The Muffin Shop is located in the heart of old town Marblehead and popular. Don't be fooled by their name because muffins are just half of what they do. They offer a full scale menu of French toast, pancakes, omelets, bagels, croissants, etc. Sadly, they seem to sell out of muffins quickly but they slowly replenish their stock. There is no table service and you must wait on line to order from their menu which is on their wall. My wife and I visited on a busy Saturday morning at about 0915 hours and they were already out of muffins. Disappointed. I ordered the #5 which consisted of three slices of French toast, sausage and bacon, potatoes, and a coffee. My wife ordered the veggie omelet with sourdough toast, and coffee. It came with potatoes but she declined them. As a coffee snob, the coffee was ok. We were very satisfied with our breakfast. Everything was cooked fresh and served hot. The prices were more than reasonable considering what we pay here in NJ. The staff was friendly. I went back on Sunday morning at 0800 hours, and bought 6 muffins to go. My wife ate a apple cinnamon muffin on Monday morning and approved. Worth the visit if you are in town. read more

This is a must try! Was very impressed with the amount of crab and quality of crab. This was pure crab meat no fillers and not overpowered. After having nothing but lobster rolls for a couple days this was top of my list. PS wife also brought home a peanut butter cookie and muffins. Peanut butter cookie rocked read more

We love the veggie omelette. Good size, great taste, great service, very nice people Very good sitting at a table at the windows. Watching people go by! Louise & her husband are such nice folks. People are very happy eating here. So many things to choose from on the menu!!!! I give them a 10 for food & service. It's a nice old fashioned muffin & breakfast/brunch place. Always pleasant. We started our day at The Muffin Shop with their pumpkin muffins for breakfast, and they were absolutely delicious--perfectly moist and full of flavor. We loved them so much that we came back for lunch and had the lobster rolls, which were hands down the best we've had in Massachusetts! The food here is fresh, flavorful, and a true local gem. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Marblehead! read more

This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I got there at 10:45 ordered a breakfast sandwich and a salad and our food was ready by 12 o'clock. 0 out of 10 do not recommend if you have other things to do in your life. read more

I always enjoy a trip to the muffin shop. Surprisingly I really like their lobster rolls- right in the middle of Marblehead on a brioche roll with a solid pickle and classic cape cod potato chips. The folks working are always friendly, patient and efficient. I have always taken my orders to go, so can't comment much on the interior! read more

Breakfast was great. Food was plentiful. Looking forward to going back to get one of their enormous sugar cookies with sprinkles.Breakfast all day. Great spot to stop at if you find yourself on Washington Street. read more

This was a great place to grab a good breakfast- and the muffins/baked goods are very good too! A highlight- I shared my breakfast bacon with my wife and it broke and fell on the floor. Unprompted, the gentleman behind the counter went in back and brought out her own plate of bacon - no charge and teased us about dropping food! Loved the place! read more

Ordered a sizeable DoorDash order to our AirBNB after reading that it was a good local spot to try out for breakfast. After the food arrived we realized that we were missing the Iced Coffees we had ordered. I called Doordash and they were not of any help-- I called The Muffin Shop directly to inquire about the order and could not have been more pleasantly surprised by how kind and accommodating the owners were. She was so sweet and apologetic, and told me to come in and she would make it right. I made the short walk from our airbnb to the restaurant and was glad that I did-- not only were her and her husband super sweet and kind, I got to see first hand how many amazing treats they had on hand, and got some extra cookies for the kids. In a world where things move at a fast pace all the time, its really easy for things to be overlooked-- they could have easily just dismissed me when I called about the missing coffees (it was that busy that I wouldnt have blamed them). Instead they went out of there way to make sure we were taken care of and things were done right. Clearly these people are old school, have great values, and know what it takes to keep customers happy-- aside from putting out amazing food. Everything we had was a 10/10 (The smoothies and Baked good were top notch), and they have our business whenever we come back to the area in the future! read more

This is a must stop in the area. Great variety of baked goods and breakfast items. Group of 4 walked in and got 2 pumpkins scones which were delicious (strong pumpkin taste), a breakfast sandwich on croissant, and omelet. All the food was out within 10 minutes of ordering. Service from the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Space was tight when it filled up with people, but if you get there before 9 like we did it was in and out. Enjoy! read more

