Adorable little house turned breakfast cafe. Very tiny with few tables so you might expect to wait if you go during peak summer season. Great service with local down home people - you can tell they genuinely enjoy interacting with the customers. They have several regulars so you know it's good! Interesting little breakfast spot in downtown Rockport. The food was above average, the staff was very friendly, so no complaints there. I personally had a spinach egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was fine. I felt the bagel was a little lacking. They also don't have glasses of water , so if you order water it comes in a plastic bottle (so wasteful). If you're in town, and there is no wait, I would say stopping by isn't a bad idea, the food was decent enough. If there's a huge wait, I'd check your options in the surround areas. read more

We came here for breakfast several times. The food is very good as is the coffee. The only thing I did not like is there were a sort of ant invasion, including on the table which was kind of icky. It happened only once. When I alerted someone they were very nice and concerned. I liked them in spite of this and hope it was a one time thing. Prices are very reasonable. We had the good fortune to saunter in on their first day reopening. The atmosphere is extremely friendly- reminds me of being home in my own small town. The bacon and sausage were the highlights, for me; excellently cured with a surprising depth of flavor and nuance for what is undoubtedly economically sourced meats. My wife very much enjoyed the eggs benedict, and the toast was, well, it was toast. We went on probably one of the busiest times of the year to Rockport - 4th of July week! This is an adorable little restaurant with very limited seating, nice views of the harbor from the tables in the back and very reasonable, delicious menu items to choose from. It did take a while for our breakfasts to come, but the poor young waitress was by herself and occasionally (it seemed like a younger brother) would bring out plates of food. We didn't mind but some around us did. My western omelette on the fabulous anadama bread was wonderful. My hubs was less impressed with the Harvest Moon - french toast with sausage patty. All these little places fill up quickly, but most people understand this and don't take too leisurely a breakfast so that others can sit down and enjoy theirs! read more

This is a great little spot in the middle of Rockport, MA. I'm from Hawaii, so it was nice to get a small taste of home. The place was really cute and cozy inside. There were two ladies sitting at the bar area enjoying their morning coffee and chatting with the friendliest people. Got to chat with the owners. Very nice people and service was quick! I had enough time to take a gander around and snap some photos. Didn't get a chance to try the shaved ice, but I'm guessing from the other reviews that it was pretty close (or as close to Hawaii as New England can be). The Kalua Pork Sandwich I had was okay. It wasn't truly authentic, but I enjoyed it. They had salads and other types of sandwiches, but that was about as far as the menu went. They have fruit smoothies as well if you're looking for something to cool you down. All in all, it was a nice place to go and grab a bite outside of the main area. Nice people, decent food, and great location. Quick note: dogs aren't allowed inside, but there is a bench outside for two to sit and enjoy their goodies (in the shade too!). read more

Wow, ignore the hateful reviews. After being seated immediately my girl and I realized it was cash only. We inquired about the nearest atm and the waitress gave directions and told us to come back and pay after eating.WAIT , WHAT? Yea, they do that there. The one waitress was straight out the entire time but made us and others feel welcomed. As it turned out a young family of four picked up our check unbeknownst to us. First off they let me use the bathroom while I was there. Finding a bathroom was the most difficult part of my Rockport trip. I found myself getting coffee at cafe's to be allowed to use the bathroom but that is just a circular problem there. Anyway the lady working there was really nice. I had some dragons blood ice thing. Of course i ordered it for the name. It was huge, I wish I had someone there to share it with. the only thing i didn't enjoy about my trip was overhearing two high school girls flirt with the young man working there. (young man? what? does anyone want to rub bengay on meemaw's arthritis?) I guess i'll stick with young man, i don't know how else to describe him. In the girls defense he was a funny kid. anyway i find most heterosexual flirting a particularly awkward thing to overhear and the fact they were in high school didn't help. This is my favorite lunch or dinner place in Rockport. It makes a great date spot, especially for dinner because the back dining room has lovely views of the water. When the sun is setting you can share a meal and enjoy the view. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food here is solid and reasonably priced. I have been here 6 or 7 times and I have never regretted it. The shaved ice is a great alternative to ice cream, also on a warm day the lines tend to be less crazy here. I can write this review not only as a patron of this restaurant, but I was known to make some killer shave ice in my day. ; ) Back in the not-so-glorious days of high school, I worked at Hula Moon for a Summer with my very best friend. There were different owners back then, but the quality of the food has always been really, really good. Take it from someone who's not only eaten it, but prepared it! It's good stuff. I mean, banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup?? *drool* (My apologies if this isn't on the menu anymore...I haven't seen it lately!) I don't think they make shave ice there anymore, if I'm not mistaken, which is a huge bummer since that was one of the most fun things for customers to watch and eat. But the food on the menu is superb. I recently went in and had a tuna wrap, and even that was amazing! The current owners are so so nice and friendly. It's truly a hidden gem in Rockport. I think a lot of folks focus so much on the seafood-themed restaurants that they overlook Hula Moon, and that's a big mistake! You can get your little carton of fried shrimp anywhere. This was one of the only non-seafood places we could find on a recent visit to Rockport. It was a welcome respite because neither myself or the wife were really in the mood for more seafood. I order the Hawaiian chicken sandwich - it was very good, but a bit on the small side. The wife got the french onion soup and half of the 'Pele' sandwich - she reported that the soup was delicious. Certainly worth a stop back, but might order an appetizer along with my meal knowing the portion size. Almost forgot - a scarf was left at the table and by the time it was realized they were closed. My bf got the pulled pork sandwich, which left him a bit hungry. It was served on a hard roll, which would have probably filled me up but definitely not him.
