Came to Manchester for a good time and I got a full belly. Fabulous service from Jack with delivery…read moreto the table outside so I could soak in the ambiance. Sandwich went the extra mile with toasty sourdough and an incredible spread of Aoili that coated the dreamy turkey bacon and avocado. Might come back just to larp here again and destroy another sandwich

The drink wasn't too sweet, and the scone was absolutely delicious and massive (kept me full for my whole beach day!). I took my order to-go but the seating area looked cute from what I could see. I would recommend the pastries and coffee to anyone in the area! They also have gluten-free options in a separate display case for those who are interested. This gets 4, rather than 5, stars because the person who took our order was a bit rude. I tried to order a smoked salmon bagel and was told that "sandwiches take 45 minutes." I asked for a bagel with cream cheese instead and was told that if it was toasted it would also take 45 minutes. I felt that the tone of the conversation and the fact that a bagel would take 45 minutes was a bit much. When my partner inquired about allergies, the worker just shoved a menu at him and said "read the menu to see what's in the drink." Obviously we always read the menu, he was asking if there was anything in the drink BEYOND what was listed, as sometimes happens, and needs to be checked for allergies. We came at a busy time so I'll chalk it up to the stress of the morning rush. Also, after we ordered, the baristas were accommodating of my partner's allergies and noted them all on his cup which is very reassuring.

This was a spur of the moment find on our way to Hammond Castle (also well worth a visit). We were…read morehangry and looking for breakfast-ish options and Source Bakery more than hit the spot. Their menu is centered around the almighty biscuit - biscuits/scones are one of my favorite ways to inhale carbs but they can run on the too bread-y side of the spectrum. These were fantastic: delicate crumb, beautiful golden color, and sturdy enough to hold in all the sandwich fillings. I went with the classic breakfast egg sandwich (scrambled egg, cheese, and arugula) and added sausage. This was one of those rare situations where the bread vehicle outshined the fillings. The egg, while nice and fluffy (and tasted like real egg instead of the diluted mix I've had elsewhere), could have used some more seasoning and was begging for a healthy dollop of ketchup or hot sauce. The only thing that came through strongly was the salt crystals on the top of the biscuit. Tried a bite of my husband's chicken salad on a cheddar/onion biscuit and had the same reaction - the biscuit overpowered everything else. Not that I'm complaining. The bakery is on a side street off the busier, more touristy Rogers Street. I had this idea too late but next time I'm in Gloucester, I'd take a biscuit sandwich to the beach area along Western Ave. The cafe itself is very, very cute, with little nooks and crannies everywhere for seating and even a comfy looking couch. Bathroom was clean. We found a parking lot one street over in the other direction.

We loved everything we tried and want to come back to try other things. We also really love that…read moreyou focus on locally grown fresh ingredients that haven't traveled thousands of miles. What an amazing hidden gem! Driving into the city from Newburyport, my family and I stopped here…read morecraving a quick afternoon pick-me-up and we were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of taste and vibes this place serves up. We were welcomed in and helped super quickly despite being almost closing time, and still got to enjoy some fresh-made, delicious drinks. Their menu offers a variety of traditional options plus a couple fun, unique twists from their flavor syrups to their seasonal specials. (Even if the particular matcha i had wasn't super strong, the caramel banana syrup was INCREDIBLE and made the drink completely worthwhile, so I would highly recommend!) Needless to say, everything we tried was a big hit. Not only would I be more than happy to make the trip to enjoy another of their matcha combos, but I'd come back also for clean, spacious, and calm working atmosphere (luckily there's another location closer to me in Boston too)! I'm so glad I got to knock this cute and fun cafe off my list, and I'm even more excited to come back again!

This place is a whole vibe. Sleek and coastal and somehow also whimsical, Little Wolf is a great space to have your morning recharge. They make their own variety of flavored syrups, ranging from the standard vanilla to a botanical blend called Bouquet. Most importantly, their beans are incredible. The Finca that they served in my drink was a tasty lighter roast, which enticed me to buy a bag (similar roast, not the same). This price is not very clear but it is $28 (out of sight out of mind, I guess). Of course great coffee requires great baristas. Looking forward to coming back!
