A popular seafood restaurant in Rockport. The wait was expected to be 45 minutes at 6:30 pm on…read moreFriday, so to catch the Commuter Rail, we had to takeout and eat on the train. Lazy Lobster Casserole: 4oz of lobster meat, baked with butter and breadcrumbs, quite satisfying. The lobster meat was firm and delicious, the butter was fragrant, but the breadcrumbs were too burnt, and the seasoning was a bit too salty. Fried Calamari: Just average fried calamari, too much batter. We should have ordered fried scallops, but my dad wanted calamari... Baked Potato: Another average baked potato. We discovered they served it with butter afterward Coleslaw: Not very good. The sweetness was generally right, but it lacked a clear, bright flavor. Side Salad: Sweet and sour, very refreshing!

Not even fifteen minutes later, the space filled up with people asking for window tables. Street parking right outside was easy since it was a weekday pre-lunch rush, but I wouldn't bet on it during busier times. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder to share, the fried haddock basket with a side of slaw, and the fish tacos with a side of fries. The one unfortunate thing was that our fries had a strand of hair embedded inside, but they were able to replace it for us. Otherwise a pretty decent meal to start off our day strolling around the neighborhood.

My buddy had a kettle one martini, and I had an old-fashioned with makers. We share an appetizers of mussels and garlic, white wine, cream broth, served with toasted bread. Best part is they shelled the muscles. $24. I had the crostini special. Lobster salad on toast, tuna salad on toast, and crabcake on toast. Served over a salad. $40 My buddy got shrimp and a spicy marinara sauce over house-made pappadelle pasta. several good size shrimp and just the right amount of spicy kick. $42 - he couldn't finish it. Too full for dessert. Ended it with a delicious cup of coffee. Not too strong, with a little punch. Was sat outside on the side porch and had a lovely view of the ocean, shaded with a slight breeze. It was a nicely leisurely lunch. On the higher side, but certainly well worth it! Our server was Ariel, and she was wonderful. Very personable, took the time to explain the menu, and how they prepare things as this was our first visit. She made some recommendations and she was spot on. I look forward to returning there later this summer. Now that I know that they remove the shells from the clams and mussels dishes, I will try the cioppino next time.

What a beautiful setting. On a nice day, a patio seat is hard to beat. Note that this restaurant…read moredoes not take reservations at lunch time, and during season can be busy. We dined this past weekend, and the crush of tourists were gone, and had no problem choosing a table of our choice on the patio. Service here is super friendly and efficient. While there are no "lunch" specials, there are a variety of lighter offerings and sandwiches to try. I had a chicken and brie sandwich, served on a baguette. This was quite good, but nothing exceptional. Cocktails can be a work of art and are very good. I think no matter what you try, it all tastes better when served in such a beautiful atmosphere. This was our second visit, and may be our favorite in Rockport.
