I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE GREEN BASIL!!! Everything from the service, the staff, the quality of food, and just overall the home/family feeling. We come here quite frequently, for date night, family dinners and celebrations. I think I tried pretty much everything under the sun. My TOP favorites are: the chicken wings with cucumber salad, and sticky rice. (Staple Lao meal!) the Chicken Noodle Soup (Kow piek sen) The Lad Narr and lastly, the Khao Soi! If you are a first timer I would recommend the Lad Narr it's similar to Pad se Ew but not as sweet and has a little more sauce to it. The chicken noodle soup is also a lao staple and at Green Basil- they make it THE BEST! The noodles are hand pressed/knead and sliced. It is so comforting like a hug in a bowl. read more

I got takeout here tonight and while it's not the same as ordering a ton of dishes and enjoying them in house, it was sooooo good! Ordering via phone was way, the stuff was made quickly and it was delicious as always. The staff here is always super warm and friendly, and it was pretty inside per usual. I went to Green Basil for lunch the other day. I like how they have lunch portions of their dishes. I ordered the Pad See Ew, and my friend ordered the Basil Fried Rice. The fried rice was spicy, but good! The pad see ew was also delicious. The dishes came out quickly. It honestly felt like I was eating at home or back when I visited Laos. Comfort food. I would definitely get take out there! read more

Green Basil Thai is consistently excellentGreen Basil Thai is one of those places that gets it right every single time. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the dishes actually taste like real Thai -- balanced, aromatic, and never watered down. The staff is friendly, the service moves quickly, and the whole place has that clean, relaxed vibe that makes it easy to become a regular. Whether it's curry, noodles, or their appetizers, everything comes out hot, well‑seasoned, and exactly how you ordered it.If you're looking for reliable, high‑quality Thai food in northern Rhode Island, Green Basil is absolutely worth the stop. read more

A fellow Yelp Elite highly recommended Green Basil to me for really good Thai food. Therefore, on Sunday, I ordered takeout from Green Basil through DoorDash. I ordered fried Chive Pancake, Beef Pad Thai (normal), Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice, and Thai Iced Tea. The fried chive pancake served with ginger sauce had good taste. The dough was crispy and it was chewy inside. I've had chive pancakes before, but they were triangle shaped. I kinda prefer the triangle shaped ones. The Beef Pad Thai had rice noodles, egg, scallions, bean sprouts and ground peanuts. This was packed with good flavors and the best Pad Thai I had in RI so far. The Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice surprised me with the green sticky rice. I've only had white sticky rice, but the pandan in the sticky rice was really good and it was served with coconut milk. The mango was fresh and I liked the sesame seeds on top. Lastly, Thai Iced Tea is a staple for any Thai meal and it wasn't overly sweet. I'm so glad Green Basil was recommended to me and I can't wait to try it in person. read more

Dined in and haven't been here in years. I had wings, eggrolls, kao soy, hot tea, kow pork sen and lad naa. Want to note I am lao so this is my cultural foods Wings and eggrolls were good. Hot and crispy, comes with a sweet sour sauce per usual. Lad naa was a bit sweet for my taste (was hoping the condiment arrangement came with oyster sauce to fix it but it didn't), kow piek was ok but they don't have the traditional shredded chicken, it comes with sliced chicken which wasn't a fan last time I came (this time my friend had gotten pork), the show stealer here was the kao soy which was so flavorful and flavors spot on but could've used more broth in the bowl. The hot tea is a Thai tea brew without the cream and sugar which was interesting read more

Amazing food at an affordable price. Except the wait needs improvement even on low peak hours. Understaffed waiters need more help there. I would give 5 stars but needs waiting improvements read more

Very nice Thai restaurant. Eating in, takeout, delivery, the quality is always good and prices are great! Cocktails in the restaurant are generous as well read more

This was my first time getting takeout from this place. I had to order online because the phone was just busy. The food was done quickly. I got the drunken noodles somewhat spicy and the Thai crispy rolls! Everything was delicious!! My only complaint is that the sauce that comes with the rolls is a very small cup so next time I will need to get 2 or more because it's very tasty! This was my first time having drunken noodles and they were so good enough for 2 servings. I will probably get it again this weekend and hopefully it will be as yummy as it was the first time!! read more

