The food was excellent! The homemade hash was cooked crispy for me and had perfect seasoning and flavor. Service was friendly and fast. My guests all complimented the Belgium waffles and eggs Benedict, and the cheeseburger as well. Prices were so reasonable and portions were hearty! Decaf was a bit weak but that is my only note. Literally, WTF! How can one restaurant have the worst of EVERYTHING? Worst home fries EVER! Most of them were like chips. The sausage links were like those pre-formed sausage pieces cheap pizza places use for sausage on their pizzas,but sausage link shaped. Worst taste and texture ever. Pro tip: not everyone likes cinnamon on their French toast. Eggs were OK. And the bacon, WTAF! I've NEVER spit bacon out in my life until now. Who spits bacon out? Cheapest possible quality bacon. OK, we've been here twice now (one time per year on our drive up to Maine). Granted we've only made it in for breakfast, but what a lovely treat that is! It's certainly a small town diner type of feel. Open kitchen area and good solid coffee mugs! You can even sit at the counter if you like. It's full of locals in the mornings. The service is always been welcoming and the food is pretty dang good. But the one thing you must get - GRILLED MUFFINS! They make the muffins fresh and we always grab 1/2 dozen to take with us. So if you're passing by and it's breakfast time - stop on in!! The last time we were in we grabbed a new muffin flavor, Morning Glory! And it was glorious. We'll be back! read more

As always, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We sat down and were served in under 10 minutes. For a busy time if the year, in and out in under 30 minutes is fantastic! This is a cute place somewhere between Newburyport and Salisbury Beach. My dad and I happened upon it a few months ago, and from our consequent visit last night, it seems like my dad has become a regular! The set-up is like a diner. When you walk in the door, to the right is a counter you can sit at and order from and pick up take out. On the other side of the door are a number of tables you can seat yourself at. The food is a mix between good ol' homecooking and of course seafood. The service is friendly and quick. The food has never disappointed. And the prices are extremely reasonable. Most dishes range from $6-$9, and the higher priced meals are typically fresh seafood. It's not the classiest place you'll ever sit down to eat, but its somewhere you'll want to return to so that you can try each and every dish. But a note to the establishment: 3 ACs + a handful of ceiling fans can make for a VERY cold restaurant, so much so I couldn't even wait for the bill to run out of there into the hot, humid air outside. read more

With the Whistling Kettle up the street in Amesbury going out of business and replaced by the parking lot to the new CVS the title for best breakfast in Amesbury/Salisbury is up for grabs and there are a lot of players on the scene: Morning Buzz, Hollow Cafe, and Connie's Stagecoach all make the top tier of options with Cosmo's, Pat's Diner and Marshview Cafe bringing up a second level of potential wildcards. One thing Connie's has the others do not is their excellent lunch and dinner options. We hit this place once in a while. The food is decent and reasonable priced. It seems to be a regular spot of the local Sr. Citizens, the place is always full of them. We usually go here for a late lunch after a day at Sandy Point or on the way home from Newburyport (or Portsmouth). But we did finally try it for breakfast a few weeks ago. Overall the food was good... but both of our Waffles were DRY.. even butter and syrup did not help. So here is the skinny: Food - Mostly good. Stopped in on a Sunday morning, will not make that mistake any again. Food was ok at best. The special we ordered the bread was not even toasted. The omelette was not made as ordered and the holindase was broken. I think the worst part was the service. We were ignored while the waitress spent her time on people she knew. I have been going here for years. The previous owners were the sons of " Connie". They have since sold to a not so good owner. She is rude to the staff & in the way while she is at the restuarant. The foods are ok, somethings have changed, more Greek foods, cuz the new owner is Greek, but the quality has kinda slipped. Some of the wait staff is wonderful, always make ya feel welcome. They work hard for the new owner & get no appreciation. We went for the last time about a month ago. It was hot outside & no one will turn the a/c up? Our waitress, who we have never had good luck with, completely messed up. She took our order, then a large table came in & took their order, but never put our order in. The large table ate, we waited, a few more tables came & , got served & ate...we waited. When our eggs finally showed up, she blamed the kitchen staff for the screw up. As i stated, we have been going here for YEARS...but she 100% blew it all to hell. We will miss Sue & Kathy...but the rest need to go, get out & be fired! read more

We love Connies but not everything on the menu is great. If you try it and aren't impressed, don't give up! It is worth finding what you do like. What they do well they do very, very well. They serve a great breakfast and offer anadama toast! Their parm is out of this world. I love the eggplant parm with ziti and I think it may be the best I've had. Tried this place for the first time. It's a humble Greek diner that also serves local fish. Was skeptical about ordering the fried seafood platter, but was I glad I did! Clams were cooked perfectly and the scallops were extra sweet. French fries were good and the cole slaw was fresh with a light sauce. Skip the Greek lemon soup and go for the fish chowder, which is quite hearty. The pies are store bought, but the rice pudding is home made and quite good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We went for breakfast. I think it left a lot to be desired. The clientele seemed to be mostly seniors and those on the larger side looking for a cheap eat. I asked for an egg over medium but it was very runny Pancakes tasted like a box mix and the hot cocoa tasted like wAter and whipped cream like cool whip. Yuck.
