I have come to this place for a while and I've always loved it but this morning I accidentally ordered a hot coffee instead of an iced coffee and I asked if it could be made to be an iced coffee and the older woman was unable to accommodate even though it would've been the exact same price and instead stared at me with a blank stare the whole time. Stopped by on my way to the beach in Manchester. I got an iced Hazy Mocha and a lemon blueberry scone. The drink wasn't too sweet, and the scone was absolutely delicious and massive (kept me full for my whole beach day!). I took my order to-go but the seating area looked cute from what I could see. I would recommend the pastries and coffee to anyone in the area! They also have gluten-free options in a separate display case for those who are interested. This gets 4, rather than 5, stars because the person who took our order was a bit rude. I tried to order a smoked salmon bagel and was told that "sandwiches take 45 minutes." I asked for a bagel with cream cheese instead and was told that if it was toasted it would also take 45 minutes. I felt that the tone of the conversation and the fact that a bagel would take 45 minutes was a bit much. When my partner inquired about allergies, the worker just shoved a menu at him and said "read the menu to see what's in the drink." Obviously we always read the menu, he was asking if there was anything in the drink BEYOND what was listed, as sometimes happens, and needs to be checked for allergies. We came at a busy time so I'll chalk it up to the stress of the morning rush. This is my favorite place to grab a quick coffee or pastry before heading to the beach! This adorable little shop has some delicious food, just make sure to get here early before the crowds. They have some very cute seats indoors to eat at (if there's space available), or it serves as the perfect pit stop on the way to the beach. My favorite is the iced mocha, but it's hard to go wrong here! read more

Generally, this could be a 4 star spot, but the service was unreasonably slow. I stopped in with a friend for a coffee and sandwich and it took a good 30 minutes, which seemed like a very long time for a casual café type place. Wait time aside, the menu had tons of fun options and the food itself tasted great. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Definitely a local neighborhood spot. Maybe I'm just spoiled by faster service in Boston, but if you don't mind waiting around, this could be a solid place. read more

We went before the beach and got smoothies for breakfast and sandwiches to go for lunch. The smoothies were delicious! The sandwich I got (turkey pesto) was just ok in my opinion. My friend liked her sandwich though. The lady who took our order was kind, and there is a public bathroom. The food did take a very long time to come out, but I would definitely go back! read more

The goat cheese and zucchini sandwich is amazing, even though I'm not usually a zucchini person! An overall fine experience grabbing breakfast and coffee here, twice, during our brief stay at Man-by-the-sea. My breakfast burrito order was messed up and had excessive fluids in it so it became a gooey mess. A croissant egg and cheese sandwich came out better, and the our cappuccinos were actually great. Went here for the first time for lunch about a week ago. Wanted to get out of my busy hometown and took a ride up the coast and picked The Gull to grab a bite. What a great idea; fantastic menu, great sandwiches prepared by friendly helpful crew. I took mine across the street to the town harbor, sat on a bench in the shade and enjoyed every bite. If you are looking for fresh ingredients, put together well, in a nice seaside town...this is the place! read more

This is a delightful breakfast/coffee spot in the heart of town. The prices were reasonable, too! I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese on a plain (locally made) bagel and a large iced black tea. The food was delicious and exactly what I'd wanted. Also, every staff member was super friendly and helpful. If I had to guess I would say it's a family-owned business as they clearly care a lot about customer experience. It was also cute to see lots of customers greeted by name - clearly, the locals like this place too! After eating my sandwich I stayed for a couple of hours to work on my computer. They have great free wifi and a nice big bathroom as well. Before leaving I bought a can of kombucha and a cinnamon chip scone to have at the beach - both were EXCELLENT! But this place seems to be very popular by locals... This popularity is taking a toll on long waiting time on items and confused personnel. I was very disappointed waiting for one toasted bagel with plain cream cheese for 20 minutes - no explanation no apology just 6-7 people running around calling customers names without any order. read more

Serves variety of baked goods, breakfast wraps, different coffee drinks, hot and cold, sandwiches for the lunch crowd. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and an orange cranberry scone, both of which were quite delicious. My spouse ordered a breakfast wrap with eggs, beans, avocado, aioli and ham, which he liked. We love laughing gull! Moved to town recently and it has become a staple as the location couldn't be more convenient. All sandwiches have been amazing and the large muffins and pastries are to die for. They also serve atomic coffee which is a great local roaster. Not a ton of indoor seating but a great spot to pick up food and bring to the beach. If you are picking up beach food on the weekend in the summer plan ahead as the wait for sandwiches can be very long! Just goes to show how good the food is read more

Went to the Laughing Gull to get a breakfast sandwich, some muffins and coffee. Everything was way overpriced and nothing tasted right at all, gelatin comes to mind. I would not recommend anything in there. The staff was pleasant and courteous, that's about the only thing good going for it. read more

This was my second time there. First not a great experience so I thought I'd give them another chance. They had at least 10 people working and it took 20+ minutes to get a breakfast burrito. It appeared not to be busy. Got mine to go and when I started eating it the avocado in it was not ripe - slices were hard. Not sure how the egg was cooked - think they were scrambled but there was white around the yellow? Also no cheddar cheese in it. I wanted them to be good but I won't go back. read more

Great breakfast and lunch spot. Breads are fresh. I recommend the breakfast sandwich on croissant. Their BLTs are good for lunch. My daughters like walking down for coffee and hanging out at their outdoor tables. For folks getting off the train for the beach, it's an excellent place to pick up sandwiches. I've been to the Laughing Gull a few times before visiting Singing Beach and after my last visit, I've decided I have to give up on this place. I've tried multiple menu items, looking to find something halfway decent but the bottom line is that the food is not good. Today I got the breakfast burrito. Upon unwrapping it, I could see the burrito was cut in half. The ingredients were so unevenly distributed, it seemed like it had been thrown together in 10 seconds with giant slices of tomatoes. One of my biggest frustrations with this place is the eggs which on the menu are said to be house-made, but clearly come from a package and are completely unseasoned. The restaurant itself is awkwardly configured so guests are confused by where to order and where to wait for their food (and it's always a long wait). My friends and I agreed, we would have enjoyed the Dunkin across the street much more. read more
