I have nothing bad to say about this place. We were on a hunt for noodle soup and wanted to try a spot we haven't been to. Their pho with short rib is ginormous!! I'd say three people can split it! The broth is very rich and hearty! I wanted to sample everything since we never been here before and everything was delicious. The clams were tasty with a little kick of spice. Mini wings were cute and yummy. We also ordered their ribs platter as an all bc we're fatties and it reminded me of my parent's ribs. Now that says a lot! I was pretty full from all the apps so I ordered two small soups as my entree bc again, wanted to sample everything. I got shrimp tom yum soup (best I've had so far) and clear soup. I have been driving by Thai Excursion for a few weeks since it is on my way home. I am an Asian Food Connoisseur and Thai is one of my go-to cuisines. BLUF: DELICIOUS!!! What makes me want to say that starts by the welcome from the warmth and kindness from the staff. Tate made me feel at home. He did not make me feel rushed. I work at Amazon and for those of you who have worked for Amazon, rushing is crawling while sprinting is walking. Tate did not rush me at all. So, I felt right at home. I was tired and I was thankful for not being rushed. I ordered my drink and sauted clams. The drink only took less than 4 mins to make. The clams came out quickly. Then my Drunken Noodle dish came out and it was spicy to my liking ... Thai Hot #10. I also asked for additional hot pepper. I recommend Thai Excursion for anyone to try. Good mistake, I meant to order the mini wings and instead got the Thai Sticky Wings which has a sweet chili flavor with lime, and scallions on top. I placed the order over the phone and it was ready for pick up pretty quick. Inside looks like they have a good amount of tables if you wanted to come with a big group of people. read more

The Thai Jasmine hot tea was served nice and hot and was fragrant. The Coconut soup Tom Kha is such a great start to a fabulous meal. It's hot with some veggies and a lime undertone. The best I have ever eaten. The appetizer sampler was just enough for 2. The crab Rangoons were light and airy. The chicken pillows were nice and crispy with a chicken MB in the middle. The Penang curry was great however they forgot to tell me they ran out of eggplant but it was still good. The spice level is not a slap in the face but it creeps up on you as it lingers in your mouth. Overall the food is great and the service is very personal. Compliments to the chef. read more

I'm always on the lookout for a good Thai restaurant, and since I pass by Thai Excursion often, I finally decided to stop in--and I'm glad I did! I was warmly greeted by the bartender, who also served as my waitress due to a staff call-out. She was attentive, friendly, and even shared that she had just become a Nonna--congratulations to her! Since I hadn't eaten all day and it was already past 6 PM, I was definitely hungry. I started with the Tom Kha soup with tofu, a Fresh Rolls with tofu, and Thai cucumber salad, followed by the Drunken Noodles with shrimp as my entrée. The Tom Kha soup had great flavor--nice and tangy with a good level of heat. However, I found it a bit odd that there were three thick slices of cucumber in it. At first, I thought they were zucchini, but the texture was unmistakably cucumber (or perhaps an unfamiliar Asian veggie?). Either way, they didn't quite work in the soup for me, so I picked them out. The Thai cucumber salad was refreshing--a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The Fresh roll was crisp, loaded with mint (which I love), and felt really healthy. As for the Drunken Noodles with shrimp, the flavor was spot on--savory, slightly spicy, and deeply satisfying. My only gripe was that the green beans were a bit overcooked and had become mushy. Despite that small flaw, the food was enjoyable overall, and the service made the experience even better. It's also super convenient, being so close to home. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

Ordered takeout. Food was hot but it lacked flavor! I ordered the drunken noodles and they put green beans in it! I have never had it with green beans it looked like a mess, the noodles were all stick together as well. I also ordered the sticky rice with mango, the sticky rice was gray not sure why they do that. It did taste the same as other ones I've had. The whole experience was not good at all. I sat at the bar ordered takeout I ordered beef with Thai basil and jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce with Bangkok rolls and shumIa. After I ordered everyone around me ordered and of course they all got their food and I sat there for just about an hour. When I got home we ate and it wasn't good at all beef with Thai basil was swimming in a watery sauce had no flavor. The shrimp dish was super salty and also very watery . The Bangkok rolls were ok and the shumai I ordered fried with cold and soggy . Completely horrible experience from waiting for an hour for a couple of dishes to the food swimming in watery sauces. read more

We stopped in from out of town to try the Thai food and cocktails. Our first round of cocktails was lovely, particularly the ginger martini. The shrimp appetizer was light and crispy, not greasy. We found the option to order a sample plate from different areas of Thailand quite charming and we both chose two different ones which came with a variety of soups, sides and main entrees. I gotta say I was impressed with how good everything we had was It was a Tuesday evening, not a lot of people here at 1st. The bartender and waitress were handling the bar and tables very nicely. We started out with some very tasty appetizers. The fried dumplings and the chili wings were excellent. After looking over the menu, I discovered the braised short rib soup. Let me say that I have tried some of Rhode Island's best Asian restaurants, and this was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Their spicy Thai basil chicken fried rice is absolutely delicious. You can choose the spice level according to your taste and preference. There's so much flavor in that dish. It's absolutely amazing! The only downside is that if you don't pay for extra chicken, you get barely any chicken in the dish. The restaurant is also somewhat inconsistent. Some days it's really good, other days things have a different taste. So I don't know if they change chefs or what but it's worth mentioning. read more

Made by adding a paste to hot water. Problem is, if you don't add enough --you get ...dish water.This should have been noticed. Drunken Noodle--above average. So when I travel for work I get to expense this sort of thing SO I always choose Thai food. Lol by far this places papaya salad is the best, not too spicy, great taste and perfect amount of it! Ate here for dinner two times within the span of three days. Tate was an amazing server and we were lucky enough to get him twice. He gave great recommendations and was very knowledgeable of the history/origins of the dishes we ordered - Tate was incredibly generous and friendly. Great access for a restaurant as it is right off the highway. I love the chicken Thai basil here as it tastes just like it should from any good Thai restaurant. I also ordered the fresh rolls, but they were bland and the sauce which is usually my favorite part was not. It was missing a sweet component than I have gotten on this sauce at other Thai restaurants. When I order from here again I'll try the fried vegan rolls next as I'm sure they are good. read more

Toni the hostess was caring and accommodating. Very calm repast on. Saturday evening. I had a delicious curry ( im getting addicted to them) . My date had the floating market. It was VERY delicious!! The sauce was so yummy. We even have leftovers for our Sunday omelette tomorrow. We also had the calamari appetizer served with a sauce that I could drink straight! Excellent place! Went to this area to visit a customer for work and at the same time was lunch hour so I helped a place and this one came out so I went ahead to see how it is and tbh I went inside and looked like an old restaurant, the bathroom was roasted. When I comes to food I ordered the pad Thai chicken, it literally took 5 minutes to have it already in my table that's a big plus. It tasted it really good and the price was very cheap less than $10. Ordered 3 takeout dishes - all of which lacked vegetables and meat. In fact, in one dish, we counted exactly five bite size pieces of meat, 1 bell pepper slice, and 3 onion slices. That seems incredibly low on the proportion scale to us, especially compared to the many other Thai places we've tried. Not to mention, two of the dishes tasted smokey - but not in a good way - like "burnt" smokey. My guess is their grill is on too high and their cooking oil is too cheap for the burn point. Such a shame this place has gone down hill since we were last here a year and a half ago. The three stars are simply because the staff have always been friendly and attentive. read more
