While it's not the most convenient spot - there's one table but it's not for customer use - the Cambodian cuisine is legit. The spicy chicken was great (sorry I don't know any of the official names) but it's possible my favorite of the three items in the combo was the ribs, with a sweet and subtle flavor. I also got a mostly vegetable dish. They gave me a side of hot sauce which wasn't necessary for the dishes but was delightfully incendiary on its own merits. read more

I picked up bee bong (vermicelli salad with coconut dressing) and some fried spring rolls. The spring rolls were great .. and the noodle salad was balanced .. everything totaled 19 something .. I would go back to try more things. I came here during Khmer new years. It is a little take out place. Limited amount of food (there was not that many choices like the photos here.. maybe because it was new years?) and I think it might change from time to time what they offer. The food is OK. A tiny food stall across the parking lot from Sky Market, I was drawn to this place by the number of folks entering and walking out with take-out containers and large drinks. And, oh what good-food aromas wafted out! I can't name all the foods they were preparing, but there was a large selection and it all looked good: from fresh SEA salads and spring rolls, to hot and cold noodle dishes and a fabulous pork/beef/hard-boiled egg stew that was great over rice. My family and I were on an Easter Coast road trip 2 days ago and we decided to stop by this place after I saw it on JL Jupiter YouTube video. We were not disappointed. There were many selections to choose from. We wanted to get many dishes but know we can only eat so much. In the end, we got sweet and sour soup (somlor machu Yuen), stir fry chicken curry with bamboo (char tro peng), and stir fry beef with Chinese broccoli. They were all delicious. For dessert, we got sesame balls (nom krote). They were the best we ever had. The owner were super nice. After he heard we were from California, he gave us free Chinese donuts (cha quay) after it just came out of the frying pan, and free drink. We highly recommend this place if you want delicious authentic Cambodian food. read more

I live nearby and decided to brave chaotic Cranston street and walk there. Location is not for the faint of heart (they have a parking lot) but once you get there, you're welcomed by an oasis of calm and yum. When you walk in you're greeted by a small, but clean and well stocked restaurant. There are plenty of items premade, or you can get items like soup, rice and noodles from the hot section. We got a green mango and string bean salad that was absolutely delicious. It's got super hot red chilis, but you can pick around them and enjoy the super fresh and refreshing salad. It's a little like Papaya salad, but better in my opinion. We got what must've been the Cambodian version of pad Thai. Well cooked and a good foil for our more savory fare We also got a couple of small soups. The green one which is sour and savory, containing bitter eggplant (not too bitter), celery and beef. This was our favorite soup albeit a little salty . The other soup must be influenced by Chinese cuisine. It's like a soy-based braised meat soup that has bamboo and lotus root, as well as an egg. The meat was nice and tender, but the flavor was way too sweet and the egg was so overcooked like rubber. Four things came out to just $22 with tax. All in all we enjoyed the ones we liked and will definitely be back for more quick Cambodian cuisine. read more

This place is fairly new, right in the heart of where I grew up. Cranston street, it's right by the 711 that's next to the highway- that side of Cranston street. They're very friendly here and the food is sooo soo delicious. What I love is that is cooked right there, very authentic and not Americanized. I've never been to a "fast food" Cambodian restaurant before, it's buffet style where the worker packs the food after you choose! There's always a soup of some sort, they have Bahn mi sandwiches which are great! Another thing I love is the white rice, it's soft and fluffy jasmine rice. I'm super picky about my white rice but they make it perfect. Very happy with this place and I love visiting when I'm nearby. read more

I discovered this spot last fall. It's a pretty small space, so eat in is limited. They have a selection of prepared hot foods, and other items like banh mi (regular & bbq beef), papaya salad, etc, that can be ordered in person, or a call. I've only had the banh mi's and sugar cane drink, which keeps me coming back, because both are very delicious. In my personal opinion, the banh mi's here are the best in the city; they load up their fresh, gooey crusty breads with the ingredients and in addition to the butter, have their own original scallion butter red sauce. Not too sure what it's in it, but it's def. yummy. And the regular is what you'd normally eat, while the bbq has a different take- still very good. On to the downside; the ordering and order time can use some help. Since it's a small mom & pop shop, and not solely a banh mi shop, my order can take up to 30 minutes, so I ALWAYS call in my order, and sometimes I have to call a few times to place an order- like today. It's a good spot to check out. It is not located in the best part of the city- Cranston St is the worst- but you have off street parking when available and Sky Market next door to do some grocery shopping for Asian food items. read more

Explore this little hole-in-the-wall and you won't regret it. It's very no-frills, but the owner told me she opened only three months ago. And they obviously made sure to get the important stuff right! Food is set up lunch-counter style so you can get a good look at the delicious slow-cooked meats, loaded soups, and other hot and cold dishes. For around $12 I fed myself and 2 picky kids. We got 2 drinks, an order of rice, one huge pork chop and one huge chicken thigh, sliced for us just before serving, and dished up in a savory-sweet sauce that we were all licking from our fingers. Despite eating waaay too much, we still had food left over. Our $12 order would have been enough lunch for 2 adults. Oh, AND they have a parking lot AND accept card payments. And they share that parking lot with a fantastic, equally friendly Asian grocery store, New Sky Market. The space is mainly set up for customers who drop in to order take-out. But there are a couple of tables, and if you're eating in, they'll set out actual plates and silverware. The owner and other workers are very nice and down-to-earth. If the food hadn't already won over my kids, the friendly conversation from the staff would have. Or the free warm spring roll the owner slipped them on our way out! Don't ever order takeout from here , because they don't know how to take orders . They say it's gonna be a little long for your order to be ready . But when u wait 30+ minutes to go pick it up . This place is cambodian food but has some chinese pork buns and egg drop soup. Vietnam soup and cambodian mainly foods sour celery with beef is yummy. It setup like a buffet but with no menu. But it does have many good home cooked meals reasonable prices. I'll be coming here once a week or 2 since it is a restaurant in walking distance to Cranston street neighbors. They have things you can't find elsewhere including delicious bahn mi sandwiches w barbecue beef on crusty french baguette with generous portion of fresh cilantro. They're the only place in the state where you can buy fresh squeezed sugar cane juice on ice. Its a sweet refreshing traditional drink. I would have given 5 stars but with my Vietnamese sandwich my bread was burnt, too crumbly and the sauce wasn't evenly spreaded and it made one side of my bread so soggy it was falling apart. Plus, the sauce was a little too sweet and I was expecting it to be like the actual banh mi sauce. read more
