Sarah and Brad have the tea house decorated beautifully. The tea service was delicious, the 3 tiered tray had the sammie of the month:raspberry rose jam with Nutella, the scone flavor of the month was cherry almond chocolate chip and the sweets for the month were a pink velvet bite size cupcake,chocolate cherry mousse cup and as a bonus sweet when you have a tea seating was a strawberry cheesecake truffle. These were in addition to the regular but delicious English cucumber finger sandwiches,chicken salad with apricot jam and white raisins sandwiches and scone. When you see the tray don't let it fool you as the food on it is filling and paired with a pot of one of the many tea flavors or a pink hit chocolate if you're not a tea drinker it is delicious. I just wish that I could replicate the flavor in the sandwiches that Sarah makes fresh every day. I had to travel from Ohio to Massachusetts for a family member but my son took me here for my birthday and it was a relaxing break to have a peaceful tea which you can't get at any other tea house. I looked in Ohio and nothing can compare to Fancy That !! There are times when you just need to have a quiet tea break without having children yelling or running around in a regular restaurant . I've been to many high teas in Boston at fancy hotels at the Boston Public library and I can say that the high tea served at Fancy That is the best I have been to. The ambience is lovely. This place is getting 5 stars. There use to be a place here in NJ just like it, but it has since closed down so I was excited I got to go to a place like this again. The owners are the servers/host/hostesses. They are super friendly, appreciative and knowledgeable. This place is absolutely beautiful inside. It was $34 per person I believe as well, which doesn't include extras such as alcoholic beverages, etc. I'll be honest.. I have no idea what tea my husband and I ordered. All I know is that we both enjoyed it and my husband HATES tea. I dragged him to this place and this turned out to be his favorite place we went so that's saying something! For the menu we were served: We started out with Two Scones which was a gingerbread with lemon glaze with jam and English clotted cream and a cheddar and chive savory scone. The cheddar and chive scone reminded me of Red Lobster's biscuits. I could have had a whole tray of these. Then you get your sandwiches: 1) seedless cucumber with chive, onion and garlic cream cheese and a bit of feta 2) apricot jam & white raisin chicken salad 3) roast beef and boursin spread with fig, pear and honey jam. The cucumber sandwiches are always my favorite. I highly highly dislike chicken salad and roast beef. I ate it because it was part of the pre-set menu. I wound up loving them. They were delicious! Lastly was the mini desserts: 1) shot glass - cranberry chocolate 2) macaron: flavor of the day (which was pistachio) 3) bite sized cupcake: christmas sugar cookie flavor. Again, all delicious but my favorite was the Cranberry Chocolate shot glass. It was like a chocolate brownie base with a Cranberry Mousse on top. Inflation sucks, so the price increased to $34/person (compared to $26 when I originally reviewed 5 years ago). Fancy That is still fantastic and living further away I still am willing to drive out of my way to meet friends for this unforgettable and indulgent experience! I'm so glad they have adapted and survived through the pandemic. Actually they are still super popular so I had some difficulty when trying to look for reservations back in February for March needing to book out into April on a Monday holiday that not everyone has off, after realizing I accidentally originally booked Easter. So expect at 1-2+ month booking period if you are looking for weekend dates. I remember during 2020 for our anniversary, my SO and I picked up to go boxes for the tea and order. I needed to dig up my own tea pots and it was not the same! Also when comparing Fancy That to another High Tea place north of Boston the pricing is about the same since they are ~$30 but they give you the option of purchasing the same size container of clotted cream for extra $3. I love that they have their own small rooms and alcoves. I more often than not in a party of 2-4 end up in the pretty "Pink Room". I love that they are constantly rotating out their tea menu. Most recently I tried the Earl Grey Poolside which was an exclusive. I love a refreshing take on the black tea! "black tea with bergamot, shredded coconut, pineapple bits, safflowers, flavouring, yellow pineapple shaped sprinkles (artificial color)". Other Teas I've tried Paris   black and oolong teas, black currant, vanilla and caramel flavour and bergamot. Downton Abbey® English Rose   hibiscus*, rosehip peels, apples, stevia, rose petals, natural raspberry, natural rose and vanilla flavours. It's always such a treat enjoying their vast array of delicious teas paired with their tasty menu of savory and sweet snacks! This place is probably a little girl's fantasy tea party. I felt like I was a little too old to be here and it's so pink everywhere! Heads up, make sure to plan well in advance and make sure everyone plans on