Having lived in Wakefield and enjoyed being within walking distance of that location, we were excited to see they had a Marblehead location after we moved to Salem. Hubs bday choice was to try them out:) On January 17th. It was a dark slow Tuesday night; we made reservations, although absolutely was not needed. Greeted by the owner and was surprised another Tricia had reservations the same night, lol! The ambiance is old school Italian bar. Dark woods, country seating. While it was mostly empty, we sat right next to another table of a group of ladies. Given that I mentioned this was a bday celebration, I would have hoped to have a bit of space. But it was overall fine. Our server was great and attentive. The owner came by a few times to check on how we were doing, which was a great touch. Food - oh my. So good. The Citrus salad we started with was juicy fresh and not overdressed, seasoned well. We also tried the arancini, which was very good, smooth, and cheesy. Hubs got some seafood red sauce dish, lol we can't remember what it was! But I do remember he absolutely loved it and said it was cooked perfectly. I had the simple-looking lamb chops and grilled veg. This was amazing! The lamb was cooked perfectly, and wow, those veg were seasoned so well, nice char from the grill I gobbled them up. We ended with a cannoli that was so light and fluffy - perfect ending. We will be back!

Nice restaurant down town. Larger than most of the tiny places downtown. Great service & the food was above average quality for the price. Good size portions. Typical Italian restaurant decor.

Lots of salt and oil. I try this place every couple of years with the hope that it has improved. Nope, it's still lousy.

Took an order for take away and then didn't follow through. Left customers in the lurch. Not good customer service in my book

Half priced apps from 4-6 PM can't be beat. Nice ambiance, good food and nice staff; what more could you ask.

We walked over from our Airbnb, enjoying the gorgeous historic neighborhood along the way. The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and charming, but don't let its size fool you because there are some BIG flavors coming out of this kitchen! You can immediately tell this place is loved by the locals! While we were dining, takeout orders were flying out the door, with people constantly stopping in to grab their food. That's when you KNOW you've found a good spot! The service was wonderful! Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful with recommendations. Now let's talk about the FOOD! We started with their freshly baked rosemary bread served with dipping oil. SO GOOD! The bread was delicious, fragrant, and the perfect way to start our meal! I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and Y'ALL... THAT MARINARA SAUCE!! It was absolutely incredible! The chicken was delicious, and I was practically licking my plate clean! Ben kept trying to steal bites of my dinner, and I couldn't blame him! I also ordered a side of Fettuccine Alfredo, and WOW! This was the real deal! Rich, creamy, flavorful, and nothing like your typical Olive Garden Alfredo. It tasted wonderfully authentic, and you could really appreciate the quality of the pasta! Ben ordered the Chicken Piccata, and he absolutely loved it! He even said he hadn't had a chicken piccata that good in a VERY long time. That's saying something! And can we talk about the handmade pasta?! You can absolutely taste the difference! The texture, the freshness, the way it holds the sauce... WOW, WOW, WOW! Every bite was delicious! What I loved most about The Little Store was that it felt like discovering a true neighborhood favorite. Nothing overly fancy or pretentious, just wonderful hospitality, comforting Italian food, and a kitchen that clearly knows what it's doing! If you're visiting Marblehead, PLEASE make time to eat here! And if you're staying in the historic part of town, enjoy the beautiful walk over like we did! We HIGHLY recommend The Little Store Pastaria! It's exactly the kind of charming, locally loved restaurant that makes exploring a new town so special. We will absolutely be coming back the next time we're in Marblehead!

When a server finally did approach our table, instead of asking if we had been helped, she asked if we were moving. There were four of us sitting there waiting for service, and the entire interaction made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don't like jumping to conclusions, but the difference in how we were treated made it very difficult not to question whether there was some type of bias involved. If that wasn't the reason, then there is still a serious issue with the level of service and how guests are being treated. The most disappointing part is that we drove all the way from Virginia to experience Salem and were genuinely excited to be here. To have one of our first experiences leave us feeling this unwelcome was incredibly upsetting. Waiting 20 minutes is one thing. Being completely ignored and then finally approached only to be asked if we were moving is another. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we simply weren't wanted there.

I stopped by Piccolo Piatti mid-afternoon and the place was fairly busy with people hanging out waiting for their orders. I ordered a Salmon Bowl ($16 plus tax) which was ready in about 25 minutes after ordering since there were already large orders before mine. I watched the two cooks prepare food in the kitchen as I waited. The Salmon Bowl was really good with nice flavors, which had white rice, mixed greens, red onions, pico de gallo, hot tender honey glazed salmon smoothed with a pesto mayo. I will definitely have to drop in again for a hot sandwich with a smoothie!
