Coffee is smooth, and consistently tastes the same which I admire. The wait staff is great. My pet peeve, is that they have all these signs that say that the booths are saved for 2 people or more, and there are often booths with just one person working. Yes, some are waiting for someone, but many are not. Just frustrating cause when it is busy and I want a booth for me and my friends, I want a booth. Ok I'm done. The only thing that came through strongly was the salt crystals on the top of the biscuit. Tried a bite of my husband's chicken salad on a cheddar/onion biscuit and had the same reaction - the biscuit overpowered everything else. Not that I'm complaining. The bakery is on a side street off the busier, more touristy Rogers Street. I had this idea too late but next time I'm in Gloucester, I'd take a biscuit sandwich to the beach area along Western Ave. The cafe itself is very, very cute, with little nooks and crannies everywhere for seating and even a comfy looking couch. The acai bowls are priced from $13 (small 1-2 people) to $17 (medium) $19 (large 4 people) with up to 8 choices of toppings. I decided on a Small American Classic Acai Bowl ($13 plus tax) which has acai, strawberry, blueberry, granola, honey, and cashews and I customized with additions of mango, kiwi, and coconut flakes. My bowl was made to order quickly and packed up well, over the top with plenty of toppings over the rim of the plastic bowl. I drove down the road to a coffee place and enjoyed my very sweet acai bowl with some black coffee. They essentially made my acai bowl the way I liked it with plenty of fresh fruits, nuts, and honey. I couldn't finish this in one sitting and stuck it in the freezer to enjoy the next day. I would definitely stop by again if I happen to be driving by and need a sweet fruity dessert.
