We love speakeasy's!! Awesome back alley door. Dark and moody inside. Perfect!! We sat at the bar. Service was great! We came in for a quick cocktail before our scheduled walking tour of Salem

Friend and I were stoked about trying this hidden gem out. I guess it's really not so theoretically hidden. Their door is in an alley way. That's connected to the dire wolf tavern. We walked in around 10 and it was busy. We just wanted to scope it out and have one drink. We thought you could order appetizers but suppose the kitchen may shut down around 8/9p. They close at 11pm which was rare to find anywhere open as late for a Tuesday night. It's definitely not our idea of a speakeasy. It's very hipsters millennial vibes. They had club style/house music playing. With a tv on playing scooby doo. Not much for seating when it's crowded. You can sit around the bar our lounges. One love seat and a couch. It's self serve as you have to go to the bar to place your order. The bartenders were nice and cordial. Drink prices are $10-up. I tried their pale moon option. Which falls under their lighter options. It wasn't bad, but was it worth the price- not really!! It had an odd dry aftertaste. It's definitely a place to experience for yourself. It won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Great food with decent prices. You can order off the Dire Wolf menu (that place is always packed and you need a reservation) but at the bar instead of via table service. They have water you can fill for yourself too. Vibes are good!

I'm not sure if they branded themself as a speakeasy or what, but I don't think its entirely correct. Its the downstairs of a bar that you can enter through a side door if your feeling adventurous. The bar is well decorated, with the option to sit at the bar, a few couches, or table tops. They definitely need more seating. The place was pretty empty when we arrived but we still had a wait a minute to find anywhere to sit. We went on the Thursday and the kitchen was closing (we got there around 9 I think?) so we didn't get the chance to try the food but the drinks were good! Cocktails are around $15, which is expensive in my opinion. It's a fun spot to checkout, but we thought we'd spend a lot more time there than we did. A bit underwhelming but if you have some time and are in the area it's a fun spot.

Cute little lounge . Not a ton of drink options but what I had was great. Food was decent too but kind of pricy

A misunderstanding led to a very rude encounter between my group and the bartender. We were refused service due to a bad tip. We paid and left for our first visit there. Accidentally under-tipped but we were planning to return very soon anyway to enjoy the show that was later. Came back after about 10 minutes of being gone- with the intention of correcting the mistake as well as ordering more and having a good time. The bartender told my friend directly that she wasn't going to get served bc she tipped so poorly before she was able to say a word. He then walked away to serve other people. She had to wait a very long time before she was even looked at again and waited quite a while to finally get drinks for our group and came back to us crying. She wasn't allowed to open a tab for the night. We tried to still have a good time and tipped the performers and bought other people drinks but even then the bartender would make us wait and ignore my friend when she would come up. We had just eaten upstairs and tipped normally. We tipped normally Down at the bar the rest of the night even though he was very mean to us even after we tried to make things right. He seemed to let his emotions get the best of him even when the people who "wronged" him tried to make amends. Kinda sucks.

Cold beer. Strong drinks. Fast service. Reliable bartenders. Reliable information. Cozy atmosphere. I'll be back for a comedy night or two.

Pretty cool place to get a drink. Went for the first time on a Saturday in December around 6pm. Plenty of seating, drinks were good, and staff was attentive. Prices are a little high but the drinks and food (from Dire wolf tavern) are pretty good.

This is a cute lil speakeasy that I highly recommend you visit. The speakeasy is in the alley next to Dire Wolf. It's a cozy environment and they share the same menu as Dire Wolf so you still get access to all their dishes. My guest and I were a bit confused by the menu since they offer a mash of different cuisines from sandwiches to sushi. My guest ordered fried rice and really enjoyed it. I got a Caesar salad and fries which were yummy and we enjoyed our drinks with the great ambiance. Overall, great place.

This speakeasy has potential but when I visited it felt kind of unorganized and all over the place. They were also really understaffed so I do understand that. The food menu looked really good but we just had a couple of drinks. The cocktail menu was unique and interesting but the first cocktail I had just didnt work well flavor wise so I went with an espresso martini after that, and that was good. Its a cool vibe in there for sure and worth checking our if youre into speakeasy vibes!

Food was good with large portion sizes. Cocktail menu wasn't my fav, but the bartenders were friendly and the scene is definitely what we were looking for

Behind the door in the alley lie good drinks in a vaulted chamber. Wish it had more of a cocktail program than it does.

Over the next 20 minutes (without service or even a "come to the bar to order even though you're sitting at a table") we watched as three more couples walked in, met by the bartender (who passed by us to accomplish ) brought to a table, and then served. When the second bartender came out from around the bar, we perked up, only to find them addressing yet another couple that arrived after us. We got zero drinks, we got zero acknowledgment. For a bar that says "all souls welcome", we certainly did not feel it.

I got a kick out of being handed my food by someone in a pig mask. Other reviews give you the low-down, so I'll discuss the food. The menu (only one item, or one item plus snacks) is posted by the intercom. On the evening I went, it was a pulled pork sandwich. I opted for the snacks option, and it came with root beer, Utz chips, and an oatmeal creme cookie. The sandwich was delicious. I got one for my dad too, and he loved it. The pork was well-seasoned and the bacon was thick, crisp, and tasty. The bun was also good. I feel like buns are often an afterthought with sandwiches, but not here. It was a high quality Kaiser roll, and it held up to the toppings (pork, bacon, slaw) well. The house-brand root beer was also good. She and much of my family really like this place and rave about it, but my overall first impression was definitely a mixed bag. My mom made the reservation for Saturday at 4:45pm in the dining room. We arrived a little early, so she showed me around the beautifully renovated building. When we checked in with someone, they redirected us to the bar area downstairs as they were holding a private event in the main dining area. Okay, not a big deal to us. However I could understand if someone else might get a little annoyed at being told they had to go to the bar area when they specifically asked for the dining room on their reservation. I have to say that I do love the downstairs bar area, it's classy and has a vintage speakeasy vibe. We were quickly greeted by one of the guys working the bar who was super nice and did a great job. For a drink I started with their version of an espresso martini, which was a good start to the food experience and gave me high hopes. They brought us out some popovers which to me were just okay. For an appetizer we got some buffalo chicken dip, which was quite delicious. For dinner my mom got a Caesar salad (which I tried a little bit of and thought was good) and a flatbread pizza that was on special. I decided to be a little bougie and went with the braised short ribs, and I regret to say that the dish fell flat for me. The short rib did come apart okay when I stuck my fork in it, but it was kind of chewy, bland and overall really didn't have much flavor. The menu also states that the short rib is served with broccolini (which is a milder, sweeter version of the green vegetable) but it came with regular plain broccoli instead, which I was also quite honestly disappointed by. With all that being said the polenta was my favorite thing on the plate. I'm a little conflicted. The place is beautiful and the staff is so nice. But with how much it was hyped up to me, I was a little let down. I'm kind of thinking that I should've went with another dish? I really want to truly love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back with family at some point to give them another chance.