A friendly and spacious breakfast/lunch restaurant right in Marblehead's historic town centre, well known for their amazing muffins and pastries. The breakfast is fine but not great. I got a grilled chicken sandwich that was over priced, lukewarm, the cheese wasn't melted, the chicken was in full breasts and very hard to eat. I've heard stories of mice too. The service wasn't too long and the cashier was nice but the food was just very poor quality and over priced in my opinion. read more

I give this place two stars only because we went there yesterday me and a friend of mine and we got two muffins she got a medium iced coffee I got a soda and it came to $16 and something was not adding up right I talked with one of the workers and they said oh it came to $15 no I looked at the menu that you guys have and there was no way that came to $15 so something is wrong there because you should not have to pay like almost $16 for two muffins and medium coffee and a soda that is like highway robbery in my opinion. The food was good that we had kind of had a little attitude she didn't seem like she was really wanting to be there yesterday, my friend won't go back I will only because I know someone that I visit on that area but we were both very dissatisfied with the price, but there was a nice gentleman there that was very nice very respectful and tried helping me out so all I'm saying is you need to Specify the prices a little better because for two muffins, a medium iced coffee and a soda I don't think it should've came to $$16 they try saying oh she gave me a 20 oh no, my friend only gave her a 10 five and 01 read more

Highly recommend stopping in great food and really nice people.. if your in the area you'll definitely be happy

I cannot speak negatively enough about this place. The food is average at best, the owners are rude and gross.

Delicious muffins and breakfast sandwiches! I had a sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant and it was excellent and fast! The coffee is perfect. The muffins... very moist and crumbly and delicious! Also had a raspberry cheesecake croissant and they did not overstuff the filling and it was excellent! Highly recommended! read more

Stopped here for a late lunch and am so glad we did!! It is a cute quaint spot with a varied menu. We orders the lobster roll, blue berry muffin and the joe frogger cookie. All items were delicious and wish I had the forethought to take extras to go. The lobster roll was so delicious and probably one of the best we had while visiting. The bread was perfectly toasted and deliciously buttered. The crab was lightly tossed in a yummy sauce. Wish we would have each ordered our own as opposed to sharing! The muffin had great flavor and was moist with a nice crunchy top. Wish we had gotten there early enough in the day to order other flavors. Lastly, the cookie was so unsuspecting but so good. It was a molasses based cookie and it was unlike something I've ever had before. It was so flavorful and and incredibly soft and chewy!! Will probably be talking about it for years. read more

Quaint cafe if you like muffins. I do...but I did not here. Locals seem to support it though.

I order grub-hub muffin shop every so often for breakfast and it's always amazing. It's challenging to have a 10/10 omelette delivered so felt compelled to write this review. The omelets are high quality eggs, veggies and meats. They give you a hash brown and toast on the side (buttered for you)! It's the attention to detail for me. My husband and I moved here from Boston and get food delivered quite a bit and are often disappointed (with an exception of some consistent neighborhood gems). I must say the muffin shop never disappoints :) read more

Disclaimer: the only things I've had here are the muffins and the lobster rolls. That said...the best muffins and lobster rolls ever! I think there's an entire lobster in their lobster roll! And the muffins are made from scratch and truly delicious! Owner is very nice. A Marblehead institution. read more

This place came highly recommended as a breakfast spot in Marblehead. My husband had an omelette, which he said was okay, but not everything we were led to believe. I had a muffin, which unfortunately was no better than I could make at home from a box mix. We were hoping the coffee would save this place, but it wasn't very good. I'm giving it a three star, because the Joe Frogger cookie, which is a Marblehead tradition, was very good! You can find information on the Frogger cookie, with its roots in Marblehead, online. I believe the Muffin Shop is the only place in Marblehead that sells them. read more

Best turkey melt in the world! Made to perfection. A little messy but worth it. With a perfect pickle and chips.

This place is awesome, they always friendly staff and the food won't disappoint. I'd recommend this to anyone!

