This place is the perfect "hole in the wall" to take anyone (friends/family/significant other). The food is always reasonably priced and the quality is that of a much more expensive breakfast joint. When I say "hole in the wall" I mean a hole in the wall. The appearance is NOT that of a squeaky clean chain restaurant but what it lacks in fancy exterior advertising it makes up in the atmosphere. When you walk in you sit right down and you are quickly met by your server who will speak to you like they've know you for a decade. This is the perfect Sunday spot to grab some good and have a conversation without having to yell over anyone else's table. It feels like a small town place where everyone knows your name. Above all the service is great, absolutely great, and the food is delicious, period. I've been a happy customer at Simard's since 2011 and it is our go-to place for breakfast. The prices are reasonable. I love their omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and hamburgers. The waitresses are very friendly and when walk in, they will greet you with a friendly "good morning". The owners are really sweet people and they put out great food with no long waittimes. I have brought friends and family here and they have all been really happy with the food and service. If you want to order something extra or have something left out of your order, they accommodate with a smile. The building does need a lot of work, but it's very clean and the food is fresh. Recommend 100%. You won't find a better breakfast place, but don't show up at 1:30 in the afternoon and expect to sit there an hour. 2pm they close :) read more

Definitely run down looking, hole in the wall; BUT, they make great monster sandwiches and egg sandwiches. Everything else is meh, just fine. The hash can be not crispy enough and the sausage gravy a bit floury. But the sandwiches are always great. Service is good, coffee keeps coming. Yay Simards! I dig this place - no bullshit. Cool breakfast items too. The 2-2-2 for $3.99 rules - two eggs, two pancakes, and two sausages. Love it! And, they have biscuits and gravy! I NEVER see that anywhere. That'll fill you up for the day. I'm sure the biscuits are not as good as you get down south or whatever, but the gravy is great. I had a lobster omlette there recently (!) it was pretty good, but I'm not quite sure about the lobster and egg combination.... hmmmm. Fish and chips pretty good (and reasonably priced) Have not tried the roast beef - it doesn't really seem like a big thing for them... stick with the breakfast - you can't go wrong. read more

I've eaten breakfast here a few times after going to the flea market at Todd Farm. The food is OK. But nothing mind blowing. Hard to screw up eggs. And it's way overpriced. When the place gets busy the service really goes to hell. Once a man came in five minutes after I did. He sat down next to me, ordered, got his food, ate, paid and left before my food had even come out. Then when I complained the high school age waitress gave me a snarky attitude. Not the worst place I've ever been, but if you're looking for good service and fair prices, there are definitely better options. read more

We've lived in the area over 20 years and had never been to Simard's Place until recently, we stopped for breakfast. The service was good as was the breakfast food. Both owners came to talk to us and were very friendly. Two weeks later, we decided to go back for lunch. It was Saturday, April 27th around 1:00. We entered and sat directly in front of the counter and waited to be attended. It was not a busy day and two young ladies who were not the owners were working. One who was not doing much had looked at us several times and ignored us completely. The second lady never eyeballed us but walked by us several times and also ignored us. After about 10 minutes, I told my wife I would go say something. She said to wait as there were new people entering the restaurant and wanted to see if these new people would be waited on. The new people walked in and sat in a location much further from view than we were. One of the two workers immediately went over to take their order as we sat there still unattended. This angered my wife so much, she got up and left and I followed. On my way out, I told the waitress who was just returning from taking the new order, that I didn't appreciate being ignored. We left and went next door to the Olive Café, a place which we will continue to go. Simard's Place, never again! read more

I had breakfast at SSS once, only once a few years ago. I had to write this review now because when I drive by, I see SSS has parking lot overflowing, and Olive next door may have only a few cars. I don't understand that at all. For me Olive is a great place. The one meal I had at SSS was the absolute worst food I could imagine. It was cheap, but you get what you pay for. It must be the history. This place has been here for a long time and it must be the local color. Back in the day, this was probably the only place to eat for miles around.
