I was working up the street and this place was one of the closest things on Yelp. Sophia's is the hotel restaurant inside the Marriott. The food was excellent. The clam chowder was fresh and hot. I would have ordered a bowl if one were on the menu, but the cup had to do. I followed it with the cajun pasta and I added chicken. It too, was on-point and the portion size was generous. A out the only thing that would have improved dinner would have been if there was a roll to help soak up the remaining sauce. Since this was a hotel bar at the end of the day, I found it to be a little bit loud, but not ridiculously so. Staff was excellent. My waitress was attentive and did her job wonderfully and promptly. This is for the morning breakfast. One of the best best best breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel. I got the brioche toast which was nice and fluffy. White powdered sugar. Container of honey/ syrup. Delicious fresh fruit. Some butter on the side to smother on top of the French toast. Honestly, so so so so delicious. Wow it was just so good. I actually want another right now but I'll save my appetite for tomorrow. Service was quick also! Seated right away with no issues. You CANNOT go wrong with the brioche toast. Trust me, it's so good. It's a hotel restaurant and I didn't expect much. The tiny menu is average and ask for things to be lightly sauced or dressed (such as Pesto pasta - drowning in sauce) if you don't want your food swimming in it. Skip the over-priced breakfast. My veggie-man ordered a flatbread with peppers and onions on it. Server/Bartender (one lady was running the entire place, which was not crowded in January) was super nice. She deserves a BIG raise! I stayed at the hotel and ordered room service. There isn't anything for miles so it's either DoorDash or this place. I ordered the garden salad with chicken. Between the delivery fee and tip it ended being the worst $33 salad I've ever had. The salad came in a large container (same as the ones Sweet Greens uses) but it was 95% lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and a few slices cucumbers. Nothing else. The chicken came in its own container but it was tiny and over cooked. If I had known this wasn't a real restaurant I would have ordered the fried food options to at least enjoy my dinner. I recommend they stop offering salads (they only had two options; Caesar or garden). I guess when you have a captive audience (people staying at the hotel) you don't need to serve real food. I'll make the drive next time and skip eating here. Might even just stay at one of the other two Marriott properties near here. read more

As frequent travelers we tend to avoid eateries in hotels as their service and food quality is usually subpar. Sophia's turned out to be a real surprise. Ate there twice. Sampled the black bean burger which was fresh, well seasoned served on a wheat roll. Good texture and flavor. Also the turkey burger which came with a nice aioli sauce and plenty of avocado. Both had good side choices, the fries average but the side salad was fresh, large and had all the expected items plus. Partner tried the 8 oz bacon burger with cheese. Cooked to order, always a surprise for that, plenty of bacon too. Lastly, pepperoni flatbread pizza . Enough for two, plenty of both, meat and cheese. Ambiance was average as the eating area shares space with the bar so a little loud. Service was over the top, shout out to Betsy, as they were quick, attentive, thorough but not pushy . It also saves a drive of 15 minutes to the nearest next best place to eat. read more

I went downstairs after arriving, starving, not expecting too much. I was so pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Lobster Roll and fries, and I was shocked at the quality of the lobster, the perfect amount of mayo, the perfectly toasted roll - yum. I usually end up removing the lettuce because it is wilted or gross, but not here! The fries were crinkle cut and crisp, the iced tea was fresh brewed - I dream of this lunch almost every day! read more

Breakfast here is pricey ($40 including tax and tip for two at the buffet) but I really liked it. It kept me full until dinner. Lunch was greasy and the cole slaw that came with my club sandwich was spoiled. I sent it back. The place was never crowded when I was there but service was always a little bit spotty. So, I'm kind of torn...a little bit good but a little bit bad. It's not easy to walk to any other location from this hotel because it's located off the highway. very average... typical hotel lobby restaurant with mediocre food that taste like every other chain out there. Breakfast = BLT Grilled Cheese with Hash browns (super oily all the way around) Dinner = Sesame chicken salad (absolutely drenched in dressing ... to the point that the lettuce was unrecognizable) Unfortunately it is way more expensive and the service is terrible. Met up with a friend who was staying at this hotel back in early June. We met around 4:00 on a Saturday for an early dinner before she had to leave. Saturday afternoon (pre-dinner rush) must be a quiet time for Sophia's because the place was dead.. we enjoyed the quiet, being able to talk with little interruption and all but still we thought that was odd. When you walk into the hotel, the restaurant is directly to your right, easy to find and there are a good amount of tables/booths. We stood there awkwardly at first, because although the front desk staff said they were open, there was not a worker to be found. After a minute or two someone noticed us and said to sit anywhere (there was literally no one else in the restaurant), so we did. Our waiter came out shortly thereafter, Edward, who was very nice. We each got a drink and a few apps, everything was good and I have to say the clam chowder was delicious. Nice thick broth, big chunks of clams and potatoes - I would get it again. I thought everything was reasonably priced too. I would absolutely eat here again if I was in the area. When we left just after 5:00 we were still the only ones in sight, but dont let the lack of crowd deter you.. it was all delicious. read more

I went there for dinner with my husband and daughter. It was rather pricey, in my opinion ($47 for the three of us to eat, not including tip). The restaurant itself is very, very nice--modern, somewhat upscale and with nice lighting. The food was average, and the service was very slow. read more
