Everything from food, service and ambiance was great. A great place if you're looking for Asian fusion food in a cool spot. We ordered tuna tataki, mai's mango scallops, oysters, pork belly buns, octopus (special), and Banana Fritters A La Mode and pineapple & orange ice cream. I highly recommend the octopus, banana fritters, and oysters. The octopus was cooked well, and had great flavors. Oysters were fresh and big. If you like thai mango sticky rice, you'll like the banana fritters: it's so tasty. The other dishes were also good; I also really enjoyed the side salad. I'm usually not an ice cream person, but the ice cream was an interesting flavor combination and not too sweet. For drinks, we got the expresso martini and sneaky lychee. My expresso martini was good, however the sneaky lychee was a little too sour for my taste. Our waiter Henry was great. He checked on us often, gave great recommendations and just very personable. Other staff, including Alyssa the hostess, came to check in on us and made us feel welcomed. The space is beautiful itself. There's a lot for parking and it's located on the second floor. I look forward to coming back here next time I'm in town!

We had heard great things about this place and tried it last night for our anniversary. The location should not put you off, it is located in a strip mall kind of area, but the inside is very moody dark, modern lounge feel. Plenty of bar seats, and the table chairs were quite comfortable. I had noted it was our anniversary and when we checked in for our reservation we were greeted warmly with a "Happy Anniversary!" There seemed to be only two servers, but it was a quiet night and we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Sparkling water was offered, hubs got the mai tai and I got a pear tini, which was served with very cool bubble on top. On mondays, they offer a choice between three mai tais and one of three small plates, which the server pointed out to hubs, it saved us a bit of money! We decided on many small plates to get a feel for the food. Lobster rangoons were hefty and the filling was nice and creamy, it maybe coould have used a bit more lobster, but we would order again! Peking Duck eggrolls with a thick plum sauce was so good. Crispy on the outside and generous fillings. this paired exceptionally well with the sauce. Next up, were the bao buns with pork belly, I did not get a pick, but the pork was succulent and the veg played very well. I could eat these all day, every day. Lastly, we got the salt and peper wings with garlic scallion egg rice. The wings were really crispy, juicy and fat. I would only hope for a bit more pepper. Our server told us, next time we can ask for more heat on any of the dishes and they will happily accommodate! Now, you would think, for the rice, eh it just a side. But WOWZA, the flavors were rich umami, nice garlic and scallion hits. The rice is addictable! At the end we had one wing left that we just couldnt eat, but we got a bag to take it home! At the end they treated us to a mango, pineapple, yogurt cold spring roll, that was really tasty and nice way to end the meal. We will be back!

Second time here. This place is outstanding. Service was on point . Food was a work of art. I looked as good as it tasted . We got the Peking duck báo buns, lobster raviolis, shrimp cocktail and bang bang shrimp with garlic noodles. All of it was great . Great mai tai also.

When I walked up to this restaurant I was like "ok" something different...the website doesn't do it justice. You will have to stop by and experience it for yourself. The have inside and outside deck if you don't want to be couped up lol. Our server was very beey good with us. He could've seen it was our first time here. We asked questions and we got answers. I must say a welcoming presence he made for us. Took very good care of us, for sure. And last but not least is the FOOD. As you can see from the pictures the menu was exceptional. There were so much to choose from that I wanted to try almost everything but I couldn't lol ...that will be down right greedy!!! People take it from me this is a in the ruff. Go check it out and trust me you'll thank me for it. I surely will make another visit in the near near future. Believe that!

Mai Tai Lounge is located on 165 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, MA. It is located in a strip mall with ample parking spaces, making it convenient for large gathering. The restaurant is located at a corner lot, upstairs level, but tucked away enough from foot traffic to make your dining experience outdoor private enough should you decide to dine outside. The interior dining space is luxurious with wide back black leather chairs which could even fit myself and my petite 5 year old daughter, with dark wood dining tables, and a very classy bar seating area. I recommend making a reservation, and especially for special events as the restaurant manager and wait staff pay special attention to details, making the event extra special from the moment you are greeted at the door to the end of your meal. I came here with my family to celebrate both Father's Day and my son's 10th birthday. I checked in at the door and got a chance to meet Chef Kevin Le, who happens to be the talk of the town. Our waiter was, and I hope my husband does not read my reviews, was Vietnamese, extremely tall and handsome, and with great hair. He also had a nice voice. I forgot his name as my Margarita was very very strong. The appetizers we ordered were a dozen oysters, tuna tataki, calamari, and tamarind soft shell crab. My son enjoyed the oysters probably just as much as my husband and I did as they were fresh and plump. I tricked my daughter into thinking that the seared tuna was meat since she only likes salmon. Everyone enjoyed the homemade ponzu sauce and the side salad. Both the calamari and tamarind fried soft shell crab were delicious. However, the star was the fried soft shell crab with the tamarind sauce. This was from the special menu. The soft shell crabs were so meaty. They were lightly battered and fried to give them a crispy outside but remain juicy and meaty inside. There was just a light drizzle of tamarind sauce which was enough to give it a subtle sweet and sour taste, a nod to southeastern Asian cuisine such as Thailand and Vietnam. I recommend calling to check for availability of this dish or ordering in advance of coming to make sure you can try this dish. For entree, we ordered salted egg fried twin lobsters and the rack of lamb with a side order of garlic noodles. The lamb we ended up canceling as we over ordered on appetizers. As for the star of the meal, at least in my opinion was the lobster dish prepared by not one but two chefs! The salted egg lobster dish we tried is not your typical salt and pepper or ginger scallion lobsters. If I had to describe it to those who never had this flavoring before, the salted egg coating gives the lobster a dry salted buttery flavoring. It's definitely one to try. Chef Le was so kind to go into the kitchen to make a ceviche out of the lobster tails after overhearing that all of the items I had wanted to try was either sold out or must call in advance. Preparing this dish off the menu gives you an idea as to the outstanding customer service provided by the restaurant. We did not call in advance for the special items menu that I had wanted to try such as the seafood pineapple salad which sold out the day previous, or the scallop and hamachi sashimi or geoduck sashimi that I had wanted to order. I highly recommend calling ahead to plan for a special meal if there is a particular items that you see pictured in Yelp as they are not on the regular menu that is served daily. Or if you were like me, and you weren't able to if you were last minute in deciding to come here, please know that you can still order off the menu with Chef Le and still be able to have an amazing experience by the end of the night. I suggest ordering from the special menu and then completely going off the menu. The night ended beautifully with dessert and extra treats for my children. We ordered the Vietnamese creme brule, which was turned out to be Vietnamese flan, my favorite. On the house was two scoops of ice cream with wafers, one for the birthday boy and one for his little sister with a candle to blow. Again, I can't thank the restaurant enough for the outstanding service that night, the solid and very strong margarita, and amazing food. I highly recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to come back. See my pictures. Pretty sure there will be more pictures added in the near future when I visit again when the New England weather finally pick up.

