We come here quite frequently, for date night, family dinners and celebrations. I think I tried pretty much everything under the sun. My TOP favorites are: the chicken wings with cucumber salad, and sticky rice. (Staple Lao meal!) the Chicken Noodle Soup (Kow piek sen) The Lad Narr and lastly, the Khao Soi! If you are a first timer I would recommend the Lad Narr it's similar to Pad se Ew but not as sweet and has a little more sauce to it. I got takeout here tonight and while it's not the same as ordering a ton of dishes and enjoying them in house, it was sooooo good! Ordering via phone was way, the stuff was made quickly and it was delicious as always. The staff here is always super warm and friendly, and it was pretty inside per usual. The fried rice was spicy, but good! The pad see ew was also delicious. The dishes came out quickly. It honestly felt like I was eating at home or back when I visited Laos. Comfort food. A fellow Yelp Elite highly recommended Green Basil to me for really good Thai food. Therefore, on Sunday, I ordered takeout from Green Basil through DoorDash. I ordered fried Chive Pancake, Beef Pad Thai (normal), Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice, and Thai Iced Tea. The fried chive pancake served with ginger sauce had good taste. The dough was crispy and it was chewy inside. I've had chive pancakes before, but they were triangle shaped. I kinda prefer the triangle shaped ones. The Beef Pad Thai had rice noodles, egg, scallions, bean sprouts and ground peanuts. This was packed with good flavors and the best Pad Thai I had in RI so far. The Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice surprised me with the green sticky rice. I've only had white sticky rice, but the pandan in the sticky rice was really good and it was served with coconut milk. The mango was fresh and I liked the sesame seeds on top. Lastly, Thai Iced Tea is a staple for any Thai meal and it wasn't overly sweet. Dined in and haven't been here in years. I had wings, eggrolls, kao soy, hot tea, kow pork sen and lad naa. Want to note I am lao so this is my cultural foods Wings and eggrolls were good. Hot and crispy, comes with a sweet sour sauce per usual. Lad naa was a bit sweet for my taste (was hoping the condiment arrangement came with oyster sauce to fix it but it didn't), kow piek was ok but they don't have the traditional shredded chicken, it comes with sliced chicken which wasn't a fan last time I came (this time my friend had gotten pork), the show stealer here was the kao soy which was so flavorful and flavors spot on but could've used more broth in the bowl. This was my first time getting takeout from this place. I had to order online because the phone was just busy. The food was done quickly. I got the drunken noodles somewhat spicy and the Thai crispy rolls! Everything was delicious!! My only complaint is that the sauce that comes with the rolls is a very small cup so next time I will need to get 2 or more because it's very tasty! This was my first time having drunken noodles and they were so good enough for 2 servings. I've actually only had takeout from here so far, once through a delivery app and once picking it up myself. In my experience coming in person and ordering and picking up, the staff members were all very nice! The restaurant seems cozy and I'm sure I would enjoy eating there in the future. I've tried a few items on the menu, including the fried pork dumplings (smallish, doughy but very yummy!), the tom yum soup with chicken (tasty but a little more sweet and less sour than I usually like it), the drunken noodles (very good!), and the khao soi (might not be the best choice for takeout as you have to assemble it yourself with the noodles, curry broth and toppings, but it was delicious nonetheless). My family also tried the pad thai, sizzling himmaparn, lo mein, and garlic chicken, and everyone loved their food. I'm not in this area often, which is why getting delivery or takeout is a good idea for me, but it's surely one of the better Thai restaurants and one I will continue to dine at or from whenever the opportunity presents itself :) read more

This is one of our go to spot for lunch and dinner. My favorite dish of all time there I the chicken khao soi. It's soooooooooo good! So much flavor! It's a must try if you haven't already. Also, I enjoy the crispy Brussel sprouts and crispy spring rolls for appetizers. It's a nice mom and pop space with friendly staff. They also started remembering our names haha. The food was not served at the same time and I had to wait 5 minutes after my husband had been served to be served. We ended up not even taking our food to go (there was a lot left over) because we had to wait over 20 minutes for the bill, all the time watching the server go back and forth to look at the receipts for the takeout orders and not check on us. The best dish I've ordered from here is hands-down the chicken drunken noodles. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered it twice in a week when I needed a pick-me-up for a busy week at work. The sauce is glossy and clings onto the noodles perfectly. There is a huge portion of meat (there might have been more chicken than there were noodles) and it is packed with balanced flavor. Slow service slow slow slow! Do not enjoy the food. It's overly greasy fried frozen appetizer. Don't bother with the "pho" if they can even call it that and everything has heavy curry in it. The food at Green Basil is always delicious and it was yesterday when I visited. However, the service was so bad it negatively impacted the food. I arrived and sat down no later than 2:45, with the menus on the table. The first time the server approached us was at 2:53. I asked if lunch was still available and he said no. I asked what time lunch ends. 2? And he said no, 3. So I picked up my phone that said 2:53 on it and mentioned the time. He seemed annoyed and said ok. The condiment tray with spices was delivered, with Siraccha and Hoisin Sauce, but because they seem to be short condiment trays they kept asking are you finished with the spices. The food and service is spot on. Flavorful and generous portions. I started with the wonton soup; although it's not the Chinese style I love, it was delicious and I would order it again. Next time I will "sneak" in some crispy noodles because they are not offered here. My wife had the Thai fried spring rolls and again, delicious. Big fan of Asian duck dishes and they offer it in several ways. Quail is also on the menu and I will try it on a future visit.
