    Pesto Fettuccine with Broccoli
    Em B.

I have only been here once, so far. I ordered the Pesto Fettuccini with Broccoli, and zoodles made with zucchini, which came to $22. My favorite food is zucchini anything, and pesto to boot? *chefs kiss* It was alright, a little small though. It included sundried tomatoes, but I would have liked some steamed or raw tomatoes as well for a flavor boost. I've had the same dish with a bigger portion at a raw juice bar for $10. I do love that they are organic and have many options on their menu, but the prices are higher than I expected, even as someone who purchases organic groceries. I'd like to try some of their other menu options eventually.

This place is a celebrated neighborhood institution that I hope will never leave us. Their beautiful organic food and staff is always a delight, their hearty dinner bowls for $12.50 are the best bargain in the North Shore for a healthy meal any day of the week. Their personal pizzas and raw pie desserts are delicious, no matter how you slice it. See what I did there ~ ? ^__^

Organic Garden is one of only a handful of raw-vegan restaurants remaining in the US. I feel like there were a lot more back in the 2008-2012 timeframe, but many have closed. I didn't eat of the main dishes here, but I got a range of desserts. The almond chocolate chunk cookie ($3.75) was great: chewy, soft, and with an excellent almond flavor from actual almond flour. The almond butter sandwich ($4) was also pretty good and rich. I thought the blueberry cheesecake ($8.50) was tasty and not too sweet. Lastly, the tiramisu ($10) wasn't bad but didn't blow me away. The flavors felt too subdued to me; if you've had the tiramisu at Cafe Gratitude in Los Angeles, this one pales in comparison. All told, stop by Organic Garden for a dessert or meal.

This place is AWESOME! Everything is vegan. The menu is huge. I ordered 4 different items and was pleased with every single one. I highly recommend this cafe!

I visited Organic Garden Cafe on a sunday afternoon for lunch with my cousins. One of them insisted on it because of her dietary restrictions, and I'm pleased to say it was the right choice. First, their expansive drink menu is wonderful. You can have anything from a nice glass of organic wine, to a matcha latte, to a wheatgrass shot. The service is also excellent. Everyone who helped us was a sweet as can be. For lunch we ordered the Thai Bowl, the Sprout About Salad, and the Pure Pad Thai. Everything was excellent, but the star was the Pad Thai. Wow! For raw pad thai, it was pretty darn close to the "real" thing. The flavors were delicious. I got a couple of desserts before I left as well. I would recommend the vegan carrot cake. So good! Overall, I had a perfect experience and I would certainly come back. It can get a little bit pricey but for organic, clean and fresh healthy food, its worth it!

So so glad we found this little spot! We saw great reviews and popped in last month after leaving Salem. The corn chowder was phenomenal and the portions for everything we ordered were very decent sized. Definitely recommend stopping by here for fresh vegan options, or even just to grab an iced coffee!