showing up. We had a couple flake out on us and the management was gracious enough to slightly lower the cost, but we still had to pay extra for that reservation. They have a huge selection of teas, so you should definitely come with a group or come for multiple times to try them all. The pastries and sandwiches won't fill you up, but they are definitely high quality. This is definitely the spot in Walpole to be! I took my Mom to a cute place called "Fancy That". This was actually her Mother's Day present from me. I tried to book closer to Mother's Day, but this place books up very quickly, so it was just as well that we went today. It's a Fancy tea room(s) where we enjoyed our own pots of tea. Different flavors for each of us. I love the fact that they use spring water to make it because it makes such a huge difference. They also had bowls of sugar, but they were actual lumps of sugar like you would find in England! I got English Breakfast Tea - Classic and delicious Mom got Unicorn Bliss - It was a green tea that was a strawberry blend. DELICIOUS! We also enjoyed scones, tea (cucumber) sandwiches and sweets. I tried clotted cream and English jam for the first time! Every detail was PERFECT! I felt like I was in England! I even got a Tiara to celebrate my (belated) birthday. I could not stop looking at something that I would describe it as a snow globe because it was so glittery and so beautiful. I've actually included a video of it. I love anything glitter.! No need to say more but that every detail has been accounted for. And to me (as an artist who tends to stray from artificial decor) all my senses did not scream "kitschy" during the entire experience. It seems pink holiday decor meets Americanized version of British tea can indeed be done quite tastefully. 3. Food So Im an "eat with your eyes & stomach" (quality & quality) type of gal. When I heard this was a high tea gathering, I planned to Really eat when I got home because they'd feed us like chickadees. I was pleasantly proven wrong. The sandwiches are mini, along with the carefully planned out pastries. And maybe it was because I normally inhale my food at work. An experience fit for a queen! This place is ADORABLE, the food + tea is DELECTABLE, and best of all, it's AFFORDABLE (especially compared to high tea at the downtown Boston hotels). Overall, a super nice spot for a special occasion or just for fun. Because I was celebrating my birthday, that gave me a tiny crown to wear - cute cute cute! The decorations are completely IG-worthy, and the owners are so friendly. There's even a bell on the table you can ring if you want to call them over! For our teas (of which there are SO many options - be sure to peruse the full menu online before you go), we chose the Wicked White and the Fig & Lavender Black. We really enjoyed the October bites, especially the scones, macarons, and finger sandwiches. I came here on a Saturday morning to celebrate my sister's birthday. The front parking had already filled up some, so we ended up parking in the back. We were greeted at the back entrance by the proprietor's husband, who quickly welcomed us into the establishment. The proprietor met us inside and introduced herself as she led us to our private tea room. Upon first glance, my sister and I were both in awe with all of the cutesy décor. We visited in early January, so they still had Christmas decorations up, which we loved because it added to the charm. Our private tea room was so adorable! We both loved that each group of customers got their own private room or section of the establishment, so you really feel like you're getting your own private tea party. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We were seated in the "Tickled Pink" room, and the small details-like the tea saucers on the window sills- added a nice touch. The presentation of the tea sandwiches, the tea itself, and the fixings was also very much appreciated. They even had sugar cubes, which were individually wrapped in packs of two by this place in Louisiana that my sister and I both researched after we left. We each got to choose our own pot of tea, which was nice, because we have different tastes, and some tea rooms only give you one pot of tea per table. Also worth mentioning is that the tea pots themselves came covered with tea cozies, which definitely added to the charm. I had the Dirty Chai Tea, which I loved so much that I now need to order it in bulk. My sister had the Apple Cinnamon Tea, which she loved. As far as the tea pastries go, the scones were the winners for us. Both the sweet and savory scones were everything! (Not too dry like many scones.) And, they even provided us with our own individual jars of clotted cream and strawberry jam, which we happily devoured. After we were finished with our tea and pastries, we visited the gift shop, which was very-thoughtfully curated. They have many tea-themed items for sale, and they also sell their loose tea by the ounce. Overall, my sister and I had a great experience, and we definitely think that it's worth the price of the prix fixe menu for the novelty alone. Grandma yelpie ventured out because the rain keeps on holding