Cute little shop on Main St! I went in right after the opened on Saturday. I got a cheese pizza and 2 diet cokes. I think it was about $20 and I think it was worth it. I ate the entire pizza. The sauce isn't herby, the tomato taste is the most prominent. Sometimes you get a sauce that you can't even taste the tomatoes which is weird because it's the prominent ingredient. However, the sauce and crust go very well together. It's a solid pizza and the cheese tastes very fresh. The people at the shop were really nice as well. read more

Found this place while in town, so delicious. Well priced. We spilt a bbq chicken pizza and it was an ideal size for 2. Any more people would need an extra pie for sure, since they are all made the same size. The service is excellent. The place is clean and a little quiet. I loved it will definitely come back. We stopped in while on vacation in the area. It was midweek lunch time. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and wings. It was great! The pizza was lava hot and the wings were delicious. Inside is very small with only a few tables. We had the one in the corner by the bathroom and the table was terribly wobbly, but we made it work by wedging papers under it. Just when I thought Gloucester doesn't need another pizza shop along come Bravo By The Sea. But this is old school north end of Boston style pizza from the wood fired oven. Not the sweet sauce style that's so common here. Also a location in Manchester also,which has a larger menu which includes sandwiches and entrees. The Gloucester location has pizza,salads and a few appetizers. We've had it numerous times over the past few months and my only gripe is the consistency factor which I've noticed other people have mentioned. Some nights perfect cook, other nights,not sooo much! If they can fix that issue alls good here. Located on Main Street downtown, parking is usually doable close by after 5pm or so and off season. A lot of the pizza places around the Gloucester area is more like Sicilian pizza which I'm not a fan of due to the sweetness of their sauce. Mine was a delivered order so I can't comment on the ambiance. I got a margarita pizza and a chopped salad. The pizza was disappointing, the red sauce was heavy and overpowering. The outer crust was overdone while the center didn't have any body. We only ate half. The salad was fresh and the shaved cheese was tasty but it was largely chopped lettuce it really didn't have an identity. Delivery was later than promised but not so much that it was a problem. I hope others have had a better experience. read more

Bravo By The Sea has some of the best pizza I have ever had. It is wood fired and the crust was perfectly crispy (we did request a crispy crust and they delivered). We only waited for 5 minutes between ordering and receiving our pizza. The pepperoni was delicious and the tomato sauce tasted fresh and homemade. You could tell that they use quality ingredients. The staff was very friendly and responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The interior of the restaurant is pretty small and only had 4 tables (most people seem to order for takeout), but we ate there and it was perfectly comfortable and calm. The location is right near the water and some cute shops. Overall, we loved our experience at Bravo and we hope to come back soon and bring friends and family! read more

We got takeout pizza last year (GF & standard crust) and it was good, though $4 extra for GF crust is excessive. We thought we'd try it again this past Friday night. On the plus side, the ingredients were fresh and the order was ready on-time. As for flavor, what a disappointment. We enjoy wood-fired pizza, but the GF was burned. The pepperoni was fair, though not generous with topping. I was expecting Italian-style meatballs on the meatball pizza, but the slices of meatball were greasy, bready, and flavorless. If any herbs or cheese were used in those meatballs, they were undetectable. Hope this was just a bad night, but we will not be ordering from Bravo by the Sea again. read more

We ordered Bravo pizza in July, having had no idea that Bravo Pizza was in town ever though we are life-long residents, and it was a revelation: fresh mozzarella, basil, red onion, thin crust and so on. It was the best in town, almost as great as Santarpio's. We ordered four pizzas tonight ($64) and it really was abysmal. The mozzarella was not fresh and wasn't melted, the crusts were burned black, and yet the pizza was "undercooked" and soggy. The pizzas weren't cut. So, as with many restaurants (I was in fine dining for decades), the quality of the product often depends on who is cooking. You're better off not eating out on a Sunday or Monday: chef's nights off. We will probably try Bravo again, but it won't be right away, and the kids said they like Sebastian's better, which is nonsense. I'm hoping the owners of Bravo read this review and think seriously about methods and ingredients; year round residents are an important clientele. read more
