Cute unexpected spot. They had so many sushi options and they were good. Also got the truffle fries and they were great as well. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really great. The drinks were good too. Def a vibe inside. Its first come first serve so deft there early.

This is a hip spot that is secretly (although not so secretly) located below Dire Wolf. It can get pretty busy on a weekend night and there have been times I have gone that I wasn't able to get a seat at the bar or in the lounge. They have special events sometimes and a fun rotating seasonal craft cocktail selection. They have mocktails too if alcohol isn't your vibe. The atmosphere, though, is for everyone and it's just right.

Not really a speak easy. Kinda disappointing. Definitely shouldn't have the sign outside the alleyway lol. Was a bit busy but also isn't that big. Only have certain drinks and they were really weird. No one in Salem has even heard of it really and never been there. Definitely would not go again. Also shares a bathroom with Dire wolf tavern. When u walk in the door u also can go straight into DW.

Spooky and moody, Im so happy we got to come here on our trip. It's in the basement of Dire Wolf Tavern. They also serve food downstairs which I didn't realize - but I'm glad I got to experience both places! The cocktails are very unique and creative, and the environment is everything you want from a haunted speakeasy in Salem.

We love speakeasy's!! Awesome back alley door. Dark and moody inside. Perfect!! We sat at the bar. Service was great! We came in for a quick cocktail before our scheduled walking tour of Salem

Friend and I were stoked about trying this hidden gem out. I guess it's really not so theoretically hidden. Their door is in an alley way. That's connected to the dire wolf tavern. We walked in around 10 and it was busy. We just wanted to scope it out and have one drink. We thought you could order appetizers but suppose the kitchen may shut down around 8/9p. They close at 11pm which was rare to find anywhere open as late for a Tuesday night. It's definitely not our idea of a speakeasy. It's very hipsters millennial vibes. They had club style/house music playing. With a tv on playing scooby doo. Not much for seating when it's crowded. You can sit around the bar our lounges. One love seat and a couch. It's self serve as you have to go to the bar to place your order. The bartenders were nice and cordial. Drink prices are $10-up. I tried their pale moon option. Which falls under their lighter options. It wasn't bad, but was it worth the price- not really!! It had an odd dry aftertaste. It's definitely a place to experience for yourself. It won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Great food with decent prices. You can order off the Dire Wolf menu (that place is always packed and you need a reservation) but at the bar instead of via table service. They have water you can fill for yourself too. Vibes are good!

I'm not sure if they branded themself as a speakeasy or what, but I don't think its entirely correct. Its the downstairs of a bar that you can enter through a side door if your feeling adventurous. The bar is well decorated, with the option to sit at the bar, a few couches, or table tops. They definitely need more seating. The place was pretty empty when we arrived but we still had a wait a minute to find anywhere to sit. We went on the Thursday and the kitchen was closing (we got there around 9 I think?) so we didn't get the chance to try the food but the drinks were good! Cocktails are around $15, which is expensive in my opinion. It's a fun spot to checkout, but we thought we'd spend a lot more time there than we did. A bit underwhelming but if you have some time and are in the area it's a fun spot.

Lemon drop martini with no sugar around the rim. To be honest it wasn't very good.

EDIT: Management reached out and HANDLED things. I love a business that is accountable and listens to customers. We will be back in the future. Changing the star rating to 4 stars. My two girlfriends and I ate dinner upstairs and then came down for some drinks. We would have had a perfect night there aside from the male bartender that was bald. He said his name was Ryan. One of the girls in my group wanted to go back to the hotel and me and my other friend wanted to stay because there was a drag show. We told the male bartender that we would be back because we were going to walk her to the hotel to make sure she made it safely. We went ahead and paid for the drinks we had already drank. (All three of us had one mixed drink that he brought to our table. The next was a shot that we went to the bar and got and brought back to our table. The last shot was the female bartender that brought it to us. So he literally took ONE singular order and brought it to our table at this point) We then walked our friend home and came directly back. We were gone for maybe 15 minutes. We got back and tried to get more drinks. My friend waited for at least 15 minutes trying to get a drink and was ignored. She started talking to a couple of other people at the bar and was trying to buy them a drink as well. Ryan, the bald tall bartender looked at my friend and told her "to be honest I'm not going to let you start a tab because you're a shitty tipper". He wouldn't even let her explain herself (though in my opinion she shouldn't have to) We told him we would be right back and we don't tip people until the end of the night because we tip one big amount. She got teary-eyed went ahead and left him a $30 tip. We didn't buy any more drinks the rest of the night because that was embarrassing and insanely rude. We tipped the people in the drag show so we spent our money on that instead and had a great time. If I was the owner of this business I would be getting rid of that guy as soon as possible. That's how you ruin your business. If that guy is more concerned about his tip than serving drinks, that place is going to go downhill quick. It's kind of unbelievable that a grown man had a little tantrum over only getting a few dollar tip when he only served us one singular drink at that point. Wild. And again, we were there to order many more drinks and stay the whole evening and then tip a generous amount at the end. I've been a server and I cannot imagine not serving because somebody only left you a few dollars when the night was JUST getting started. Also to be honest the lemon drop martini that he made me was ass. I'll post a picture of it though.