her back from outdoor activities (I'd melt when hit with rain!). And on a besties day mozing around, I took off on a boat to Walpole from Hudson down the 128 canal of bumper to bumpers... My soul ached for the afternoon tea of London and pretty service that made me feel dainty (dainty? BAHAHAHAHA!!! yea, the dainty yelpie-rican in da haouse!). What a lovely and unexpected spot. It comes with a warning, however... the place is Victorian sensory overload, which I thought was not only charming but took me back decades and decades ago (5.9 decades to be exact...) to my aunt's doll house fettish and our little tea parties in the den. Victorian, pink, flowery and so very charming (many would claim estrogen overload, but I must remind everyone that back in Victorian England, it was because of the Lords that the savory treats were added and these powerful men in tights could sword fight and clobber anyone into submission who lived and decorated amidst Victorian abandon... THUS ZERO gender judging is allowed!). A menu of teas will grab you by surprise so do your homework ahead of time - its overwhelmingly robust with options, and one will more than likely tickle your funny bone in the most delicate way. My girl went with a sweet Lady Marshmallow - you could smell the caramel and chocolate from a distance, and I went with a delicate and highly aromatic Pearl Jasmin - I buried my nose in the cup and let my imagination fly with the pink unicorn staring at me from above the door in our bubbly pink room. There is a lot of food for the snack. I'm a pig, so I wiped mine out short of the watermelon macaron I gave my sugar tooth bestie, and the dainty lemon cupcake. The tower of power was crowned with blueberry tea cake and a wonderful tart cherry scone. Followed by the requisite cucumber finger sandwich. My favorite was the flavor of the month - prosciutto and goat cheese and fig (YUM, I wanted the entire loaf of bread worth...) and the chicken salad didn't disappoint. Lastly the petite deserts of which the super mini strawberry shortcake with WHIPPED CREAM (BUYE!) really sung to me. Menu is seasonal and fixed price, and only if you can beg will you MAY entice Susan and "hey you" to maybe adjust for allergies. Very relaxing. Lovely. Pampering. Spoiling. Delicious. Dainty. I came here twice and had a lovely time both times. The first time I came, we were a party of 2, and we were given one of the two tables outside. The second time, we had 3 people, and they gave us one of the two rooms. Regardless, the outside and the room were all very decorated; the room just had a theme (pink). The menus are prix fixe, so we had the same food both times. You do get to choose the flavor for your pot of tea, and they change up the macaron flavor and sandwich fillings sometimes. It was only $30 per person, which I think is very cheap for afternoon tea. The food and desserts were pretty good, and it's a cute experience. They also have a little shop in the back where they sell teas and equipment. We picked up several of their loose leafs, and they smell great! read more

I tried foods I don't typically like or enjoy and loved everything I had. I'm not even a big tea person and usually swamp my tea with sugar and milk but it wasn't necessary for this, though it was provided if wanted. They place is decorated fabulously and really gives a fancy, sophisticated tea house feeling. People were dressed up nicely and it was so authentic, but you don't need to do so if you don't want to. If you want to have a nice tea date with your girlfriends or drag you're baby daddy to explore, this is the place. It was such a fun experience due to the interior designs, how the waiter speaks, and how your dishes were placed in the table. Mind you although the food looks small it fills you up darn well so make sure you don't eat breakfast! (Unless this is your brunch thing). I recommend vanilla caramel and lavender herbal. Vanilla Caramel is basically warm milk tea with the touch of of those two flavor. The lavender herbal was like a punch of fruity tea. With the two course meal you have out of the three, they are sweet the lavender herbal or any tea that's not too sweet can help wash out your overwhelmed sugary tongue. Absolutely wonderful experience at Fancy That. Certainly a must do experience in the greater Boston area. We had to wait 8 weeks to get in, but it was worth the wait! The decor was fantastic, such great attention to detail. Tea paraphernalia everywhere you look! Beautiful china, paintings, and table settings. Upon arrival we are immediately seated by "The Tea Guy", who was very friendly and attentive to our needs throughout our experience. We also met and were served by his lovely wife, Sarah. What a team! We ordered our individual pots of tea, and upon their arrival followed our three tiered meal. Our meal included a white chocolate cranberry scone, chocolate chip banana bread, assorted finger sandwiches (cucumber, chicken salad, bacon scallion), and assorted desserts (chocolate whoopie pie, strawberry shortcake, macarons). The food was - Wow, delicious! And filling! If I had to chose favorites, it would be the cucumber sandwiches and macarons.
