I ordered online for pick up. Bill came to $21.40, tax included. About ten minutes later I checked to see what time I ordered so that I'd know when to go and pick it up. I look at the receipt and see that I was charged $2.00 tip and a $3.00 a convenience fee; a convenience fee and tip for a pizza I was picking up. When I went to pick up the pizza I asked (complained) about the extra $5.00, the owner said that was the policy of the Clover the company that I guess runs the site. I argued that regardless, Delaney's has a responsibility to be transparent and mention the extra fees on their website. I won't be ordering online or off line pizza from Delaney's again. If there's one thing this town isn't short of its bars and pizza/sub joints. It's a real shame, the old owner and namesake, Ron Delaney, ran a great shop. RIP Ron. read more

Disappointed in the size and quality for the price. It was little more than a personal pizza. Sauce tasted like straight tomato paste. Pic online doesn't accurately reflect product. Employee could not have been nicer. Sketchy people hanging near entrance was definitely not good for business. It's been a few minutes since we've had what I can consider the best pizza in Gloucester since we moved to this area 20 years ago. Toppings are always Uber fresh, great crust and just overall consistency in there execution.not that overly sweet sauce the locals seem to like in a lot of there pizza joints either. Not exactly keeping up with any social media trends, it's hard to find a menu or what they might have for specials that evening (open at 4pm) that was too bad because I might have rethought my selections after eyeing the board with some tasty options. Pizza is one size only FYI. If your in the area this is choice #1 for good, local Pie! read more

How a pizza place with an Irish name (Delaney's), amidst an Italian town with numerous Italian pizzarias, turns out to be THE BEST PIZZA in town....is amazing! No kidding, it really is. Nice thin pizza with generous fresh toppings is to die for. CC Don't be turned off by the nonambiance. It's strictly a take out, but there is a delivery service available for a few dollars. Very disappointed. We have been going to Delaney's since Ron opened his pizzeria after leaving Maria's. I was concerned when the new owners took over but I was pleased that they are using Ron's recipes. I ordered two pizzas, both linguica, onion, garlic, and extra cheese last night. The thin crisp crust was excellent, as well as the tomato sauce. However, there was no garlic, and if this was extra cheese, how little could just regular cheese be on their pizzas? Two pizzas for $50 (including tip) is excessive; particularly, when they skimp on the toppings. I hate to give up on them, but it looks like it is worth driving to Peabody to get Santarpio's pizza to-go. read more

Ok YUM. How did I not know this place was in Gloucester and was so delicious?!?! My friend and I were waiting to get into the restaurant at the cruise port and decided to throw caution to the wind and order pizza instead because he'd heard this pizza was some of the best in Gloucester. We got a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and one with peppers onions and mushrooms. As we waited the 30-40 Mins for the 'za, we grabbed a six pack of beer from next door. When it was ready we took it all to Stage Fort for our very own picnic so his son could play as we dug in. This pizza is bomb. It's a super thin cracker-y crust, the cheese is salty and melty. The sauce is just right. The crust snaps when you bite into it. YUM. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. There's no place to eat inside the shop (and it kind of looks like a principal's office with linoleum everywhere and a few waiting chairs inside-though they did have a great playlist going!), but it is well worth the wait. Highly recommended! (But beware of the seagulls at stage fort if you stage a picnic like we did--they are AGGRESSIVE) read more

Pizza is excellent if you're in the mood for a nice crispy thin crust. The meats are yummy and they don't skimp, and the vegetables are fresh. I didnt give 5 stars for two reasons. If you have a big appetite, they're thin and smaller then your average large and I can eat one by myself no problem. So if you wanna feed a family, good luck. That and the fact that they're just as expensive as a large anywhere else so if you and your spouse are hungry, better get two. If you have a family, better bring your credit card. I just cant understand why they don't either make the pizza much bigger, or at least come down on the price! read more

Sauce is better than most in gloucester(not really saying much as most pizza here is terrible). The crust is similar to a wet saltine. Shoulda known better than to go to an Irish themed pizza place but we have been searching for good pizza since moving to Gloucester. Also way overpriced, I didn't think a large at 12 bucks would only be 8 inches. About the same quality as dominos ugggh. This town needs to get their shit together on the pizza front. I've had better pizza in the Midwest. Go to the frozen aisle before you bother with this place. read more

He pushed us towards the bar and we ordered drinks. After our 7:45 reservation came and went, a dish of almonds appeared where we were standing with our cocktails. We never ordered these, as I am allergic to tree nuts. We just pushed them to the side and thought nothing of it. When we eventually sat at a table for dinner, we ordered drinks, oysters, and two pizzas. One pizza has cheese and the other pizza (the Rosso) is only sprinkled with Parmesan, and is commonly known in Italy as a pizza senza formaggio. After waiting over 40 minutes for our food after being sat late, only the cheese pizza arrived. We waited over 20 minutes and talked to our waiter and kitchen multiple times to see what was going on with the other pizza. Apparently the pizza chef kept burning the cheese free pizza, an item on their menu that he is apparently not able to make. Finally the pizza was made, and the manager delivered it to the table next to us. They asked why they were given a pizza without cheese, and we had to walk over to the table to grab it. Our waiter came over and asked if everything turned out, and we shared we were disappointed the manager gave the pizza to the wrong table. He told us he had nothing to do with that and was embarrassed. After we started eating, our waiter came back to tell us the pizza and the almonds were comped. We had never ordered the almonds, and shared that we were surprised we would have been charged for something we never ordered and shared my allergies. He said it was the best his manager allowed him to do. Not once did the manager come by to apologize for delivering the pizza to the wrong table or for messing up our order or for making our experience so poor. To be "comped" something we didn't order as an apology for our table wait was absurd. Terrible experience, mediocre food, incompetent manager. Would not recommend.

The crust is soft but also crispy (you have to try it to understand!) Had lots of mushrooms with mozzarella and ricotta. It was scrumptious! Filling without being heavy!
