Nancy's is our favorite local breakfast place! Nancy is the sweetest, and her servers are fantastic, too. The flavored coffee drinks are wonderful, the homemade muffins are delicious, and we love the unique breakfast entrees, like the Cali bowl with tater tots and the sweet potato toasties. First time there today, nice atmosphere, nice waitress. Food: disappointed especially after seeing the menu and some reviews online. Weak coffee, hash browns tasted old, oily aftertaste and barely warm, also hard to chew. If you like cinnamon raisin bread you'll love the coffee roll, it might have been bread, wasn't light and tender with lots of cinnamon and brown sugar. No, just plain raisin bread with hint of cinnamon, icing helped to improve it a bit. Too bad the two pastries we got were overpriced and again, not as expected. Two types of cheesecake desserts, bigger one tasted more like cheesecake but the smaller, flat one terribly gummy texture and not at all like cheesecake. Threw it away at home. We came here as a group of 4 at around 11am on a Saturday and we waited about 20 mins which we expected. The hostess updated us on our wait time pretty regularly which was appreciated. My husband and I both got omelets. They were both good but nothing special. The home fires were really crispy! I got a specialty coffee (Nutella cold brew with cold foam) which was really really good. The couple we went with are locals and say they go all the time and always enjoy themselves! While visiting friends in the area, we decided to try Nancy's for breakfast. We started with beignets, which arrived hot and dusted with powdered sugar and a dish of amazing blueberry jam - Maine blueberries, the little ones with tons of flavor. Two of our party had the avocado eggs benedict. They said that the hollandaise was somewhat bland (could have used a bit of lemon), but otherwise the dish was quite good. Another had a breakfast Sandwich with corned beef which was also very tasty. I sampled some of the corned beef and it was delicious. I had a special for the day. This was a spicy fried chicken wrap with honey, egg, greens, and cheese. Most of the filling was chicken and egg. It was huge and delicious. The spice was not knock you off your chair and the honey really complimented the spice that they used. It was so big that it was difficult to hold and eat, but if that's the worst I can say about it. I wish this were a regular item, so that I could get it again when we go back. The wait staff was very attentive and communicative. Five stars for her. So why not 5 * instead of 4? It was very close, but for a breakfast place, I want the hollandaise to be great. It was also slightly higher than expected. You can see the prices on the menu and judge for yourself. The food and service was good but the prices were a bit high. Somehow, I was overcharged for my sandwich of $16.95 that ended ip being $24.00. My wife ordered breakfast and when we go the bill, she was charged $1.25 for a very small side of mustard (likes it with her beans). The parking is precarious. Not enough space for the people that want to go there and backing out is a bitch at 67. The staff is very attentive. They acknowledge you as soon as you enter the door. The pastries are very appealing, my sweet tooth could be satiated if I didn't have to watch out for my sugar. I love a whipped cream dessert. Ordered the breakfast burrito (which comes with a side) the eggs were drippy wet and the chocolate milk tasted sour. My son ordered eggs, pancakes and bacon and the pancakes were dry. This little dinerant was the starting point for the business drives north I used to have to take. Nice, welcoming atmosphere along with a mean eggs benedict and first-rate corned hash are a few reasons to go here. I am so sad that this place that i used to love dearly has really gone down the tube. The food is still pretty good-they have maintained their quality over the years for the most part. Recently though, I have noticed that their portion size has gone down. I mean WAY down. I almost never finish a meal no matter where I go. Even when I warm up a frozen dinner/lean Cousine at home, I often don't finish the whole thing. That should give you an idea of how much I eat per meal. Well last time I was at the Marshview, I gobbled down my omelette and I was starving when I left. That never ever used to be the case. I looked down at my food and couldn't believe at what they were offering for the money. Very unhappy. Also they have lunch items on the menu but they now close at 12. Ummm ok? You could AT LEAST stay open until 1pm when you're serving lunch. Also when you go in, there is a sign that once sitting down all patrons need to be out after 90 minutes. Really nice touch. I guess when they give you food that you need a microscope to see you definitely don't need much time to eat it, so no worries! read more

The Marshview Omelette was unbelievable! It had everything you could want for breakfast & it came with a choice of bread! I got the cinnamon raisin toast & I've never tasted any that good. So much flavor! It also came with a choice of potatoes & with the help of our server, I was directed to get the home fries. Great seasoning & very well cooked. My husband got the Hungry Man & he couldn't finish it all, but he was also very happy with the food we received. I noticed a picture on the menu of Nancy's "famous" coffee roll - yolo, so I ordered one of those too. Not sure what was different about it from the cinnamon raisin bread, but I didn't like it nearly as much as the bread. Putrid. The "turkey hash" special was nasty. Expected ground turkey, some diced potatoes, perhaps some onion or red pepper, ya know, like "hash". What is was, was leftover dried turkey dinner whipped with old mashed potatoes, and served at a scorching 47°. When I addressed the temp, they took the plate and microwaved it with my eggs, spinach, and potatoes all mixed in. Now the whole plate was ruined. We're visiting from out of town and Nancy's looked like a solid local establishment on Yelp. The atmosphere was casual, but family-oriented, the coffee was delicious, not acidic. We ordered the Seafood Strudel, a burrito-shaped pastry stuffed with haddock, scallops, crab cake, asparagus and broccoli, and the Krabby Bene, a crab cake Benedict. And for dessert, the Italian Zeppoli :) Both dishes were perfectly sized portions. A great local hole in the wall coffee shop with extra attention to cooking their own goodies in addition to breakfast fare. Jalapeño bacon is very interesting and spicier than the usual New England expectation. Staff is friendly and sometimes you may need to remind them you'd like a bit more coffee or something but that shouldn't be a big deal to you if you're dining here. Happened upon this unassuming diner through a Google search for something near Newburyport MA - we had tried all the bfast places there and were feeling adventurous. Exciting selection of entries, delicious food, great service. My only minor disappointment was the oversalting of the corned beef hash made it almost uneatable. One funny story - we like to eat at a place with a view and I called to see if the "Marshview" in the name meant it overlooked a marsh. The person answering sounded somewhat bemused and answered that there was a marsh behind it and windows all around. We were encouraged by that info. However, not surprisingly after that phone call, it actually overlooks an industrial part of Route 1, though there are marshes visible behind the debris. You definitely don't go for the view or the ambiance; you go for the delicious food, wide menu selection, nice employees, and take out bakery selections. Highly recommend. read more
