Adorable little place with great soups, salads, sandwiches and delightful fresh baked treats- even homemade pup cups! The server was attentive, precise and very sweet. There were many gluten free options and nut free for those dealing with allergies ! I have heard the ice cream is wonderful, but I never got to that as a delightful gluten free oatmeal cookie forced me into a different direction, and it was worth it! Lily's Soups and Scoops was a stop for the 6th Annual Search for the Best Scoop Shop RI with RI Food Fights. This is a store that sells soups and ice cream. It is located next to a salon and a Chinese restaurant. There are parking spaces available up front. I had their Birthday Cake ice cream which is birthday cake batter ice cream with cake pieces and sprinkles. The color of the ice cream definitely caught my eye and it was very yummy. There are two tables and two benches outside for you to enjoy the ice cream. I want to come back and try their Yawgoo Valley Smores ice cream, which is a graham cracker cookie ice cream base, with ribbons of marshmallow and chocolate and their soups. Lily's soups & scoops makes great soup. Their Portuguese kale soup is legit. Being Portuguese I know kale soup. Theirs had large bright pieces of kale that were not over cooked. I believe they used both linguiça a chourico. The flavor of smoked sausage is a must. The potato's were firm. It was not to salty either. The soup was delicious! read more

I came in here for a coffee, and waited forever. The girl behind the counter was giving tons of attention to a couple who was sampling things and ordering a bunch of food. I stayed patient and waited. She was doing everything from ordering to preparing the food. A line was forming behind me, and I was starting to think I should leave. She finally takes my order, and is super sweet and friendly. So, ok, I stay patient. She gives me a sample of the tomato soup, which was amazing. I decided on just the coffee and a protein ball. I finally have my stuff, go to the car, and it's the wrong coffee. Frustrated, I go back in, still being patient. She greets me and is so so sweet about the mistake and offers me a killer lemon meringue square. Long story short? There were plenty of reasons for me to be annoyed and give a low rating. I wanted to like this place so much. I had a surgical procedure today and thought I'd treat myself to a bowl of soup. I ordered the chicken and rice soup, which came with two slices of bread, and I ordered a chocolate chip cookie. First of all the price was $20 which I think we can. All agree is too much money for basically a bowl of flavored water. I will start with the soup: it desperately needed salt! It was that bland and I could not locate anything but a couple of tidbits of chicken. Honestly, there wasn't even that much rice in it. It is clear that Lily does not taste her soup before she serves it to the public. I took a bite of the bread and quickly realized that was where all of the salt was! It was inedible - Again, Lily needs to taste her products before serving them. Lastly, the chocolate chip cookie. I don't know where she gets them, but it too was so dry. It could not be eaten without a water chaser. I even zapped it in the microwave, hoping to soften it up, but it did not work. I'm so sad to post this extremely negative review, but there was not one thing I would recommend. Lily, please taste your products. I know you've been at that location for a couple of years so maybe your other soups are super great but what I had today was dismal on all counts. read more

I visited Lily's as part of the RI food fights, July coffee challenge. This may be the reason for three stars as opposed to four. It is small and adorable inside with bright colors and friendly staff. we ordered 2 iced coffees and 1 vanilla milkshake. Coffees were ok, but not a wide selection of flavors etc. The milkshake was delicious. There were a variety of fresh soup offerings and ice cream flavors, which we did not get to try on this visit and may have resulted in a higher rating, since this may be the focus of the cute little shop. read more

This is my first visit here, and Lily and staff were very friendly and helpful. Such a cute place with such great offerings - no wonder my co-workers have been raving about it. I am so sad to give this place only 3 stars because when I heard about a place specializing in soup I was so pumped!! We don't have many of those here and everything sounded so good on the menu. I did not go there, just ordered delivery and it was just... disappointing. My husband ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo and the tomato soup was good but grilled cheese... just ok. At $14, this was a pretty good value as the grilled cheese is big. I ordered just the cup of Italian wedding for $9 and it is tinyyyyy... I'd be surprised if it actually is one cup. The taste was fine, nothing spectacular and had just one little meatball in it. It does come with homemade bread which was honestly my favorite part because it did taste fresh and delicious, but the bread was kind of shredded? Big holes in the middle (but I still ate it lol). Overall I'd probably try actually going in there if I were going to try it again, but I'm not in any hurry :( read more

Love this neighborhood treasure! The soups are amazing, especially the Portuguese soup and all the squash varieties. Love the homemade bread and other treats in the grilled cheese is fantastic on that bread. My son loves the ice cream. Haven't had a chance to try the coffee yet. I have been many times to this shop and loved how I was treated mostly by a girl named Sarah I believe. She was very kind and would pay close attention to my needs. Unfortunately I have returned and have not seen her and made me really sad because she was the only one who knew how to make my coffee. unfortunately the staff is rude, cold soup was served, and the manager is not polite. One bad experience I had was an employee telling me there were rats and how I should not eat from the establishment anymore ( I believe her name was Sam).