    Mai Tai, great house drink.

Another date at Mai Tai, what a fun atmosphere. Plus the owner is always present. Which makes for a better restaurant. Rosie was our waitstaff person, she was pleasant and accommodating with recommendations. The food was delicious, just make sure you bring your wallet. Very pricey for steak and drinks.

Mai Tai Lounge is a hidden gem! Made a reservation here for my celebration dinner with my husband and oh boy we loved it! Everything from the drinks to apps/entree and desserts along with their top notch service. The restaurant ambiance was nice, perfect for date night or any celebration/occasion. It is not cheap by any means but worth every penny. This place is now on top of my list, will definitely be back soon to try out other dishes.

My husband and I went to the Mai Tai lounge for the first time last night and we will definitely be back very soon! The food was amazing. We got multiple small dishes to share. We loved everything Henry recommended to us! We got the bang bang shrimp, lobster rangoons, short rib, pork belly buns and spicy pot stickers. We had to get a second order of the pork belly buns because they were THAT good. The staff was very attentive and so nice! The food came out very quick. The drinks were also very good and displayed beautifully. We can't wait to go back to try more of their drinks and dishes!

We had the best time at the Mai Tai Lounge. From the atmosphere to the service and food, everything was top notch! Henry, our waiter was so attentive and had the best recommendations for food and drink choices. Kevin, was so welcoming and is a true artist behind the bar and in the kitchen. Although I didn't get pictures of our food, it was delicious! Oysters, Bang Bang Shrimp, Braised Pork Belly,Garlic Noodles, Filet and so much more. The flavors were on point and made dining a true experience. I would highly recommend this great spot in Marblehead!!

By far the best food we have had in Marblehead. Started with The Perfect Mai Tai, then oysters and dumplings for appetizers, Both great. For dinner we had seared scallops and stir fried beef and asparagus, both off the special menu. We finished with the crème brûlée. Everything was fantastic. Great service.

I had a quality evening here, fresh fatty oysters, octopus sauce, and other dishes are unforgettable, I ordered a total of 5 dishes, each dish is delicious especially I am very satisfied with the service here , attentive and polite, service comes very enthusiastic attentive and fast. After eating, I went to the counter to drink another lychee-flavored cocktail prepared by Hieu. We had a wonderful Saturday evening. Although it takes 40 minutes from Quincy to the restaurant, it deserves to be visited again and again..

We had a wonderful night at Mai Tai Lounge yesterday. We ordered chicken satay, perking duck, stir fried noodles, fresh oysters, grilled oysters, razor clams, butter edamame and mango sticky rice for dessert. The owner - Kelvin gave us 2 more dishes and a liquid dessert cocktail which is very nice I specifically recommend their cocktails. We had mai tai tini, husband daycare, snapchat worthy, best mistake ever ( I love this one) Definitely come back another time

After about 10 to 15 minutes of waiting with no service, we were about to leave when a server finally came to our table. Since they were obviously busy and weren't keeping up with the crowd that night, we tried to order two drinks each so they could save a little of their time and we could relax without worrying about if a server was going to take our order again before the end of the week. The server very sharply said that he was NOT going to give us two drinks at a time, CERTAINLY not with drinks of this high alcohol content. We ordered one drink each, cashed out and bounced. The cocktail I got was fine; I could make a slightly worse version at home at a fraction of the price (or even two at once!). We we were told later by a friendlier Salemite at a bar with a better vibe that there is a Massachusetts state law that prohibits having two drinks at once at a bar. Fair enough. Had our server told us that, unfortunately, he wasn't allowed to give us two drinks at once -- instead of making us feel like idiots/degenerates for daring to ask -- we probably would have dropped a lot of vacation money there that night. Oh well; we had a great time at the other places we went.
