I ordered online for pick up. Bill came to $21.40, tax included. About ten minutes later I checked to see what time I ordered so that I'd know when to go and pick it up. I look at the receipt and see that I was charged $2.00 tip and a $3.00 a convenience fee; a convenience fee and tip for a pizza I was picking up. When I went to pick up the pizza I asked (complained) about the extra $5.00, the owner said that was the policy of the Clover the company that I guess runs the site. I argued that regardless, Delaney's has a responsibility to be transparent and mention the extra fees on their website. I won't be ordering online or off line pizza from Delaney's again. If there's one thing this town isn't short of its bars and pizza/sub joints. It's a real shame, the old owner and namesake, Ron Delaney, ran a great shop. RIP Ron. read more

Beautiful pizza. Amazing taste and I had the sausage pizza and it was perfectly loaded with the sausage on top. I've never tried Delaney pizza but had it last night and it was excellent. Sauce is not sweet so make sure you know that. It is a fine made red pizza sauce with amazing and wonderful cheese and for the topping was a beautiful amount of sausage. Absolutely wonderful ! It's been a few minutes since we've had what I can consider the best pizza in Gloucester since we moved to this area 20 years ago. Toppings are always Uber fresh,great crust and just overall consistency in there execution.not that overly sweet sauce the locals seem to like in a lot of there pizza joints either. Not exactly keeping up with any social media trends, it's hard to find a menu or what they might have for specials that evening (open at 4pm) that was too bad because I might have rethought my selections after eyeing the board with some tasty options. Very disappointed. We have been going to Delaney's since Ron opened his pizzeria after leaving Maria's. I was concerned when the new owners took over but I was pleased that they are using Ron's recipes. I ordered two pizzas, both linguica, onion, garlic, and extra cheese last night. The thin crisp crust was excellent, as well as the tomato sauce. However, there was no garlic, and if this was extra cheese, how little could just regular cheese be on their pizzas? Two pizzas for $50 (including tip) is excessive; particularly, when they skimp on the toppings. Ok YUM. How did I not know this place was in Gloucester and was so delicious?!?! My friend and I were waiting to get into the restaurant at the cruise port and decided to throw caution to the wind and order pizza instead because he'd heard this pizza was some of the best in Gloucester. We got a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and one with peppers onions and mushrooms. As we waited the 30-40 Mins for the 'za, we grabbed a six pack of beer from next door. When it was ready we took it all to Stage Fort for our very own picnic so his son could play as we dug in. This pizza is bomb. It's a super thin cracker-y crust, the cheese is salty and melty. The sauce is just right. The crust snaps when you bite into it. YUM. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. There's no place to eat inside the shop (and it kind of looks like a principal's office with linoleum everywhere and a few waiting chairs inside-though they did have a great playlist going!), but it is well worth the wait. Highly recommended! (But beware of the seagulls at stage fort if you stage a picnic like we did--they are AGGRESSIVE) read more

Good pizza with nice flavor but the crust kills it. It's too thin and dry. If it was thicker and doughier it be much better.

Pizza is excellent if you're in the mood for a nice crispy thin crust. The meats are yummy and they don't skimp, and the vegetables are fresh. I didnt give 5 stars for two reasons. If you have a big appetite, they're thin and smaller then your average large and I can eat one by myself no problem. So if you wanna feed a family, good luck. That and the fact that they're just as expensive as a large anywhere else so if you and your spouse are hungry, better get two. If you have a family, better bring your credit card. I just cant understand why they don't either make the pizza much bigger, or at least come down on the price! read more

Sauce is better than most in gloucester(not really saying much as most pizza here is terrible). The crust is similar to a wet saltine. Shoulda known better than to go to an Irish themed pizza place but we have been searching for good pizza since moving to Gloucester. Also way overpriced, I didn't think a large at 12 bucks would only be 8 inches. About the same quality as dominos ugggh. This town needs to get their shit together on the pizza front. Very good pizza, but they should be better at estimating how long it will take for your take-out order to be ready. To be told 20 minutes...get there after 25 minutes, and still wait 20 is rude. For that reason, I would maybe not go back. read more