Super adorable for how much food you get! Great atmosphere and customer service. A perfect little local breakfast spot

Really a 3.5 star place, but I'll round up. It's a nice place. Pretty good food (the lobster roll is excellent; it's huge and the cheapest I've seen in the area). Coffee is OK, but could be better. That loses the place a star. The other 0.5 star loss is due to tiny bathrooms (the mens room is the size of a phone booth) and the use of disposable plates and flatware (I expect a bit nicer for the cost and the fact that this store is in Marblehead). read more

Good value for lunch- panini's are generous accompanied with small bag of chips for under $10. I tried the Cuban and it was very tasty and satisfying. Muffins are flavorful with wide assortment if you arrive early. Try the cinnamon chip scone and you will be hooked. read more

In terms of muffins...this place is tops (get it?? muffin tops! ok fine...maybe only I found that funny). I can't say I eat muffins very often, but what I do know is that there is a reason that they sell out quickly and it isn't because they're pretty to look at! Complain all you want about the muffins selling out, but it's only indicative of one thing. The supreme-oh delicousness that abounds in that unassuming, short and stout baked good. By the time I arrived (9:30AM on a Tuesday morning) the majority of good stuff was already gone and eaten. I couldn't believe how fast they must have went. My normal defaults (lemon poppyseed, chocolate chip and blueberry) were gone...so I dumbly pointed to a tray and asked "what's that"? The cheerful high-schooler deftly working the counter replied, "peach"! MMM. Peach is now in the muffin rotation. It was awesome! The large coffee and the muffin came to just over $5.00 - same I would've spent at Dunkin Donuts and far yummier. If you desperately NEED that lemon poppyseed - they do accept orders for pick-up so call ahead and reserve yo' muffins! read more

The Muffin Shop - Peach muffin and a large iced coffee. Mm. - American Near Me - Marblehead, Massachusetts

I've lived in town for a long time and finally decided to give this place a try. I went for a muffin. There was one left, not my flavor, but I took it. The top and sides were were hard and dry with very little to the middle. The older woman who works there was hot and bothered and cranky. I didn't feel the muffin was worth the cost. I do not recommend the Muffin Shop. The bakery at Shaws is far superior in my opinion, and a better price. read more

One of my favorite muffin places. Ever. However, it's very difficult to get a muffin unless you go very early in the morning (they open at 6 am and often sell out before 9 am). I am a big chocolate person but my favorite there is their blueberry muffin. Their pumpkin muffin is also delicious when they offer. And chocolate chip muffin is also a must. It is definitely worth waking up very early! read more

The muffin shop.... Oh my lanta. Located in a cute and charming part Of Marblehead mass, this place seems like a dream come true for anyone seeking a deli-style sandwich, chips and a nice crisp kosher pickle. Well, good luck... You'll get your sandwich, it will taste delicious, but you'll have to wait for it. Depending on what you order- some pieces of bread with ingredients in between them are prioritized before others. Even if you were in front of 4-5 people your order may be pushed to the back of the line. This is what i was told at the counter after waiting 30 minutes for a sandwich. This message was served with a healthy side of "attitude". Good food, just don't come hungry. You'll be waiting! read more

The Muffin Shop - Sunday funday at the muffin shop! - American Near Me - Marblehead, Massachusetts

I don't know about the muffins.. I've only been for lunch, and there are no muffins left at that time. So, I have to assume, the muffins are damn good to sell out entirely by lunch time. Good for the Muffin Shop. Lets talk about lunch. How about, one of the better turkey clubs EVER. Real roasted turkey, super crispy bacon, and just enough mayo/lettuce. Oh, and its gigantic. Two people could probably split it. Only thing it needs is slightly better bread. The chicken salad is very good, however a tad too heavy on the mayo. I won't complain there because seriously, I love any excuse to eat extra mayo.. especially when its not by my own doing. Again, the only real downfall was the bread, soft wheat. But hey, its kind of my fault here because chix salad belongs on a hard roll. Oh and the mustard - they need good deli mustard.. but what can ya do. Its a pretty large place, with a mildly unclear ordering process, though service is friendly. I'll be back when I am looking for a quick bite in Marblehead. Its not hard to find, but it is hard to think "I can get a fresh roasted turkey club here" when you walk by. Its a bit deceiving, considering the name, after all. But look past the sign and the kinda cheesy posters - there's some good food and great A/C blasting in there. read more

Terrific family owned and operated business who cares about what they serve! You can tell the delicious muffins are fresh baked at the crack of dawn each morning! I was lucky enough to have the muffins brought to me, beautifully packed in boxes. Each looked liked little jewels of delicious flavor! Everyone went crazy over them in my office! I was a little slow and only got to taste the blueberry but it was amazing! From reading the reviews it looks like I need to get to the Muffin Shop early to get my fill if I want to try the other flavors! Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? If something is that good, it's in demand and makes us want it that much more? Well done Muffin Shop! Well done! read more