Mandarava is one of my absolute favorites in Massachusetts for upscale, excellent pure cooking made from fresh, local ingredients, nothing processed. This is what we got: - Grape leaves: Delicious stuffed grape leave paired with heart of palm and blood orange. Perfect way to start a delicious dinner. - Vegetable creme soup: I think that was one of the best soups I had in a while. It was super flavorful and light. The crispy brussel sprouts on the top provided some crispiness to the plate. - Chickpea tofu: The combination of the chickpea tofu with the delicata squash was just delightful. I wouldn't even know how to improve the plate if I was asked to... - Pot pie: Perfect bite for a winter. It makes you warm up immediately. The flavors were on point. You only need to be patient with this one, since it takes a while until it cools down and you can really enjoy it as it deserves. - Sweets: The description of this plate was only "cherry, blueberry, strawberry, pear" so we didn't really know what to expect. Well, we were served with a delicious piece of cake. Every bite made you come back for more. If I was asked about something to improve, my only recommendation would be to make sure the waitress describes the plate when served. At least the time we were there, that was not the case. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Everyone who works there is friendly and inviting, and even gave us a cute little amuse to start the night and the buckwheat shortbread to end. Here's everything we ordered: Agnolotti stuffed with tofu ricotta, with English peas, bacon, and a savory broth (my entree, I loved this - the broth was quite salty but the peas added a lovely freshness) Fazzoletti e funghi: local blue oyster mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce ‍ (my Mom's entree, also delicious and so umami) "Ivy rose" mocktail with grapefruit, prickly pear, and limeade (delightful!) Appetizers: fried squash blossoms stuffed with tofu ricotta in pomodoro sauce, and housemade focaccia with a trio of whipped butters (thyme and shallot, Calabrian chili, and smoked sweet onion). The ratio of butter to focaccia was more than double what we could use (we ordered more focaccia to spread it on!) but both of these apps were perfect. Foglia burger: house burger patty, tomato jam, garlic aioli, lettuce, onions, pickles, onion ring, housemade focaccia, and spicy agave parsnip fries (my dad's entree and to my delight he really enjoyed it!) Dessert: a gigantic slice of tiramisu (my favorite cake!). This was a huge slab, enough to share and have some leftover for breakfast. A little on the dry side for tiramisu but still really nice. Foglia is such a gem and we had a great time in Bristol, it's a beautiful town. The restaurant is small and cozy but was not too busy when we went. I highly recommend Foglia for a special occasion!

I SO badly wanted to love it but I just can't give the place above a 2 star. The first thing they…read morebrought was almost comical: a nickel-sized square of focaccia with a bit of jam and cheese. I have never in my life been served what I'd consider half a bite of food. I'd almost rather they bring nothing at all than a comically small piece of bread. My food (basil pesto pasta) was good but the quantities are quite small, especially for the price. TLDR: Don't come hungry or on a budget. The real reason for the low rating was the $34 mushroom entree. "Potatoes" here just means two bites of potato, which is kind of crazy considering how cheap potatoes are. "Carrots" meant 4 (kind of sad) carrots, and the mushroom (the main part of the dish) was so small it was comical. My dad was disappointed (he also wanted to love it here) and when they asked how it was, he gave his honest feedback. The waitress took the info back and he repeated his thoughts to the manager about the disappointing portion. He said he only got like two bites of potato and she said "oh they weren't in pyramids?" (Like that resolves the quantity of food?) He repeated again that it was about the quantity and was told "No one has said that about this." I suppose people must only have thought it... Felt really dismissive to say to someone, especially because this plate was apparently new (they said today was the first day they had it). They didn't comp anything or even discount it after the manager came over, which I feel like is standard practice when folks are unhappy with their meal. Felt like she just wanted to shut down the complaint rather than resolve it. They brought us, at the end of the meal, a "thank you" which was 2 lemon candies... there were 3 of us (not that we really wanted them anyway, but weird to not give at least one per person). The atmosphere is relaxed, the place is quite small in a sweet way and it's tucked away from the street, but I will never return. Ridiculous pricing for tiny portions. It felt like a SNL skit.

But finally I did and boy am I happy. Very much a family affair - husband and wife who share maitre'd and server responsibilities. And other relatives in the kitchen cooking up a storm. What first grabbed my attention were the huge number of dosas they offer. Seeing any dosa on a menu at all is a rarity and so to see the wide variety they feature was amazing. I opted for the Andhra Kara Masala and it was excellent. The dosa itself crispy and warm and the condiments beautifully integrated. We opted for the mixed veggie pakoras as an appetizer on the recommendation of the owner and they were served warm and crispy. The batter was light - nothing like the thick sludge that usually adorns the deep fried nuggets of vegetable delight. The accompanying tamarind sauce was sweet and clean and the mint-cilantro suitably refreshing. Lovey got garlic naan and saag paneer. Smooth and creamy, the saag was exactly as hoped for and the garlic naan was chewy, warm and toothsome. Dessert was carrot halwa. Hard to believe carrots make such an excellent warm dessert but they do. Richly satisfying with just the right touch of sweetness. We look forward to returning and sampling the rest of the menu!
