OK, we've been here twice now (one time per year on our drive up to Maine). Granted we've only made it in for breakfast, but what a lovely treat that is! It's certainly a small town diner type of feel. Open kitchen area and good solid coffee mugs! You can even sit at the counter if you like. It's full of locals in the mornings. The service is always been welcoming and the food is pretty dang good. But the one thing you must get - GRILLED MUFFINS! They make the muffins fresh and we always grab 1/2 dozen to take with us. So if you're passing by and it's breakfast time - stop on in!! The last time we were in we grabbed a new muffin flavor, Morning Glory! And it was glorious. We'll be back!

Was delightfully greeted by Madelyn and Melissa my bartenders. Was served and ate well like always!!! Power went out a few times and was given the option to leave but I decided to stay. After the fourth time I decided to cash out to make sure the place I enjoy didn't get shafted like the individuals who ran out when it went off. Upon paying for my meal and drinks I asked for the military like I always do and was rudely interacted with by the floor manger saying we don't do military I said well yes you do I come here almost daily. She snarled and said well WE did enough for you today, (you mean you served me my breakfast and my three drinks?) and we don't do that. I then showed her that you do have a military discount and she mumbled something under her breath rudely and finally applied the discount. Mind you the bartender apologized, though not her fault. This manager is absolutely rude. This would be the second time. First time I actually thought they didn't have one until the second time I came in and was told there is one and they said this manager is just lazy and rude. The entire time I was here she was sitting down laughing with friends leaving her staff with no help.... throughly enjoy this place, but man she doesn't belong and needs an attitude adjustment. But anyways eat here! Foods great and the Bartenders are sociable. P.S - It would have been a 5 star except for Lizzie...... see you all tomorrow

This is what we got: - Grape leaves: Delicious stuffed grape leave paired with heart of palm and blood orange. Perfect way to start a delicious dinner. - Vegetable creme soup: I think that was one of the best soups I had in a while. It was super flavorful and light. The crispy brussel sprouts on the top provided some crispiness to the plate. - Chickpea tofu: The combination of the chickpea tofu with the delicata squash was just delightful. I wouldn't even know how to improve the plate if I was asked to... - Pot pie: Perfect bite for a winter. It makes you warm up immediately. The flavors were on point. You only need to be patient with this one, since it takes a while until it cools down and you can really enjoy it as it deserves. - Sweets: The description of this plate was only "cherry, blueberry, strawberry, pear" so we didn't really know what to expect. Well, we were served with a delicious piece of cake. Every bite made you come back for more. If I was asked about something to improve, my only recommendation would be to make sure the waitress describes the plate when served. At least the time we were there, that was not the case. Looking forward to coming back soon!

It was pretty busy even in January so I'd be prepared to give a few minutes over to parking but it's worth it. You can order at the counter or through a kiosk. We tried the kiosk but oddly it doesn't seem set up to give you a receipt so I would order at the counter next time. The staff were very nice about following up to get me my receipt but I think they just need to configure the system a bit more. Whether you order at the kiosk or the counter you take a number and the staff will bring you your food. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the dining area spacious and comfortable. There are quite a lot of good things to choose from on the menu so it will probably be returning next time we're in Newburyport to try and test out a few other items.

When you walk in, the place is beautiful- sort of modern rustic chic with beautiful string lights. We ordered mussels and wine to start. Mussels were fantastic. Meaty, flavorful and plenty for everyone. The entree is where it fell short for me. I got the shrimp pasta. While the flavor was there, when I cut into the shrimp they still looked pretty translucent to me. After eating one and cutting up a few others, I felt that they were undercooked. The waitress said they wouldn't cook them more but she could bring the plate back and ask if they were cooked through. My plate came back and I was told they were cook so I sat there pushing soft, nasty shrimp around my plate while just eating spaghetti. My boyfriend asked for a medium burger and it was definitely rare to medium rare. When this happens, generally you offer to bring out new protein cooked again or ask if the guest wants something else but I was just left to feel like I was nuts. Whatever, into dessert. Now for dessert, I thought we'd try the cookies and ice cream. cookies were completely raw ( not just soft) and also not hot and the ice cream on the plate looked like it was pre scooped and refrozen. While I loved the concept of this place.
