First off- this was meant to be a quick, take out order- I thought I was going to get some coffee and a treat. But- then I walked in, and all the smells got to me! It is cute, and smells heavenly. They had a specials board with Pumpkin waffles- and I believe Pumpkin pancakes maybe? I don't know- but I need to go back and try them! I ended up looking at the other specials- and of course, being Gloucester, had lots of Lobster specials. Such as- Lobster Benedict and a Lobster and Avocado Omelette. I opted for the Benedict. It was definitely an excellent choice! It is served on a grilled English muffin, topped with poached eggs- in my case soft poached as requested (perfectly cooked), hollandaise sauce of course, and so much lobster I shared with 2 people. Not just claws as you would expect- tails! It was so good!! It also comes with home fries, but who can eat all that? Oh wait- there were 3 of us. Thank you for the excellent service and OUTSTANDING food!! Can't wait to come back!! Please note- I had already taken a huge chunk of lobster out of this half of my Benedict in the picture! read more

We picked up two sandwiches to go on a Saturday afternoon. I had the chicken sandwich with avocado and cheddar on sourdough. I had them remove the bacon. My sandwich was tasty and huge. I think it had a full chicken breast on it. It came with a side of fried sliced potatoes. Though delish, the meal had a ton of salt in it. We also got the peanut butter cookie with Reese's pieces on top. The cookie was really good. We took our sandwiches to go and walked down the hill to eat by the water. I had wanted a cup of tea, but they didn't have any typical flavor such as herbal mint or chamomile. read more

Most likely the freshest lobster I've ever had. Cute restaurant, very welcoming and service. Gloucester restaurants gets fresh lobsters (according to some locals) from the local fishermen which explains why it was the best I've ever had. Would absolutely return next time we are in Massachusetts! read more

Mediocre pizza. We were looking for some gluten free pizza while on vacation and saw that this place: had it and had good reviews. We got it delivered and that process was fine. We got a pepperoni kids pizza that was good enough, the kids liked it. My spouse said his gf pizza with hamburger on it was "fine" and I would say my regular glutenous pizza with Alfredo, broccoli, and mushrooms was fine at best. The crust was barely edible. Lovely place and the staff is super nice! We come here all the time when visiting my in laws in Magnolia. The food is always great no matter if you eat in or take out. Fair prices, good food! read more

This was interesting. I'm not sure I would order again. I ordered the turkey club sandwich as delivery takeout. Even though the turkey was real roasted turkey vs sliced turkey, the sandwich was so large, bulky and thick that I basically couldn't eat it as a full club sandwich. I understand the loaded sandwich thing but I felt this was another level to the point of it being an inconvenience and diverting from the things that make a classic turkey club great. It's a shame because the turkey is good if eaten alone but it felt like too much in this sandwich. read more

We were looking for spot to grab a bite before we headed out and of town, after a really rough weekend due to a harassing vrbo owner, that would allowed dogs on the restaurant's patio. Found this place right down the street. The food was great, lobster roll, fries, Lobster Benny and French Toast were delicious! The service was awesome! Everyone was so kind, you have no idea how much that was needed in that moment. Thank you, so much! read more

Fabulous coffee and food. Food made with flavor and love, it isn't just warmed ingredients like so many breakfast places. Friendly folks. Go at your earliest convenience. read more

A little disappointed after today's visit. Quality of the food has gone down and hope this was a fluke. Ordered a chicken finger dinner with friendchips. The chicken came out clumped together and in a pool of fryer oil. A lot of the breading came off while trying to separate the tenders and a good amount of it was soggy from sitting on a bed of oil. I really hate to say anything else negative, but they also needed to change their fryer oil. You could smell it walking in but I had hoped they were in the middle of replacing it since it was a slow point in the afternoon. I ended up throwing my leftovers away due to the smell. I hope they can tighten things up here because they have a great menu and there are very few options in the area. Service was just as fast and friendly as last time! read more

This is what good customer service looks like. My husband went to get me breakfast and I told him that if they had any whoppie pies to bring me back one for later. They didn't have any made so They Made One for me. How awesome is that. It was delicious as always! read more

bathroom: filthy floor, soap was just fluff, no cleaning ability at all dark and too dirty, bathroom floor has a huge hole in it, how about fixing it? Landlord should do this for free, tripping hazard for anyone wearing heels, anyone handicapped, anyone with a cane, walker or elderly food: VERY greasy pizza juice glasses were too small service: good! ambiance: too close to other table chair too hard, get cushions! menu: too big and chaotic, must be streamlined somehow, very overwhelming, maybe organize it differently? Wanted to love this place, just needs tweaking, maybe by next year it will be sorted out? I have high hopes for this restaurant, now that Dunkin Donuts is gone it will be easy to succeed. You got this! read more

A Hidden Gem in Magnolia! If you're in the Magnolia or Gloucester area, don't miss this new restaurant. The amount of gluten-free options is amazing, the food is delicious, it's truly a standout choice! The warm and friendly owners make you feel right at home, and provide exceptional customer service! I couldn't recommend this place more. It's a must-visit for anyone in the area! We loved the burgers, fries, ice-cream and iced coffee! Can't wait to try more! read more

Grillfriends is one of the best dining places around! Their hamburgers are outstanding! The bun is buttered and grilled. My friend had fried shrimp she said was fantastic. The gang work hard and are proud of their food and restaurant. Very accommodating and highly recommend! read more

This establishment has been a revolving door for some years now. A daycare and then a restaurant and now another restaurant. Well let me tell you, Grillfriends finally has it right! They are open when they say they're going to be. The service is great, they're SO friendly and relaxed. But the food is what keeps us coming back again and again. It's consistently good and quick and SO WELL PRICED. I see this place being around for a long time and I plan on giving them as much business as possible to help that vision. Well done Grillfriends! Best breakfast potatoes I've ever had! read more

This is the neighborhood coffee shop & all-purpose restaurant you want in your neighborhood. I'm particularly fussy about my poached eggs, I want them cooked MEDIUM a knack many cooks never mastered - here they were done perfectly. Prices are moderate by today's standards, quantities are more than ample (i.e. too much) and staff are friendly and helpful. There is outdoor dining. read more

Still going one morning a week after exercise class. For the first time I had something called "Hot Mess" and, boy, is it ever! Two eggs scrambled with chunks of ham, sausage and bacon, served over a bed of hash brown potatoes and topped with hollandaise sauce. And this was the half portion. Add two slices of toast and you've got a hot mess alright. Loved it. read more

Outstanding food and service!! Ordered to go - chicken caprese sandwich, guacamole, salsa and chips, tacquitos. Excellent quality of food!

The homefries were a whopping success during our recent breakfast stop. Normally I don't even order home fries as the commercial ones are totally not even "worth the calories". Well, Grillfriends home-fries are freshly made, pillowy soft in the middle, crunchy salty exterior with the red tater skins still on. Oh my! I did not stop until I cleaned my plate. We think there was only one waitress serving the whole (small) restaurant so service was spotty but once the morning rush thinned out - it was all good. We observed a little blonde girl chomping away at a blueberry muffin that was the size of her head and packed with blueberries. Give it a try! but don't be in a rush. read more
