The biggest challenge is getting here. If you're not local the Marblehead streets can seem maze like but plug in your app and follow along. You think you are at the end and there it is! The interior is very small so if you are a group, I recommend sending a designated person to order. We went standard Lobster Rolls with butter on the side. There was a little confusion about line order but they were very apologetic. There are very limited chairs in the lot to eat at and I think maybe 1 picnic table? We decided to bring it home to eat. Amazing place with fresh seafood! We ordered lobster rolls to eat there (what a view of Little Harbor) in arondack chairs! We also ordered clam chowder (cold) to enjoy later for dinner. Everything there is fresh - boat to table! Cooking and prepping on all on site! We were told the lobsters were cooked at 3am this morning! That's fresh. We had our lobster rolls with butter but they also offer with mayo. The buns were nicely toasted setved with homade chips! The lobster meat, just stop there, tail, claws, all parts, and so much of it! Well worth every dollar we paid! There were lobsters in the tank and when one of the staff members pulled out one for photos ops! It was so fun! Very nice and friendly staff. It shows they are family (two families) owned and runned! Our meals came out faster than expected and we're brought out to our chairs. They have a good selection of wines and beers! Great place for lunch or picking up items for dinner at home! The hidden local favorite seafood place in Marblehead. Small business by the water, you can get the best lobster roll LOADED with lobster meat (not just the meat from the claws). Comes in 2 flavors: mayonnaise or lemon butter. Both are amazingly good. They also have lobsters, crab cakes, fish cakes, chowders, etc. you can get raw seafood here as well. Without hesitation, Little Harbor Lobster has the BEST lobster roll. Seriously, hands down the BEST. This is a little seaside grab n go place, with some outdoor seating. There is not a ton of parking, but I have not had any challenges getting in/out because of the quick turnover time with most customers picking up orders or grabbing and going. The lobster meat tastes fresh, and they load their roll with 1/3lb of meat. I love that they do not add any fillers like celery to their lobster rolls. The spicy tuna with won ton chips is also phenomenal. They are open year round. Employees are always friendly and quick to serve you. They also have beer and a fridge/freezer section. I can't say enough about how much I loved this cool little spot. I think of this business so warmly and when I think of my trip to Marblehead, this was one of my favorites. If you're a visitor by car like we were, know there's literally like 2 parking spots and a handful of "is this a parking spot or am I making this a parking spot?" spots. Be patient and prepare to circle the block until something opens. Little Harbor Lobster offers to-go lobster rolls and a variety of refrigerated and frozen dishes to buy to-go. Keep in mind, this is not a sit-down restaurant. This is a coastal lobster business with grab-and-go stuff only. We met Eric and he was a delight. He literally pulled out lobsters, explained to us about his business and told us about the different native lobsters. We really enjoyed hearing his stories as a local business owner. The lobster roll was one of the best I've ever had! You cannot beat the quality of freshness. The price was super fair given local competitors. I'm drooling just thinking about it! I just happened to be driving in the neighborhood and literally stumbled onto the sign pointing me in the direction of the "best lobster roll of the north shore." Well, surely I couldn't pass up this opportunity presented to me. I followed the sign's arrow which led me to the Little Harbor Lobster Co. right there on the waterfront; couldn't have asked for a fresher catch! I already knew I was ordering the lobster roll but perused the menu just to take note of their offerings (steamed lobsters, cocktail shrimp, fish cakes, salmon pate, seafood chowder, and more). I walked up to the outdoor counter and was greeted promptly. I placed my order for the lobster roll and was asked if I'd like it with mayo or butter (I decided to get it with mayo and then also butter on the side for a lil dunk here n there; I recommend this option if you're looking for an indulgent experience). Once the order was placed I was told it would be just a few minutes. As I waited for my order, I enjoyed the fresh air, nice weather, and views of the harbor right there on the waterfront. My order was ready in no time and I had the goods in hand. When I opened up the to go container, I was greeted by what looked like a scrumptiously full, meaty lobster roll. So, how was it?! Well, I can confirm that, from the first bite to the very last, it was probably one of if not THE BEST damnnn lobster rolls I've ever had! Extremely fresh (obviously), great taste, good portions of lobster meat, tender, mayo done lightly which was perfect, good bun. First, it should be called hidden harbor because it is HARD to find ... like most of Marblehead. That's the only non-positive thing I could say...but, you're here. In a magical little cove with the sound of lapping waves, gentle breezes coming off the 270 degrees of salt water in front of you and your lone picnic table. The 'shop', classic New England; small, cramped and filled to the gills with seafood options fresh from the ramp and boats moored outside. After ordering, one takes a seat at the table to be entertained by the boats coming and going as well as Fred, a local dog, out for his mid day fetch. Once the food arrives...they DO bring it out...you marvel at the size and aromas. Lobster rolls, clam chowder and local IPAs...the real deal! As epic as the price you just paid. One of the good places in the area to take out fresh caught lobster- though honestly we went with a different place in town which was $3-4 cheaper by the pound. Fresh as it gets. Found this hidden gem at the recommendation of an informed local. No frills seafood counter perfect for pick up take home seafood. Fish chowder and clam chowder were really tasty thinner style examples. Bread was solid and the lobster was as fresh and delicious as it gets.. we chartered a boat a couple of days later and brought home some live lobster, and steamed it.. ate it fresh and then ate some the next day.
