with Italian food and plastic cups with white table clothes. Overall, it's a fine experience if you are needing a reservation.
