Pleasant setting for afternoon tea. Nice selections . We had a huge lunch here and it was change from the beach scene . Finger sandwiches and sweet pastries were perfect . Great service , a nice place to relax. We really enjoyed the service.

Amazing dining experience. Has gluten free choices for celiacs. Best home-made scone I ever had. They also make nice sandwiches. The inside is small, but very fancy. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the area and was very friendly. The bathrooms were the cleanest and most extravagant of any privately owned restaurant establishment I have ever been to. Only part that suffers here are the hours. They are opened brunch to lunch time, but they do have takeout and most of their food reheats well. They have a little antique shop in the basement. If you are in the rockport area, stop in and take a look. It will definitely be one for the scrapbook.

My husband and I went on Wednesday because their special is prime rib - and it's his fave. I just wanted go because I love to support a local business that is getting some great reviews! What a cool story of how the oldest tea house in the country became a French bistro! And wow, we are all lucky it did! I told people that I was going to the Wenham Tea House for dinner. They said, where? Where is that? And a tea house for dinner? Yes!! We started with some appetizers - stuffed mushrooms special for me and clam chowder for him. The mushrooms were outstanding, and while chowder was a little thinner than he usually likes, it had so many fresh clams! My husband is a bit of a prime rib snob, and this one did not disappoint! He said it was cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. He will definitely be back. I got the the seared scallops with pea and asparagus risotto - it was amazing! Some chile oil drizzled on the dish gave it just a touch of heat that brought it all together. We did have some wine with dinner, but we were too full for dessert. We opted for an after dinner cocktail instead, and for all you espresso martini fans, this restaurant has the best one around! It's dark and you can smell the coffee. It's served with a side of Bailey's whipped cream and some beans for those that like it on the lighter side. The service from our server Sydney was excellent, and as I watched the other server, proprietor, chef, hostess and bartender through our dinner, they were all amazing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the white table cloths are both classy and classic. And of course, the restaurant overlooks a super cute courtyard with tables for al fresco dining. Our experience was incredible, especially for a guy that doesn't like to travel outside his comfort zone. Thank you for a wonderful night out!

This has got to be one of the best deals on the North Shore, and the burgers vary in toppings and include vegetarian offerings. The restaurant is conveniently located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking available. Inside, there's plenty of seating to choose from and even a more quiet zen area. I loved the decor which seemed very spiritual and perfectly reminiscent of a vegan restaurant. The menu is very expansive and everything on there sounded enticing. Our friendly and attentive server assisted us with the ordering process and even though we arrived prior to lunchtime, they made an exception for us to have the cheese plate. We couldn't decide which cheeses to get on it, so our server said he would put on the most popular for us. We all ordered the sunshine Sammie, which we were told was also a very popular dish there. And of course, I had to get an espresso drink, so I opted for their seasonal special, pumpkin spice latte. The cheese plate came out first and it was such a treat. It contained a variety of rich and creamy cheeses made by the rebel cheese brand and they all had their own unique flavor notes. I also loved that it came with olives and grapes, which added a nice Mediterranean vibe. My pumpkin spice latte also was creamy and decadent and the oat milk was frothed to perfection. The espresso was fresh and the pumpkin flavor was well balanced. The sunshine Sammie truly was like eating sunshine. The roasted tofu and mushroom bacon were savory and hearty and well seasoned while the cheese melted into it nicely. The chili crema sauce really took it to a whole other level with a smooth and creamy texture and just the right amount of spiciness to meld everything together. We took some dessert home to go, some cupcakes and whoopie pies and they were so moist and had flavorful and just the right amount of sweetness. I never would have guessed they were vegan! I cannot wait return to this lovely place on my next trip to the Boston area!

(I live in Quincy and it took us less than 40 minutes.) My breakfast sandwich (Sunshine Sammie) was maybe the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. My boyfriend's tofu scramble was equally amazing. He loved it- and he's not even vegetarian! The coffee was spectacular and don't get me started on the waffle. It was light and crispy and just overall delicious. The service was excellent. Kind, friendly, fast and efficient. The only thing we'd change is that we wish we'd tried it sooner. We'll be back.

"I don't know exactly what this means, but I hope it's something soothing for the soul."…read moreThat was my thought when I saw the somewhat bewilderingly long list of teas at Silver Dove's Afternoon Tea service. We went recently at the request of some visiting out-of-state friends who wanted to experience a traditional afternoon tea for a small friend reunion. Luckily, our nice server offered her favorite selections and explained the tasting notes for each, which made a complex decision much easier. After that, the preset menu simply meant no more decisions--just an array of sweet and savory mini bites curated by the chef. Not wanting to lead fellow Yelpers astray, I struggled a little with how to review the experience as a whole, so here's my breakdown. Staff & ambiance: 5/5. The staff were attentive, friendly, and very accommodating of our dietary restrictions, of which we had a few. Kudos to them for readily offering substitutions with a smile. Tea: 5/5. I chose one of their signature Dove black teas since I'd already enjoyed a delicious chamomile at my favorite neighborhood café earlier that day. The tea was excellent. Ask them about the options. Food: 3.5/5. Everything was definitely good, but it felt like they were missing something in the flavor domain--although our substitutions may have played a role there. That said, they make excellent scones, and the chocolate dessert was delicious (sorry, I don't know the name). So overall: 4/5. I think our whole group really enjoyed themselves, and, as with so many things in life, the companions are what make the experience matter the most. Thanks, Silver Dove, for a memorable afternoon!
