You can very easily tell when someone takes pride in their work no matter what their industry or profession. Our server definitely took pride in her work and professionalism. Then came the food. Terrible lunch. Service was horrible, she couldn't seem to get our drinks to the table, I had to go and ask for it up at the counter along with ketchup and napkins. The worst part was she never followed up on the meal, which was gross. It was supposed to be a grilled sandwich. It was literally soft white bread with grill marks on it, soggy eggplant, soggy spinach, and soggy lettuce. Hard tomatoes... The avocado what I got of it was pretty good. Came here for a hearty breakfast and this place came through! It was packed on a Sunday morning and we had to wait a bit to be seated. I started off with the Nutella iced coffee and got the Early Bird Special with sausage and sourdough toast. The iced coffee was nothing special but hey it's diner coffee. Have frequented here and recommended to friends. The atmosphere is very relaxed and clean with a choice of booths or tables for larger groups. First few visits the food was cooked perfectly and delivered hot to the table. On our last visit with a party of 4 mid morning after the breakfast rush, some food was partially burnt and not warm. Not sure if the cooks have changed but it was disappointing. The burnt sides were plated on the bottom so didn't notice till they were cut up and on the fork. Their gluten free options are great, pancakes were excellent. Coffee always tastes burnt but must be the brew as it was fresh per the waitress. Will try again in case this was a one off. There is array of freshly squeezed juices to have straight up or create a Mimosa. The Avocado Toast was beautifully presented and so yummy. Placed an order on Toast. We spent almost $90 dollars for a ton of food for the family. The DoorDash driver picked up the food and was here in maybe 10 minutes. Normally I'd love to blame DoorDash, but the restaurant clearly just let the food sit around and get soggy. Breakfast sandwiches couldn't be separated from the wrapper. Home fries were not edible. Pancake was wet on the bottom. Poached eggs weren't runny at all. Mistakes happen. I called the restaurant and get yelled at by some lady who said she was in charge. There this am with 4 friends. Waitress was lovely as was the service. No problem until we stayed beyond normal amount of time. However, we frequently checked to be sure there were other available tables and no one was waiting. Suddenly, an older woman appeared at our table and began clearing it off. At this point, our plates had been removed. She then proceeded to reappear 3 additional times to remove items and restock the table. We all felt she wanted us to leave. Her behavior was annoying at the very least and unnecessary. I have been here many times and never had a problem. Will definitely rethink going back sorry to say. read more

We just had breakfast there this morning, 1/8/2025. We are a party of three. We each ordered coffee. One had a western omelet with toast, two of us had the Irish Benny. The server was attentive, and friendly. She was prompt. The prices are expensive, and accurately reflect the rising costs of everything nowadays. The Irish Benny was only ok. It lacked flavor. The hollandaise sauce was flavorless and scant. The house made corned beef has was skimpy and flavorless. I added salt and pepper but it was still lackluster. The home fries were ok, but not flavorful. Adding ketchup caused them to taste exclusively of ketchup. Our meals were a touch cool when delivered to us. The diner is clean, conveniently located, has ample seating, and friendly staff. The coffee is meh. The mugs are lovely! Little pot bellied ceramic mugs in various shades of blue! For the three of us it was close to $60, and with tip more than $60. We three are in this area once a month so have breakfast together on the first Wednesday of the month. The bacon was crisp, the eggs buttery, and the home fries perfectly browned on the outside and pillowy inside. The French toast came on a separate plate with whipped cream and powdered sugar. So my friend Leo goes there all the time with various people. He took me there during covid for the first time, I then took a couple of people, now everyone goes there regularly. This is one of 2 places I go to regularly when we go for breakfast, which isn't that often unfortunately. Leo always gets the bagel, cream cheese, lox and loves every bite. I vary things. I sometimes get the corned beef hash with an egg on it. I think it's the best hash since Leslie's Retreat in Salem closed. It is a very generous portion, so I take half home to cook up with eggs the next morning. My 19 year old always chooses Early Harvest when I take him out. He will get a large medley of food: pancakes, eggs, home fries, bacon, etc. He takes half of it home and he has an appetite. I have to say, that Artie is part of the reason we love it so much. He has been there for years, and I only want to sit in his area. What a doll. It's located in Cummings Park, where there used to be a BBQ place. This is so much better! This is very much a local secret and you see all ages there. I always see a big table of what looks to be high school kids, I see many families with little kids who seem happy to be there, and lots of older people, too. First of all, I must say I do like this place. I've been going there since it opened. However, I have the same complaint since then and nothing changes. I love the food, the people, the service, but two things get to me. First of all, this is a breakfast place, people love their coffee. I don't think I'd be overstating it to say this place has the worst coffee in Beverly it taste like dishwater. I've spoken with other patrons and They agree. The coffee selection could be greatly improved. My second complaint is it there is no Internet service. What coffee shop doesn't offer that service if it's worth it salt. Second time at Early Harvest Diner on Veterans Day. I arrived about 5 minutes before the two people I was eating with. The hostess told me she would not seat me until the other two people arrived. I told her I wanted to be seated to have coffee while I waited. She told me sit in the waiting area and wait. I asked if that was how they were going to treat a veteran on Veterans Day. She said just have a seat sir. Once we were seated he waited 15 minutes before a server came to our table. I was dissatisfied with their attitude and subsequent service. Today was the first time i felt extremely awkward being in here. I've normally gone with my wife for breakfast but today I had my step daughter and our grandson. What a wonderful surprise! We had an appointment at the Cummings Center and decided to try out this little diner for our first post-vaccination breakfast a few weeks after our shots.