Yum! Got some delicious take out from this spot on my way home from work tonight and everything was fresh and well seasoned. My new go to Thai spot after moving to RI recently read more

Tasty food with affordable prices! The portion sizes were generous and the food was good! There's an option for Thai or Lao style for the papaya salad and it comes with sticky rice. I asked for pork belly on the side with the Khao Piak so it doesn't get soggy in the broth. They were understaffed so the food took a while to come out, but they tried their best. Also the Thai coffee was a little too sweet for my taste! read more

This is our favorite place in the greater Providence area for Thai take out. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Favorites include the soft spring rolls, shrimp shumai, dumplings, Tom Yum soup, the Thai noodle soup, and the red curry. read more

I've actually only had takeout from here so far, once through a delivery app and once picking it up myself. In my experience coming in person and ordering and picking up, the staff members were all very nice! The restaurant seems cozy and I'm sure I would enjoy eating there in the future. I've tried a few items on the menu, including the fried pork dumplings (smallish, doughy but very yummy!), the tom yum soup with chicken (tasty but a little more sweet and less sour than I usually like it), the drunken noodles (very good!), and the khao soi (might not be the best choice for takeout as you have to assemble it yourself with the noodles, curry broth and toppings, but it was delicious nonetheless). My family also tried the pad thai, sizzling himmaparn, lo mein, and garlic chicken, and everyone loved their food. I'm not in this area often, which is why getting delivery or takeout is a good idea for me, but it's surely one of the better Thai restaurants and one I will continue to dine at or from whenever the opportunity presents itself :) read more

I meant what I said when I said I'd be back soon!! Service was great as always. Everything was so good. I literally cannot complain. Every single thing was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Honestly my only complaint would be that the veggies in the seafood curry were a little on the raw side, but it is fine because I liked the bite. I literally cannot express how amazing this place is. My favorite thing is the pork dumplings (steamed). Absolutely drenched in that dipping sauce. Arguably the best dumplings I've ever had. The dipping sauce with the roti is insane. I loved every bite. I want more. I love this place so much!!!! read more

This is one of our go to spot for lunch and dinner. My favorite dish of all time there I the chicken khao soi. It's soooooooooo good! So much flavor! It's a must try if you haven't already. Also, I enjoy the crispy Brussel sprouts and crispy spring rolls for appetizers. It's a nice mom and pop space with friendly staff. They also started remembering our names haha. I haven't tried everything there but I tend to get the same dishes. Might switch it up next time but the drunkin noodles and the pad see ew is also really good! read more

The best dish I've ordered from here is hands-down the chicken drunken noodles. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered it twice in a week when I needed a pick-me-up for a busy week at work. The sauce is glossy and clings onto the noodles perfectly. There is a huge portion of meat (there might have been more chicken than there were noodles) and it is packed with balanced flavor. The menu will say it's "very spicy" but I think it's on the milder side. I've ordered a few other dishes like the pad see ew and pad thai. Decent but not as impressive or flavorful as the drunken noodles. read more

Not worth it for dine-in. The server paid more attention to the DoorDash and takeout orders than customers actually eating in the restaurant. The food was not served at the same time and I had to wait 5 minutes after my husband had been served to be served. We ended up not even taking our food to go (there was a lot left over) because we had to wait over 20 minutes for the bill, all the time watching the server go back and forth to look at the receipts for the takeout orders and not check on us. The restaurant was also too cold to be comfortable. It was not a pleasant experience. Also the lo mein noodle dish had hardly any noodles. read more

My co-worker recommended this spot and woooooow they did not disappoint. We got the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and pad thai and they were both made with so much love. Also their mango sticky rice was delicious (my partner and I were fighting over the portions). If you're looking for a solid lunch/dinner spot, try out Green Basil! read more

