I really hate to leave a bad review for a small local business. But this was just inexcusable. Ordered two sandwiches from the menu. The turkey melt and chicken salad wrap. Was charged $10.75 + tax for chicken salad with a few stray cranberries, and a piece of lettuce. no salt, pepper, seasoning or even the walnuts that were stated on the menu. The turkey melt was supposed to come with turkey, swiss, bacon, tomato, and drizzle which I assumed was balsamic or something similar. It was a slice of turkey and cheese. Period. For $11.75 + tax. Same price as the sandwich i ordered, from the menu, which i ordered by the name as it is written, on the menu. Absurd. And waited 20 minutes, as they said that was how long it would take, and walked out of my way for this. Quality of turkey was good. Everything else about this experience was so incredibly disappointing. read more

This place is super cute if you need to grab something convenient or even a gluten free baked good. I am so happily surprised to have not only two but three gluten free baked good options and they are delicious too! With a ton of "regular" stuff for my boyfriend to enjoy. I am a classically trained barista and the lattes were honestly perfect. I couldn't believe the one I had was almond milk because it was frothed so good but she got it right for sure. People are always gonna be unhappy with stuff when they are unhappy, this is honestly a great spot. read more

Quaint yet cool, this one stop convenience store has just about everything anyone would need. Blueberry muffins? Yep. Dog food? Of course. Tampons? You bet. Delicious food? Without fail. I actually hesitate to call it a convenience store because convenience stores generally have the reputation of being somewhat unpleasant/unclean/what-have-you establishments. You want to get what you need and get out as quickly as possible. But not here. Here, you will want to sit and grab a sandwich and chat with the employees or owners and relax. Stopped here on the way to Eastern Point because it was the "last stop" for coffee. I wanted to try a latte but I guess the owner was on the phone and the guy helping was just a regular manning the cash register to help her. So, I had a passable coffee. Had to kind of lead him through the sale. He didn't seem to be much help. But, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that I walked in at a bad time because the shop was so cute. Lots of things I would look at if I had more time. The baked goods were wonderful! I had a beautiful, fresh, huge, strawberry muffin! Loved every bite! My friend got a lemon square and it was equally scrumptious. I'll definitely stop there again and give it another shot. read more

Excellent soups and sandwiches! They do make a lot of what they serve from scratch. Good wholesome food, atmosphere, and people. I had a turkey club sandwich that was very flavorful and healthy. The clam chowder was a little thin( I do like a thicker chowder normally), but the taste was so good that I didn't mind one bit! The owner suggested a walk around rocky neck after lunch which was a very good walk indeed. If you are ever in Gloucester for lunch or breakfast(excellent baked goods as well), definitely stop by. While staying in Gloucester I went to the Last Stop for breakfast. I read about the beach food and wanted to see for myself. I have to say this is a fabulous morning glory muffin! Super moist, full of carrots and raisins that you can see( pictures below) and for under 5 bucks with the huge coffee( also pictures) price is unbeatable! I will have to go back because I had such a hard time deciding between this or one of the fruit muffins or peach/blueberry cobbler or one of the various giant slices of quick breads. I was led to Last Stop Variety under false caffeine pretenses. A co-worker swore that they had the best coffee, and most flavors. Of course, I went the very next morning upon hearing that! The coffee selection can best be described as 'MEH'. I'm sorry, but 4 flavors of Boston Bean coffee is not a great selection. Not when I have Lone Gull and Pleasant St. Tea Company right down the street. I suppose if you're working around Rocky Neck or live there then it's a great option for you. For me, it was out of the way and didn't live up to my expectations. Prices were fine, and they offered a lot of lunch and breakfast items. Service was also fine. And yes, there was quite a crowd in there already. I'd go again, but I don't recommend going all the way there just because you think they may have great coffee. It's honestly nothing special, unless I'm totally missing a secret back room or something. read more

My wife and I were excited about meeting the new owners. We live just a few doors down and had a great relationship with the old owners, Sandy and Jean. I went in last weekend to by my wife an iced coffee and received a cup of ice with some black coffee in it. When I asked how much he said $5.35. That is not a typo. I was in complete disbelief. Again, just an iced coffee. Not a venti, triple, non fat, iced mochiato with extra foam, a medium sized cup with ice and black coffee. Very saddened to say the least and sad to say will not go back in, in fear of what a sandwich might cost. read more

Keeping with the healthy eating theme, my dad and I decided to walk a few miles to try his favorite muffin place this morning. This place seems popular as some of the muffin choices were gone by 8:30. My dad and split a muffin called "Morning Glory" and a cranberry nut muffin. The muffins were fresh and large. The cranberries in the muffin were flavorful. The "Morning Glory" muffin was similar to a carrot cake but in muffin form. The carrot muffin consisted of a ring of almost cheesecake consistency, truly delicious. I've convinced myself that the vegetable muffin counts as one vegetable serving on my diet plan so not only was I eating a great muffin but I was was probably losing weight by doing so. I've been also trying to eat more fruit so I got a blueberry muffin to go that I'm planning on grilling later today. read more

skip it stop in town before this 'last stop'. this is a mishmash of a place where one has to ask 20 questions to get a sandwich, from the owner. went on a sunday and the door was unlocked, lights were on, neon coffee sign on, and soups of the day listed. we were told that they aren't really open on sundays. after we went through the ordeal of ordering a sandwich we watched a huge fly flitting about in the bakery case. the sandwich was served on squishy 'air bread' that was supposed to be whole wheat. read more

The last stop has horrible hours...they do have great muffins and cinnamon buns but they only have it on certain days so you will never know when they will have it. That goes with most of the thing they sell actually. read more

i was going next door for a show at the gloucester stage and we had an extra hour before the show. we would not have gone in had i not had that extra time. after eating there, however, i will now make it my point to allow time for the wonderful food there! we had BBQ beef (soft & succulent and so excellently seasoned), lemon paparadell (i think i misspelled that), again so interestingly seasoned and nicely done if not al dente pretty close to it, and oven roasted potatoes--many different kinds (red bliss, sweet, and one other kind, which name i can't recall)... fantastic taste and a price ($7.95 for the plate) that could not be beat. good sized portions as well. i'm sorry that i wasn't there for two meals (lunch/dinner) so that i could have tasted even more of the menu. gene and karen were wonderful hosts that evening, and i even had the special pleasure to have them stay open for us, even though it was the end of their day. i can't recommend this more highly and will definitely come again each time i go to the gloucester stage show next door. they KNOW food ! read more