Cute little lounge . Not a ton of drink options but what I had was great. Food was decent too but kind of pricy

Cold beer. Strong drinks. Fast service. Reliable bartenders. Reliable information. Cozy atmosphere. I'll be back for a comedy night or two.

This is a cute lil speakeasy that I highly recommend you visit. The speakeasy is in the alley next to Dire Wolf. It's a cozy environment and they share the same menu as Dire Wolf so you still get access to all their dishes. My guest and I were a bit confused by the menu since they offer a mash of different cuisines from sandwiches to sushi. My guest ordered fried rice and really enjoyed it. I got a Caesar salad and fries which were yummy and we enjoyed our drinks with the great ambiance. Overall, great place.

Pretty cool place to get a drink. Went for the first time on a Saturday in December around 6pm. Plenty of seating, drinks were good, and staff was attentive. Prices are a little high but the drinks and food (from Dire wolf tavern) are pretty good.

All Souls Lounge in Salem was the perfect sanctuary. It's a small, intimate spot that fills up fast, if you don't get there early, you'll be left haunting the sidewalk waiting for a table. Luckily, they offer outdoor seating, which was great for cooling off after spending two hours surrounded by ceremonial candles. The service was remarkably fast for a packed house. The cocktails were delicious and flavorful, though if you're looking to banish your inner demons in one sip, note that they aren't the absolute strongest in town. What really stole the show, however, was the food menu: they have a massive selection of gourmet grilled cheeses and hot dogs. Speaking of which: after finishing my meal, I went home inspired to attempt another quick ritual. I was trying to summon an ancient Hot Dog Spirit to bless my midnight snack cravings, but I mangled the Latin incantation and accidentally conjured a Grilled Cheese Ghost instead. Now my apartment smells like toasted sourdough, and there is a glowing ectoplasmic slice of melted cheddar hovering over my couch. Overall, a fantastic spot to refuel whether you're a local, a tourist, or just an exhausted practitioner of the dark arts. Highly recommend!

I got a kick out of being handed my food by someone in a pig mask. Other reviews give you the low-down, so I'll discuss the food. The menu (only one item, or one item plus snacks) is posted by the intercom. On the evening I went, it was a pulled pork sandwich. I opted for the snacks option, and it came with root beer, Utz chips, and an oatmeal creme cookie. The sandwich was delicious. I got one for my dad too, and he loved it. The pork was well-seasoned and the bacon was thick, crisp, and tasty. The bun was also good. I feel like buns are often an afterthought with sandwiches, but not here. It was a high quality Kaiser roll, and it held up to the toppings (pork, bacon, slaw) well. The house-brand root beer was also good. If you find yourself in Salem by 5:15 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, get in line for Back Alley Bacon and enjoy.

Someone that works there had walked past us several times, and opened the door. We wandered in, and she said the restaurant was in the basement. When we left, we saw a sign for Cellar. Not knowing the restaurant was named the Cellar, the sign wasn't clear/meaningful. Anyway, we got there eventually. The decor was pretty nice (definitely more bar than restaurant). We chose a table in a quiet corner, which was beneficial and not. The wait staff was very friendly, but we were a bit out of sight out of mind for them. All the food was great, and the cocktail was expertly made, exceeding expectations. They have popovers as the table accoutrements, which are a personal favorite of mine! As mentioned above, I'd consider this a (speakeasy decor) bar with food options, that would be a solid social/meet up spot, with great drinks.

She and much of my family really like this place and rave about it, but my overall first impression was definitely a mixed bag. My mom made the reservation for Saturday at 4:45pm in the dining room. We arrived a little early, so she showed me around the beautifully renovated building. When we checked in with someone, they redirected us to the bar area downstairs as they were holding a private event in the main dining area. Okay, not a big deal to us. However I could understand if someone else might get a little annoyed at being told they had to go to the bar area when they specifically asked for the dining room on their reservation. I have to say that I do love the downstairs bar area, it's classy and has a vintage speakeasy vibe. We were quickly greeted by one of the guys working the bar who was super nice and did a great job. For a drink I started with their version of an espresso martini, which was a good start to the food experience and gave me high hopes. They brought us out some popovers which to me were just okay. For an appetizer we got some buffalo chicken dip, which was quite delicious. For dinner my mom got a Caesar salad (which I tried a little bit of and thought was good) and a flatbread pizza that was on special. I decided to be a little bougie and went with the braised short ribs, and I regret to say that the dish fell flat for me. The short rib did come apart okay when I stuck my fork in it, but it was kind of chewy, bland and overall really didn't have much flavor. The menu also states that the short rib is served with broccolini (which is a milder, sweeter version of the green vegetable) but it came with regular plain broccoli instead, which I was also quite honestly disappointed by. With all that being said the polenta was my favorite thing on the plate. I'm a little conflicted. The place is beautiful and the staff is so nice. But with how much it was hyped up to me, I was a little let down. I'm kind of thinking that I should've went with another dish? I really want to truly love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back with family at some point to give them another chance.