The service here was absolutely awful. There was only one server a middle-aged woman and she was shockingly rude and completely overwhelmed. She was trying to handle too many tables at once and clearly had no idea what was going on. I've eaten at countless restaurants, and this was hands down the worst service I've ever experienced. The food was good, but it doesn't make up for how poorly the place is run. I would never come back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

My first time ordering and I will definitely order again. Let's start with the bad, the Crab Rangoons just lacked flavor. The Shrimp Shumai was tasty, the vegetable & tofu pad woonsem was very flavorful. The star of the show was the vegetable & tofu Thai noodle soup! Hands down my favorite, even better that Pho Horns. Slow service slow slow slow! Do not enjoy the food. It's overly greasy fried frozen appetizer. Don't bother with the "pho" if they can even call it that and everything has heavy curry in it. Very dirty and the waitresses are so slow my sister and I left because we weren't served or anything for 30 minutes. It needs better menus and a DEEP clean. read more

Overall good. The pad Thai was ok, kind of dry and lacked any real peanut/sweet flavor. Also, very little egg, scallion and bean spro. The crab rangoon was fantastic tho! Fast service with a smile. read more

First time trying Green Basil, and I'll be back. I Had the chicken pad tai. The noodles were a little thicker than I'm used to but I it had a lot of flavor. I'm kind of a pad tai connisorre, and although I would have like more crushed peanuts, lime and pepper sauce it was very good and they know what they're doing when it comes to tai food. The food at Green Basil is always delicious and it was yesterday when I visited. However, the service was so bad it negatively impacted the food. I arrived and sat down no later than 2:45, with the menus on the table. The first time the server approached us was at 2:53. I asked if lunch was still available and he said no. I asked what time lunch ends. 2? And he said no, 3. So I picked up my phone that said 2:53 on it and mentioned the time. He seemed annoyed and said ok. I mentioned that we had been sitting for a few minutes and he said but you didn't order. I replied we didn't order because he didn't come to take our order. He said he wasn't going to argue with us. He took our order, brought our food and we didn't see him again until I had to go to the counter to get to go containers. I asked himif he was the owner because if it had been the owner, I would not go back. read more

Best takeout in the area. We've never sat down to eat but it's our go-to takeout spot. We get almost the same thing every time and it's always a hit. We joke about how consistent they are with the food- never disappoints...it's impressive. Try the sticky wings and crab rangoons. Service is quick every time we call. read more

The sampler plate was really excellent! Loved the spring rolls, the chicken. The Crab Rangoon's were so good I'm definitely going back for more of those! Tried for the first time tonight as take-out. Got the drunken noodles and ordered it a little extra spicy. Absolutely delicious!! Spice level was perfect, not a weak level of spicy as with other Asian restaurants catering to a Western/northeastern palate, actually spicy!! Nice balance of veggies throughout noodles, not too much or too little of any one component. Hostess was very nice and pleasant. Crab Rangoon was a decent size order (7 pieces) for $6 although they were kinda small and mostly cream cheese, barely any "crab." Overall, great experience. Pretty good thai restaurant! Did not know what to expect because a relative chose this place to meet but I was surprised when I walked in, at the neat decor and updated dining space. I was expecting a very basic place but that wasn't the case. There weren't that many diners on this cold sunday evening but takeout calls were constant. Anyways, we quickly ordered since we knew what we wanted beforehand, barely even looking at the menu. Duck Noodle Soup and Fiery Pad Thai. They came out great! Nice color and textures, a generous portion, both flavorful and fulfilling and presented nicely. Service was quick and accommodating. Had a long drive home and didn't get a stomach ache at all afterwards which is a good sign, food is fresh! Very affordable and tasty. Glad I came here! read more

Always have a great experience when I come here. Mostly do take out but the few times I've been here to dine in, does not disappoint.

I can't believe how upset I was left after calling three times to make sure my order was right. I am a single parent I work hard and I was so hungry, I ordered a nimchow with shrimp and extra sauce. When I got my order it was completely wrong so I called then to fix this problem and the MANAGER was beyond rude. When I had spoken to him about the situation he kept repeating my name and saying he does not understand, then made me repeat the problem over 5 times. Please be careful they clearly have bad service and will not communicate or cooperate with you. read more
